This trailer uses composed music and dialogue to introduce a villain threatening magical creatures. Wide shots establish the setting of old New York and introduce three main characters, one holding a suitcase that is important to the plot. Bird's eye views of a magical government building and two characters looking at a glowing sea creature through ice establish the fantasy elements and winter timeframe. Title cards and logos feature the same font and style to brand the film.

2. Sound
At the start of this trailer there is a black screen accompanied by
loud composed music with heavy drums before a character begins
talking. Here some sort of villain is introduced by a minor character
which sets up the plot for the movie. The majority of dialogue hints
to magical creatures and other magical aspects of the films. It is very
conventional of these types of films to have magical creatures which
are not real. For the whole trailer the composed music carries on
throughout to highlight the epicness of the story. The music is very
typical of high value production fantasy films like Harry Potter and
Lord of the Rings. It reflects the enormity of the plot usually in
fantasy films the plot involves a threat to a whole world or race of
people in some sort of danger by antagonist characters.

3. Use of black screen
• From the start of the trailer all we see is a black
screen several seconds. Two example of sound
are played over the black screen. Non-diegetic as
in the music and sounds characters cannot here
begins here and play through the trailer. Diegetic
sound, what character can here as in dialogue
begins to introduce the story. This puts a heavy
focus on the sound that viewers can hear.
Obviously we are supposed to listen to the
dialogue as somebody describes a ghosts like
creature causing havoc.

4. Wide angle shot
This shot establishes a location for film which is clearly an old depiction of New York
city. The image of the city is evidently green screened, which is a common convention of
fantasy films as a lot of the aspects and locations are imaginary. We are also shown three
characters wearing old fashioned clothes the two to the left are minor characters
whereas the character standing alone is clearly a main character. The wide shot allows
us to understand the character with the suitcase is important to the plot somehow.

5. Birds eye
view shot
The shot here helps to establish the genre in the trailer. On the
floor we see a large golden seal with the words ‘Magical Congress
United States of America’ in bold text. This highlights the
magical aspect of the building which seems to go CGI on
impossibly in the background- another use of to create what
would be a difficult set to make. The woman is the scene is
dressed smartly with a brief case as a prop and her hurriedness
suggest her role in sorting out the problem at hand in the film.

6. Another birds
eye view shot
In this shot we see two characters looking through ice at some sort of sea
creature glowing golden and swimming through the water. The ice gives a time
frame of the movie, which is seemingly is winter time. CGI effects are used here
to create the thing moving underneath the ice which plays into the fantasy
elements of the trailer.

7. Title cards and logo’s
The picture of the Warner Bros logo fits the films style
but also features a mysterious blue smoke effect to
give the trailers its fantasy element. The title cards in
this trailer have the same font and style which helps
to give the films its brand. The title is large and bold
to put a focus on it, one of the letters depicts some sort
of dragon creature which relates to the fantasy
elements. The screen then switches to the word
‘November’ to set a date for viewers as to when the
film is released.
