The students created an iceberg by filling a globe with water and freezing it. They then observed what happened when they placed the iceberg in a container of water. The iceberg caused the water level to rise as it displaced the water. When placed in a larger container, part of the iceberg remained above the water and part below. Over time outside of the freezer, the iceberg slowly melted as it was not as cold. The experiment showed how the state of water changes with temperature.
