2013-15 Irish Research Council Scholarship worth € 47,500.
2013-15 UCD-Matheson Islamic Finance Doctoral Award worth € 30,000.
The award was created as a result of my advocacy. I approached UCD and
Matheson (a Dublin based law firm) to persuade them of the importance of
research in the area of Islamic financing. On the basis of my funding proposal
the two entities funded my research on a 50:50 basis. My research led to the
organization of an international conference at UCD, Islamic Finance and Law
Conference 2015, in addition to my doctoral thesis.
2014 Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Sarajevo Islamic Finance and Economics
Conference worth € 900.

I teach Criminal Law and Contract Law. As a tutor I plan and lead four seminars of 25-40
students every week for second semester. As a Legal Studies Skills tutor I facilitated
seminars to teach legal skills to undergraduates.
2015 to date Tutor, Writing Center, University College Dublin, Ireland
I assist students from all across the university in developing their academic writing skills in a
clinical setting in a one-on-one format. As a tutor in the writing center, I provide students
with an understanding of research, academic writing structure, literature review, critical
thinking and feedback from module coordinator. I also conduct seminars on ‘Writing in
Law’.
ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS
May 2015 Organiser, Islamic Finance and Law Conference (IFLC) University

I raised € 13,000 from academic and non-academic sponsors. Speakers invited were Dr Zamir
Iqbal, Head of World Bank Global Islamic Finance Development Center, Professor Rodney
Wilson and Dr Martyn Moloney. Nine speakers and eleven presenters spoke at the IFLC. The
event was attended by 60 plus audience. In order to organize the event, I constructed an
organizing committee comprising of 13 members, which contributed positively towards the
success of the event.

I worked on all the administrative tasks i.e. setting agenda with main organiser, calling team.

event. I convinced Clarus press as one of the sponsors (sponsorship worth 350 euro)
supporting the workshop. Fifteen specialists presented at the event.

ACADEMIC RESEARCH VISIT
2014 Academic ResearchVisitor, Durham Business School, United Kingdom
I visited Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance Centre (May-August 2014)
under the supervision of Prof Mehmet Asutay. I completed chapter four of my doctoral thesis
during this visit. I examined the risk mechanism of the Islamic financing industry in the UK
and explored Irish financial regulatory framework to accommodate the Islamic finance risk
mechanism in the country.
. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2012 Secretary Coordinator Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland
As a secretary, I dealt, largely independently with routine internal and external
correspondence for the ICCI. I assisted in the organisation of various events, such as
workshops, courses and seminars and compiled weekly reports for Chief Executive Office.
2012 Auditor Meridian VAT Processing Ireland
I analysed clients’ expense reports under supervisor’s instructions. I processed tax receipts
according to the company’s policy. I ensured accuracy in the process and attention to details
and compliance with company’s code of conduct.

As a Legal Studies Skills tutor I facilitated seminars to teach legal skills to undergraduates. 2015 to date Tutor, Writing Center, University College Dublin, Ireland I assist students from all across the university in developing their academic writing skills in a clinical setting in a one-on-one format. As a tutor in the writing center, I provide students with an understanding of research, academic writing structure, literature review, critical thinking and feedback from module coordinator. I also conduct seminars on ‘Writing in Law’. ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS May 2015 Organiser, Islamic Finance and Law Conference (IFLC) University College Dublin, Ireland (http://www.ucd.ie/law/iflc2015/) I raised € 13,000 from academic and non-academic sponsors. Speakers invited were Dr Zamir Iqbal, Head of World Bank Global Islamic Finance Development Center, Professor Rodney Wilson and Dr Martyn Moloney. Nine speakers and eleven presenters spoke at the IFLC. The event was attended by 60 plus audience. In order to organize the event, I constructed an organizing committee comprising of 13 members, which contributed positively towards the success of the event. May 2014 Secretary Workshop, World Trade Organisation in Legal Context: Challenges of the Past and Prospects for the Future, University College Dublin, Ireland (http://www.ucd.ie/law/phdworkshop/) I worked on all the administrative tasks i.e. setting agenda with main organiser, calling team. meetings, writing minutes for meetings; to ensure the prompt and efficient organisation of the event. I convinced Clarus press as one of the sponsors (sponsorship worth 350 euro) supporting the workshop. Fifteen specialists presented at the event.

ACADEMIC RESEARCH VISIT 2014 Academic ResearchVisitor, Durham Business School, United Kingdom I visited Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance Centre (May-August 2014) under the supervision of Prof Mehmet Asutay. I completed chapter four of my doctoral thesis during this visit. I examined the risk mechanism of the Islamic financing industry in the UK and explored Irish financial regulatory framework to accommodate the Islamic finance risk mechanism in the country.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2012 Secretary Coordinator Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland As a secretary, I dealt, largely independently with routine internal and external correspondence for the ICCI. I assisted in the organisation of various events, such as workshops, courses and seminars and compiled weekly reports for Chief Executive Office. 2012 Auditor Meridian VAT Processing Ireland I analysed clients’ expense reports under supervisor’s instructions. I processed tax receipts according to the company’s policy. I ensured accuracy in the process and attention to details and compliance with company’s code of conduct.
