What role can the FDA play in regulating GMO
products?
This brief is intended for the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is
presented on behalf of Raising Awareness and Discovering the Dirt (RADD). RADD is a non-profit
organization committed to promoting the wellness of the environment.
Since the earlier 1990s, commercialization of Genetic Modified Organisms (GMOs) has spread
throughout the U.S. The FDA has promoted a program of self-regulation among the biotech crop and
food developers (www.fda.gov). Many of the biotech food and crop developers’ primary interest is the
development of high-yielding products. For example, Monsanto, a biotech food and crop developer’s
director of corporate communications, Philip Angell was quoted saying; “Monsanto should not have to
vouchsafe the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its
safety is the FDA’s job,” (Antoniou, Robinson, & Fagan, 2012, p. 23).
Finally, research and Monsanto’s own feeding trials revealed health-effects and suggest that
more suitable options are needed to maintain the safety of consumers and the environment. Therefore,
RADD is committed to working with the FDA in creating programs that will ensure the safety of
environment and the use of GMOs.
Statement of Issue:
In order to promote awareness and ultimately protect the health of consumers, the FDA has the
ability to regulate GMOs by establishing new guidelines. There is a growing body of evidence that
connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage, and violation of rights of farmers and
consumers. Studies show a correlation between GMOs and health problems such as production of new
allergens increased toxicity, decreased nutrition, and antibiotic resistance (Bernstein et al., 2003).
Additionally, since the emergence of GMO crops, there has been an increase in the amount of
agriculture changes. Such changes include the development of “massive weeds” and “super bugs,” both
requiring an increased dosage of toxins to rid of these unwanted, overgrown organisms. In return,
consumers are now ingesting these increased dosages of toxins.
Background:
Ultimately, the only beneficiaries of products containing GMOs are its producers, such as,
Monsanto, rather than consumers. Monsanto makes an abundant amount of profit on their GMO
products as they have scientifically modified crops, allowing them to have faster results. The “proposed”
purpose of GMOs was to increase yield and enhance nutritional value, while also lowering the use of
pesticides. (www.nongmoproject.org, 2013). Indeed, the use of GMOs increase yield, but studies show
that GMO products hold no nutritional value and rather, by decreasing the use of pesticides, there has
been an increase .

Currently, when a patient wants to be treated for a pathology, depending on the country, a doctor or a pharmacist can propose different types of drug: an originators, a generic or a biosimilar with the aim of bringing the best solution to the patient.
In the same time, authorities, learning societies, patient associations, national and European unions work closely together to set up regulations that will help bring the most efficient drugs at the lowest price on the market and take care of the patient.

The use of medicines in our society follows no rules and ethics however there are detail regulations
available for this. Both patients and general physicians are responsible for this trend. Patients from middle to
lower class are affected by high cost of medicine this is the reason they tend to buy medicine of cheap price and
sometime agree to compromise with quality of medicines. On the other hand general physicians are influenced
by the unethical pressure of pharmaceutical companies. In this study similar problem is addressed and detailed
investigation has been performed. This study revealed the trends in the prescription of medicine addressing pain
and fever mostly relevant to children by general physicians. This is a survey based research and analysis which
showed that general physicians are influenced by the brand and the manufacturer’s name.
A comparison between two medicines namely Ibuprofen and Paracetamol was also discussed which are
commonly prescribed by the general physician for the management of pain and fever in children.. Although both
are regarded as alternate to each other, as reveled from the survey but an Ibuprofen brand is prescribed more
than the other brands. There are many factors associated with this phenomenon such as brand names,
manufacturer’s name, marketing strategies and cost. The strategies need to gain market share were also
discussed. It is concluded from the research that Ibuprofen suspension has an advantage on its competitors
prevailing in the market. Ibuprofen suspension has a cost effective advantage and its response is fast as
compare to acetaminophen. Moreover dosage time between two dosages of Ibuprofen is greater than
acetaminophen. For quick relief doctors prefers to prescribe popular brand of Ibuprofen suspension as compare
to acetaminophen.

Presidential/Head of Government Elections LATAM 2019 - 2025
Many companies are developing their global strategic plans, and the countries of Latin America are promising markets for the present and the coming years.
The political situation is critical for the development of business strategies. The democracies of Latin America have well defined their governments in the Region.
The Presidents of Mexico and Brazil, 2 of the 3 largest economies in Latin America and members of G20, have recently assumed the administration of their countries, offering development plans that seek the growth of their internal and external markets, and attract foreign investment. This year 2019 it is the turn of the third largest Latin American economy: Argentina.
The calendar below shows the official election dates in 22 countries of the region. While there is great political stability, however, in a couple of countries there are pressures to have more immediate elections than the dates of this calendar.

Abstract.
Strategic Planning is for all of us
Every member of the organization is impacted by the strategy.
The creation of the strategies is nevertheless concentrated in a relatively small number of professionals but both, the search and analysis of information, and the implementation of the diverse organizational strategies is in hands of almost everyone.
Members of any domestic, international or global organization, public or private, for profit or not for profit, must work beyond the functional, geographical and generational boundaries and in close collaboration so as to get the maximum benefit from the strategic process.
The conference is to present the key concepts of strategic planning to a wide audience, in diverse functions and levels, and with the final purpose of increasing the interest and collaboration of each and every member of any organization in the critical process of strategic planning.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
