The document describes a proposed weekly magazine targeted towards female listeners of indie music aged 15-30. The magazine will cost £1.20 per issue and include information about female indie artists, pictures, concert dates, and other content relevant to its target audience. Each 40-page issue will follow typical magazine conventions like contents pages and stories. The magazine concept is most similar to NME but targeted specifically towards women, where NME has a mostly male audience.

includes all information about the Indie Female artists and
music, the magazine also includes pictures, gig dates etc and
much more for the Female Indie listeners.
The magazine will be published weekly and will include roughly
40 pages in each magazine, it will also include typical magazine
conventions like; Contents page, cover page, index, stories etc.
2. Similar magazines
• Comparing my magazine type, with other magazines, i think it is the
most similar to NME, as the music types are similar and the target
audience is, except that NME is probably targeting more
males, where my magazine i've chosen to do is targeting the more
female side of the genre of the music.
•
• The focus of these types of magazines, such as NME, focus's on the
music side and information base of the type of music.
•
• The editor of NME is Krissi Murison, and is owned by the company
IPC, and target audience of ages 16-19.
• Normally magazines such as NME are around £2.50, However
include loads of information tour dates etc
3. Conventions
• The conventions of these style of magazines, include similar styles and
layout, for instance they all have a certain colour scheme that fits,
• For example Kerrang and NME are magazines that are very popular and
have been round a long time, therefore the conventions of these
magazines are spot on, for instance, their mastheads are iconic and
noticable, the backgrounds etc are also very clearly shown and stand out
with the colours used, which have been carefully selected so the reader
spots out what the editor wants them to.
4. Info on other magazines
• For NME and Kerrang magazines, the two both were published a long time
ago such as; NME- 7 March 1952, and Kerrang’s first publish being 6 June
1981 therefore these types of magazines have had years of experience
and improvement, Kerrang is published by Bauer Media Group.
• The distribution of these magazines are very regular as both are popular
magazines and take up a big segment in the Music magazine market as
they cover a wide target audience and a wide range of conventions.
