What is risk? Why are organizations concerned with it?
Whether it is driving, taking a shower or just going at the grocery store, everyone exposes themselves to risk. Organizations face internal and external risks that endanger the possibility of achieving their goals and objectives. As the world becomes more unpredictable, the concept of risk has turned into a major concern to professionals of different industries. According to ISO 31000, risk is the effect of uncertainty on objectives. In addition, risk management is the process of identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing risks. The goal of risk management is to manage risks before they affect the organization.

This handbook is aimed at assisting those on the governing body of an organisation to: • gain clarity about the interaction of governance and risk management • avoid confusion in the responsibilities of those with an oversight role and those with an implementation role • achieve focus on embedding risk management within the strategic framework. ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management—Principles and guidelines and the related handbook, HB 436:2004 Risk management guidelines—Companion to AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 deal with the implementation aspects of a risk management framework, and will assist entities to focus on operational risk management. Governance Institute’s publication Enterprise Risk Management1 also provides a framework for approaching the implementation of risk management. This handbook deals with the link between the deliberations of boards and their oversight of management and the alignment of risk management practices with strategic objectives throughout the organisation. This guide is not intended to advise directors on how to create an enterprise risk management system or a technical management-led risk process — these are more suited to development by management. It is intended to assist boards to integrate their governance and risk management frameworks. This in turn will assist organisations to achieve strategic focus, by providing boards with the information they need and ensuring ongoing ownership of risks by all employees in relation to achieving strategic objectives. The questions that conclude each section are included for consideration and to prompt directors’ thinking. Directors will need to decide if they are relevant to their circumstances.

Due to the current instability in the business world, organizations should be able to anticipate changes and have coherent responses at hand to effective manage risks, create value, build good relations, increase profit and improve competitive positioning.
A report titled Exploring Strategic Risk issued in 2013 for Forbes Insights by Deloitte, contains some very important conclusions for the business community. 300 executives from around the world were interviewed for the study, in an attempt to find out their vision of the risk strategy and current changes and analysing how organizations should face these new challenges.
Sometimes it is difficult to link risks to a specific financial impact and not all data are pertinent to the evaluation of emerging risks. That's why companies have to be aware of internal risks and manage them well in order to be able to manage external risks and invest into strategic assets such as human capital, clients and innovation.
This insight explains the case of the financial services as the sector that less trust generates due to its short-sightedness, lack of values and lack of professional education that resulted in corruption and bad practices, which compromised the financial sector.
The report A Crisis of Culture: Valuing Ethics and Knowledge in Financial Services examines the role of integrity and knowledge in restoring culture in the financial services industry. The conclusions appear in the full version of this document.
The financial industry is just one example in the wider panorama. Lack of values is widespread and creates significant risks. Bad practices trigger problems such as loss of profit, loss of reputation and even loss of shareholders, clients and employees.
The crisis, as well as the arrival of new technologies, urges companies to maintain their good practices and emphasize aspects as ethics, leadership, commitment, performance, transparency and sustainability.
The digital revolution and social networks encourage companies to be more transparent: companies meet their promises and obligations, deliver a coherent dialogue and improve the relationship with their stakeholders.
Application of values raises the possibility of good results and profits for companies through improvement of their reputation and business as well as optimization of resources. This certainly creates competitive advantages, establishes a strong cultural connection and improves employees’ motivation.
Before taking any decision, an institution should keep in mind the fact that it needs implicit and explicit public approval. Good business management implies risk management, creating a climate of trust, good will, credibility, social commitment and empathy between stakeholders and the company.

