Cloud computing provides on-demand access to shared computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned over the network with minimal management. Virtualization shifts thinking from physical to logical resources, allowing one physical device to appear as multiple virtual devices with functions beyond the physical capabilities. Virtualization decouples software from hardware in cloud computing and provides partitioning, isolation, and encapsulation of resources. Cloud engineering brings a systematic approach to commercializing, standardizing, and governing cloud applications through its four elements: foundation, implementation, lifecycle, and management.
