3. Goal
The 9th edition goal is the need of revealing, sharing and
engaging with universal values that will allow the construction of
a prosperous, inclusive and common future.
Persons concerned are walkers of the 5 paths, relevant people
and young students from the five continents will set their
contributions to a constructive debate in order to base this
construction.
The whole purpose of this discussion is conducted in collaboration
with “Choice of the Future” platform, COFT, a meeting point
where discussing together and express a common commitment.

11 August, 2014
Starts in the meeting point at St. James of Compostela,
during the 11th and, then move to municipalities or
”concellos” for departures from each path.
12, 13 and 14 August, 2014:
3 days walking over Galician lands. Five paths, each
corresponding to a continent, travelled by walkers carrying
earth from their place of origin and a White Rose symbol of
Unity and Universality.
In the afternoons, will organize activities that will allow us
to know and share local projects aimed at sustainability,
ecology, social welfare, personal development, etc…

24. Since its beginning we are doing Universal Walks for Peace to St.
James of Compostela with the faith of those who enter on the path
they do it in the recognition of diversity, and also motivated by values
such as tolerance, recognition, love, dialogue, universality … values
that can indeed build a solidarity mankind.
We promote the walks because we have the willing of mobilizing
citizens from all over the world without distinction of race, gender,
ideology, physical or moral circumstances… to walk in unity for
these values.

Five days walking, five stages covering five paths that are each of them in
correspondence with the five continents.
Walking simultaneously and in unity. Departing the same day and
arriving all together to St. James of Compostela Cathedral as unitary
point of reunion for all walkers for the Peace.

Since 2006 to date there have been
eight Universal Walks to St. James of
Compostela under the theme of
“Peace”. It is an annual and
international call attended by walkers
from all over the world.

32. Permanent Movement Universal Walk for Peace
There have also been a significant number of “Universal Walks for Peace”
in several cities in other parts of the world promoted by a group of
individuals who constitute what we have called “Permanent Movement”.
They are local calls, unified with St. James of Compostela, and held one
Sunday per month and mainly attended by citizens from this area walking
in unity and in correspondence with a continent.
Since October 2008 and through representatives of the Permanent
Movement Universal Walk for Peace in each of the cities and, with the help
of those responsible from Universal Walk Foundation to St. James of
Compostela MUASC, walks have been promoted outside the St. James of
Compostela region.

35. The first Universal Walk for Peace in Segovia, Spain was held in
May 2012 and represented a milestone in the development of the
movement. It was the first Walk held outside Galicia’s region. This
year will be held the third edition on June 1, 2014.
Also in Lleida, on May 18, will be held the first Universal Walk for
Peace by walking the five paths and finishing at La Seu Bella.
Our website, www.muasc.es, contains information on all walks taking
place, expanding monthly with new calls.
Thus, walk becomes a personal and collective symbol of a deep
change able to transform mankind.