“Today’s fast-paced business environment encounters a complex and ever-changing risk landscape that may negatively impact organizational value. The only way to respond to it is by having a dynamic and holistic perspective of the risk management approach to ensure business continuity.”
– Jack Zahran, President, Pinkerton
With growing risk complexities in business environment and volatile markets, there is an imperative need for attaining quality standards in critical functions, processes & framework. Combining Corporate Governance with Internal Leadershipjobdoctors
Internal Leadership helps competitiveness, profit, and growth. But without a strong Governance program, the company can risk failure and, at a minimum, damage to profits, reputation, and government requirements.
Governance can reduce risk, improve compliance, and provide shareholder and board level continuous monitoring. But without a strong Internal Leadership program, people issues are usually the weak link for governance effectiveness.
That is why we believe Internal Leadership and Corporate Governance are two sides of the same coin for revolutionizing a company’s competitive edge for sustainable growth.
Read this white paper to see how we leverage both solutions to help company growth.
In the fourth of a series of reports, commissioned by HSBC, we look at the challenge of harnessing risk management in the service of innovation. Good risk management can identify new business opportunities and be a powerful aid to innovation. However, when the risk function is reduced to a compliance-only role, its strategic benefits are lost.
Enterprise Risk Management - Aligning Risk with Strategy and PerformanceResolver Inc.
COSO, which has provided global thought leadership and guidance on internal control, enterprise risk management, and fraud deterrence for over three decades, recently released a draft update to the original COSO ERM Framework. This framework is widely used by organizations to enhance their ability to manage uncertainty, gauge risk, and increase stakeholder value. However, significant new risks have emerged since the Framework was released, demanding heightened board awareness and oversight of risk management, as well as improved risk reporting. For those organizations exploring ESRM – these themes will be strikingly familiar and the lessons learned, highly relevant.

• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.

Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument

Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.

Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities. As an investor, you need tools for analysis. Investment decisions are made by carefully analyzing the market. For better analysis of the stock market, investors often employ financial analysis of companies.
US Economic Outlook - Being Decided - M Capital Group August 2021.pdfpchutichetpong
The U.S. economy is continuing its impressive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and not slowing down despite re-occurring bumps. The U.S. savings rate reached its highest ever recorded level at 34% in April 2020 and Americans seem ready to spend. The sectors that had been hurt the most by the pandemic specifically reduced consumer spending, like retail, leisure, hospitality, and travel, are now experiencing massive growth in revenue and job openings.
Could this growth lead to a “Roaring Twenties”? As quickly as the U.S. economy contracted, experiencing a 9.1% drop in economic output relative to the business cycle in Q2 2020, the largest in recorded history, it has rebounded beyond expectations. This surprising growth seems to be fueled by the U.S. government’s aggressive fiscal and monetary policies, and an increase in consumer spending as mobility restrictions are lifted. Unemployment rates between June 2020 and June 2021 decreased by 5.2%, while the demand for labor is increasing, coupled with increasing wages to incentivize Americans to rejoin the labor force. Schools and businesses are expected to fully reopen soon. In parallel, vaccination rates across the country and the world continue to rise, with full vaccination rates of 50% and 14.8% respectively.
However, it is not completely smooth sailing from here. According to M Capital Group, the main risks that threaten the continued growth of the U.S. economy are inflation, unsettled trade relations, and another wave of Covid-19 mutations that could shut down the world again. Have we learned from the past year of COVID-19 and adapted our economy accordingly?
“In order for the U.S. economy to continue growing, whether there is another wave or not, the U.S. needs to focus on diversifying supply chains, supporting business investment, and maintaining consumer spending,” says Grace Feeley, a research analyst at M Capital Group.
While the economic indicators are positive, the risks are coming closer to manifesting and threatening such growth. The new variants spreading throughout the world, Delta, Lambda, and Gamma, are vaccine-resistant and muddy the predictions made about the economy and health of the country. These variants bring back the feeling of uncertainty that has wreaked havoc not only on the stock market but the mindset of people around the world. MCG provides unique insight on how to mitigate these risks to possibly ensure a bright economic future.

The future of the Pi cryptocurrency is uncertain, and its success will depend on several factors. Pi is a relatively new cryptocurrency that aims to be user-friendly and accessible to a wide audience. Here are a few key considerations for its future:
Message: @Pi_vendor_247 on telegram if u want to sell PI COINS.
1. Mainnet Launch: As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Pi was still in the testnet phase. Its success will depend on a successful transition to a mainnet, where actual transactions can take place.

4. Regulatory Environment: The regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies is evolving globally. How Pi navigates and complies with regulations in various jurisdictions will significantly impact its future.
5. Technology Development: The Pi network must continue to develop and improve its technology, security, and scalability to compete with established cryptocurrencies.
6. Community Engagement: The Pi community plays a critical role in its future. Engaged users can help build trust and grow the network.
7. Monetization and Sustainability: The Pi team's monetization strategy, such as fees, partnerships, or other revenue sources, will affect its long-term sustainability.
It's essential to approach Pi or any new cryptocurrency with caution and conduct due diligence. Cryptocurrency investments involve risks, and potential rewards can be uncertain. The success and future of Pi will depend on the collective efforts of its team, community, and the broader cryptocurrency market dynamics. It's advisable to stay updated on Pi's development and follow any updates from the official Pi Network website or announcements from the team.

