always good for engineering invention as it is more
concerned with the practical side.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
TECHNOLOGY & SYSTEM
FEASIBILITY
 Although I am student of electrical engineering
department, here I have involved in mechanical
equipment, as it was very easy for me with the
knowledge gathered at IET at BIP semester. Eccentric
motion and linear motion mechanism use for the whole
machine. By using sensors and timers control cct was
designed.
18
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
Most of the machine parts can be found on the factory
yard and others are designed by the mechanics. So the
invention was full economically profitable.
For the control circuit of the machine some electronic
items have to be borrowed.

patent commission.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
30
Is a measure of how well a proposed system solves the
problems,
After completing this project successfully we would be able
to get positive comments .some of them are,
Coir fiber mat were easily made and not to collect them
from the subcontractors.
Orders from the companies were able to give at time.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
con….31
Reduce Grievances
Grievance is a real or imagined anxiety on the part of an
employee, affecting his or her normal performances. In here
we don’t use human resource for the product of the loom
machine. So we don’t have the responsibility of human.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
con….32
Quality output
The surface of the coir fiber mat would be even while it was
made from the machine than to the handmade. So the output
is more attractive and suitable for market.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
con….33
Further designs
Not only a simple mat, but also we can make more decorated
closured mats by this machine if we upgraded it with simple
mechanisms.

RESOURCES FEASIBILITY
This involves questions such as how much time
is available to build the new system, when it can
be built, whether it interferes with normal business
operations, type and amount of resources
required, dependencies, etc .
Proximity with engineers to sharing their
knowledge about our process.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
ORGANIZATIONAL FEASIBILITY
con…43
MANAGEMENT SKILLS
We make a target for our invent as the time was the
major barrier because the mechanics had to work for the
other machines also. They involved in this project while
they were in free time. When considering time
management we complete our weekly target.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
ORGANIZATIONAL FEASIBILITY
con…44
CULTURAL FEASIBILITY
In this stage, the project's alternatives are evaluated by
us for their impact on the local and general culture. For
example, environmental factors need to be considered
and these factors are to be well known. Further an
enterprise's own culture can clash with the results of the
project. Here the project would not causes for any reason
of the company's culture because it only improve the
technology.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

MARKET RESEARCH
55
The key questions that should be answered in the
Market Research section of the feasibility study are
presented below.
What is the current or projected demand for your
proposed products or services?
Our project would be highly demanded as it is the world
first loom machine. As well as we would be able to end
our product to the other companies which are involve in
coir industry
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
MARKET RESEARCH
56
World still used the hand working machines for weaving
mats. Most of the western countries are using synthetic
threads for making their mats as they are lack of coconut
fibre. That is why we have a great chance for making this
invention. Below picture shows no evidence for the
automated one.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
MARKET RESEARCH
57
What are the target markets for this product or service?
At first we decide to use this for our company for a longer
time as still we are the world number one coir fiber product
company. After few years we can give our knowledge and
experience about this product for the outer world.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
MARKET RESEARCH
58
Start-Up Costs: These are the costs incurred in starting
up a new business, including “capital goods” such as
land, buildings, equipment, etc.
For the capital cost for our product is completely bare by the
Haleys Fibre PLC as the machine may be the great
historical point of the company
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
TECHNICAL RESEARCH
The cost and availability of technology may be of
critical importance to the feasibility of a project.
Key questions to answer include:
a. What are the technology needs for the proposed
business?
b. What other equipment does your proposed business
need?
c. Where will you obtain this technology and equipment?
d. When can you get the necessary equipment?
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
TECHNICAL RESEARCH
Actually technology for this machine was not a new one.
Rather simple theories and skills need for this. Very qualified
welders were here to complete this project. Control circuit
which is fully automated the machine is designed by me with
the help of knowledge gathered at IET.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
TECHNICAL RESEARCH
Necessary equipments
It was not a great problem as all the equipments could be
able to find in the workshop yard.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT
62
What is a Business Case?
An effective business case is a multi-purpose document that
generates the support and participation needed to turn an
idea into reality. It explains what the idea, problem, or
opportunity is about, how and who it will impact, what others
are doing, each of the alternatives, the associated impacts,
risks and cost/benefit of each alternative, and makes
recommendations
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT
con..63
Labour turnover
When we have finished the machine and get productivity we
have to face another major problem, which may be
sometimes become ethnic conflict which is joblessness of
the machine operators who were once work with the
previous handmade machines
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT
con..64
ANSWER
Current world everything is becoming automated even our life
also. So no one can stand against it. By automating its true
that some kind of jobs are vanished, but there should be
answer for that .The people who have lost their jobs can be
join to a another department where much labour force is
needed. Hence the power planning can be done.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
STRATEGIC
ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESMENT65
Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) is a
systematic decision support process, aiming to ensure that
environmental and possibly other sustainability aspects are
considered effectively in policy, plan and programme
making. The SEA Directive does not refer to policies.
We have used all the machines and equipments which
international standards. As well as no environmental hazard
from it.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
STRATEGIC
ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESMENT con..66
National Legislation
The requirements for SEA in any country are set out in the
national Regulations. SEA facilitates the integration of
environmental considerations early in the policy development
process in order to reduce adverse effects on the
environment, including effects of such environmental changes
on health and socioeconomic conditions.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
STRATEGIC
ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESMENT con..67
In Srilanka….
Central Environment Authority
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources
(ME&NR) which was established in December 2001 has
the overall responsibility in the affairs of the CEA with the
objective of integrating environmental considerations in
the development process of the country. The CEA was
given wider regulatory powers under the National
Environment(Amendment) Acts No:56 of 1988 and No:53
of 2000

HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED

69
We cannot find any model machine for this
in the country.
At this begging level we cant use SERVO
motors which have more accuracy, as there
prices are so much.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED

70
The invention was bulky that was a huge burden for us.
The machines eccentric motion need more power from
the motor as we don’t care the risk of its weight
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED

71
The most complex problem was the bobbing running
system as we don’t use any other method like air jet
systems as in the cloth weaving. Its running have to be
so much smooth and difficult to make it with usual
bearings.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
SOLUTION & REMEDIES
72
Used the internet to get some idea about
loom machine mechanism
Please watch the video2 below…..
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
SOLUTION & REMEDIES
con…73
On behalf of the SERVO motors we could use the brake motor
which also give us the same mechanism what we want.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
SOLUTION & REMEDIES
con…74
As the proximity switches are more expensive ,at first
we used limit switches to check the machine. After
completing the control circuit and its success; make us
to use proximity sensors.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
IMPLEMENTATION
PROCEDURE75
Implementation is the carrying out, execution, or practice of a
plan, a method, or any design for doing something.
How we implement
After checking our machine we decide to take it to the Galle
branch as currently the coir mats making is happening there.
And the labour is easy to find there. After the successful profit
we decide to proceed the machine manufacturing.
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
FUTURE TECHNOLOGY
76
At future sometimes it would be easier to upgrade this
machine into high speed loom machine by introducing
AIRJET system for coir mat industry
HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

MY PERSONEL
VIEWS………….80
A feasibility report is a testimony that attempts to create
some sort of action. From doing this project I could
understand many things around me. Some sort of acts,
regulations etc what we don’t know before. As well as we
have a chance to involve in managerial side training as an
engineering trainee. At last I have to say that knowledge
gathered from this project made me to think the world so
tiny and why we are doing such reports, just nothing but to
our own life prosperity……

