Gscm strategies, in manufacturing ind.Karim Khayat
It has been increasing in consciousness of the environment in the last few decades. More people are aware of the world’s environmental problems such as global warming, toxic substance usage, and decreasing in non-replenish resources . In addition awareness exists among companies which seek to become green.
This study presents the various strategies to implement a GSCM in manufacturing industry. It focuses on the use of decision making models; the model used here is AHP. This method is used in such a way that helps in evaluating different criterion under each strategy, and therefore deciding about best strategy needed.
The document summarizes the 9th Universal Walk to St. James of Compostela organized by MUASC from August 12-14, 2014. The goal is to reveal, share, and engage with universal values to construct a prosperous, inclusive future. It will bring together people from the 5 paths/continents to discuss and commit to this vision. The event includes 3 days of walking, discussions, and a closing symposium where participants can commit to building a future based on the values they choose.

Geo-Enable BIM - What can you do to helpMartin Penney
The document discusses five key challenges (referred to as "The Big 5") for geo-enabling Building Information Modeling (BIM): accuracy, metadata, interoperability, level of detail, and generalization. It analyzes the current maturity levels of each area in both the BIM and geospatial industries and argues they must be improved to fully realize the benefits of BIM, such as reducing infrastructure costs. In particular, the geospatial community needs to help solve issues regarding spatial referencing, data integration from different sources, and representing real-world assets at appropriate definition and information levels.
Swindon Town centre regeneration story July 2014ForwardSwindon
The document discusses regeneration plans for Swindon Town Centre. It outlines projects already completed in 2012 and more currently happening. While progress has been made, more work remains, including lowering Fleming Way to the same level as the pedestrian area in 2016, replacing the subway, and creating a shared landscaped space for pedestrians, bikes and buses on Fleming Way. Future Kimmerfields projects and additional future projects are also mentioned.
This document discusses the economic costs of production for businesses. It defines explicit costs as monetary payments and implicit costs as the value of the next best use of self-owned resources, which together make up total economic costs. Accounting profit only considers explicit costs, while economic profit subtracts both explicit and implicit costs from total revenue. The document also covers short-run and long-run production relationships, costs, and curves, explaining how costs change based on variable and fixed inputs over time. In the long run, all inputs are variable and economies and diseconomies of scale can impact average total costs.

This interactive session will explore and try to give a few answers to questions like:
• Should IT businesses care about privacy & personal data?
• Do security and privacy walk hand in hand in the cloud?
• Is it relevant for a mobile developer to have the right privacy model?
• Do you embed privacy in your IT app development?
• Is there any real need for privacy & cookie policy in the digital world?
“Zap”: A Mobile Application for Quartz Air-ConditioningKarim Khayat
The document discusses a feasibility study for a proposed mobile application called "Zap" that would allow users to control Quartz air conditioning systems through their mobile phones. The study finds that "Zap" is a feasible way to add value to Quartz's existing air conditioning products by giving customers modern, convenient control via an app. Key points of the feasibility include that the needed programming costs are relatively low, the existing customer market is sizable, and competition is limited. Marketing "Zap" could help differentiate Quartz in the market and increase their profits.

Alteration of Patent Protection Length in the Intellectual Property Provision...Karim Khayat
The document analyzes alterations to patent protection length proposed in the intellectual property provisions of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP). Key points include:
1) The TPP would expand patentability to include minor drug variations and new uses of existing drugs, allowing pharmaceutical companies to extend patent monopolies beyond 20 years.
2) This would likely reduce access to affordable generic medicines in TPP countries by delaying generic market entry.
3) Critics argue the TPP provisions prioritize pharmaceutical industry profits over public health by weakening flexibilities for affordable drugs and increasing medicine prices, with developing countries most at risk.

Context-Driven Testing (CDT) rejects the notion of generalized “best practices” that apply to all projects, and instead accepts that different practices work best under different circumstances. The third principle of the seven defined in CDT states that people are the most important part of any project’s context. Less of a focus on processes and tools, with more emphasis on people and their collaboration empowers testers with the freedom to make choices about how best to do their job without following a restrictive plan.
In joining the game of workshop and some theory sharing in slides, you will a better understanding of Context-Driven Testing practices, principles and its benefits as well as know how is a nice Marriage of Agile and Context-Driven Testing.