2. What is risk? Why are organizations concerned with it?
Whether it is driving, taking a shower or just going at the grocery store, everyone exposes themselves
to risk. Organizations face internal and external risks that endanger the possibility of achieving their
goals and objectives. As the world becomes more unpredictable, the concept of risk has turned into
a major concern to professionals of different industries. According to ISO 31000, risk is the effect of
uncertainty on objectives. In addition, risk management is the process of identifying, analyzing, and
prioritizing risks. The goal of risk management is to manage risks before they affect the organization.
Many methodologies exist worldwide that aim at mitigating risk for different sectors. The strategy that
organizations choose usually depends on the size of the organization, because larger organizations
need more sophisticated strategies as they generally face higher risks. In addition, International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) has created ISO 31000 standard which serves as a guideline
for managing risk and it can be used by all types of organizations, regardless of their size, activity
or sector.
The uncertain economic environment has made organizations worldwide undertake risk management initiatives.
Managing risk is crucial for the survival of all types of organizations, because it helps organizations in achieving their
objectives. Risk management can help all types of organizations in reducing threats related to their operation. It
helps large organizations which are more prone to risks, but also medium and small ones that want to grow and
succeed in today’s highly competitive market.
Risk should become part of the company’s management culture and not only a task that needs to be
completed. It should be an ongoing process because ineffective or no risk management can lead to business
failure. Effective risk management can prevent unwelcoming surprises, can help in using resources efficiently,
reduce fraud, and also manage all organization’s activities properly. Some areas of risk that organizations
should take into account include:
• Compliance Risk: Generally, non-conformity to rules and regulations can lead to punishments of
different sorts. For a company, non-compliance refers to violations of contractual agreements, laws,
and defined practices. As a result it can lead to different lawsuits and punishments, which can
ultimately exert low profits and dormant development. Additionally, industry standards that are not
properly and successfully implemented can bring compliance risks, where the company can suffer
from human, financial and legal losses.
• Financial risk: A company aims at increasing profits by following paths set out to achieve their goals.
Profit remains the engine behind a successful company and its longevity. However, companies are
in constant risk of potential profit and financial loss. Financial loss can come as a result of high
lawsuits (punitive damages), exchange rate losses and ineffective or damaging purchasing practices.
Although, companies try to calculate their financial risk, proper and successful implementation of
Risk Management, will help in lowering financial risk at its minimum.
2
Likelihood X =
(Occurance)

(Impact) Risk
3. • Strategic risks: Companies plan for the future and make strategies to enhance their productivity,
ensure their stability and increase their profits. Risk from an ineffective strategic planning can result
from ineffective business alliances, improper advancing of the strategy, uncalculated rapid growth
and the culture of compliance that the company possesses.
• Operational risk: Risks resulting from
internal procedures, systems and people
fall under operational risk. This area of risk
aims at mitigating risks related to human
errors, which means that industries with
less human interaction are less prone to
operational risks.
• Reputation risk: This area of risk has
become highly important in today’s
economy. More specifically, organizations with strong intangible assets such as brand name,
intellectual capital, and goodwill, are especially more concerned with protecting their reputation.
Failure to manage the above mentioned areas of risk can lead to reputation risks.
Reducing legal liabilities, protecting human capital, saving assets, time, properties, are just a few benefits
that can occur from managing risks. It remains of utmost importance that risk is minimized and growth of
the company is secured. Although some risk-taking remains inevitable for the companies, increase in profit
and protection of resources. Risk managers should aim at managing risks without impairing initiative and
innovation, but create a corporate culture which enables innovation while managing risk.
Failure to manage risks can have consequences in terms of business performance and reputation. Assist
your organization in managing risks effectively by considering its effect in environmental, safety and societal
outcomes. Implementing standards such as ISO 31000 is crucial for those that want to reduce the impact
of risk in their organization. The organizations implementing risk management will remain competitive and
will have a better performance. Growing competition will expose organizations to higher risks making risk
management crucial in having business sustainability. The need for qualified personnel on implementation of
ISO 31000 and other risk management standards will keep increasing.