MARKET RESEARCH 55 The keyquestions that should be answered in the Market Research section of the feasibility study are presented below. What is the current or projected demand for your proposed products or services? Our project would be highly demanded as it is the world first loom machine. As well as we would be able to end our product to the other companies which are involve in coir industry HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 56.
MARKET RESEARCH 56 World stillused the hand working machines for weaving mats. Most of the western countries are using synthetic threads for making their mats as they are lack of coconut fibre. That is why we have a great chance for making this invention. Below picture shows no evidence for the automated one. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 57.
MARKET RESEARCH 57 What arethe target markets for this product or service? At first we decide to use this for our company for a longer time as still we are the world number one coir fiber product company. After few years we can give our knowledge and experience about this product for the outer world. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 58.
MARKET RESEARCH 58 Start-Up Costs:These are the costs incurred in starting up a new business, including “capital goods” such as land, buildings, equipment, etc. For the capital cost for our product is completely bare by the Haleys Fibre PLC as the machine may be the great historical point of the company HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

TECHNICAL RESEARCH The costand availability of technology may be of critical importance to the feasibility of a project. Key questions to answer include: a. What are the technology needs for the proposed business? b. What other equipment does your proposed business need? c. Where will you obtain this technology and equipment? d. When can you get the necessary equipment? HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 60.
TECHNICAL RESEARCH Actually technologyfor this machine was not a new one. Rather simple theories and skills need for this. Very qualified welders were here to complete this project. Control circuit which is fully automated the machine is designed by me with the help of knowledge gathered at IET. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT 62 Whatis a Business Case? An effective business case is a multi-purpose document that generates the support and participation needed to turn an idea into reality. It explains what the idea, problem, or opportunity is about, how and who it will impact, what others are doing, each of the alternatives, the associated impacts, risks and cost/benefit of each alternative, and makes recommendations HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 63.
BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT con..63 Labourturnover When we have finished the machine and get productivity we have to face another major problem, which may be sometimes become ethnic conflict which is joblessness of the machine operators who were once work with the previous handmade machines HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 64.
BUSINESS CASE ASSESMENT con..64 ANSWER Currentworld everything is becoming automated even our life also. So no one can stand against it. By automating its true that some kind of jobs are vanished, but there should be answer for that .The people who have lost their jobs can be join to a another department where much labour force is needed. Hence the power planning can be done. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESMENT65 Strategic environmental assessment(SEA) is a systematic decision support process, aiming to ensure that environmental and possibly other sustainability aspects are considered effectively in policy, plan and programme making. The SEA Directive does not refer to policies. We have used all the machines and equipments which international standards. As well as no environmental hazard from it. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 66.
STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESMENT con..66 National Legislation Therequirements for SEA in any country are set out in the national Regulations. SEA facilitates the integration of environmental considerations early in the policy development process in order to reduce adverse effects on the environment, including effects of such environmental changes on health and socioeconomic conditions. PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED  69 We cannotfind any model machine for this in the country. At this begging level we cant use SERVO motors which have more accuracy, as there prices are so much. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 70.
PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED  70 The inventionwas bulky that was a huge burden for us. The machines eccentric motion need more power from the motor as we don’t care the risk of its weight HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 71.
PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED  71 The mostcomplex problem was the bobbing running system as we don’t use any other method like air jet systems as in the cloth weaving. Its running have to be so much smooth and difficult to make it with usual bearings. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

SOLUTION & REMEDIES 72 Usedthe internet to get some idea about loom machine mechanism Please watch the video2 below….. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 73.
SOLUTION & REMEDIES con…73 Onbehalf of the SERVO motors we could use the brake motor which also give us the same mechanism what we want. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
  • 74.
SOLUTION & REMEDIES con…74 Asthe proximity switches are more expensive ,at first we used limit switches to check the machine. After completing the control circuit and its success; make us to use proximity sensors. HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC

MY PERSONEL VIEWS………….80 A feasibilityreport is a testimony that attempts to create some sort of action. From doing this project I could understand many things around me. Some sort of acts, regulations etc what we don’t know before. As well as we have a chance to involve in managerial side training as an engineering trainee. At last I have to say that knowledge gathered from this project made me to think the world so tiny and why we are doing such reports, just nothing but to our own life prosperity…… HAYLEYS FIBRE PLC
