Executive Summary 
The core mission of Fab Lab London is to provide a stimulating environment for 
individuals and companies to learn about the application of digital technologies, 
hardware design, traditional fabrication principles, 3D printing and sustainable 
design practices. We will support individuals wanting to take their ideas through 
to tangible products that may create value for themselves and a wider 
community. 
The Fab Lab will operate as a charity reinvesting our profit, giving grants for 
sustainable projects, mentoring and community related initiatives. Fab Lab 
London will also operate in partnership with the RSA and their ‘Great Recovery’ 
initiative - providing an operational base for their consultancy services, training, 
education programmes and events. 
The Lab will provide three core services 
1. Shared workspace for schools, colleges & individuals to work and develop 
ideas 
2. Skills development and technology education through events & workshops 
3. A product accelerator, translating innovative concepts into businesses
What will the Fab Lab provide? 
1. EDUCATE: Training, events & workshops 2. COLLABORATE: An open workspace 
• Open workspace for individuals to work 
• Scheduled open access to the workspace for the public 
• Tiered membership for individuals 
• 3D Printing, Laser cutting, micro controllers etc 
• Access to discounted equipment and materials 
• H & S training for equipment use 
• Schedule of events and workshops 
• Technology training and educational workshops for adults 
• Introductory technology and manufacturing experiences for 
schools aligning with the National Curriculum and STEM 
• Design & production training skills 
• Introductory – Intermediate coding skills with micro-controllers 
4. CONSULT: 3. PRODUCT ACCELERATOR services to external clients 
• Provide employment opportunities to members 
• Develop business partnerships for commissioned product 
design work 
• Augment the innovation and product development 
departments of business, engineering, science and 
technology companies 
• Product accelerator for entrepreneurs needing help 
to fast track products to market 
• Product mentoring programme to help 
entrepreneurs manage and develop a product
Where will the Fab Lab be based? 
Fab Lab London will be based within “Bathtub2Boardroom” an 
entrepreneur hub and co-working space in Central London at 1-3 
Frederick’s Place EC2R 8AE. Bathtub2Boardroom is a UK 
registered charity no. 1144236. 
The Fab Lab will have access to approximately 4000 sq.ft of 
dedicated space in the ground floor of the host building. With access 
to 
• A dedicated event space for approximately 80 participants 
• Open workspace for individuals/companies to use 
• 6-8 closed workspaces for equipment and smaller workshops 
• Reception and welcome area 
• Secure access and swipe card entry systems 
• Library and resources space 
• Kitchen and toilet facilities 
The Fab Lab is located conveniently within Zone 1 near Bank Tube 
Station and also well position for visitors via the DLR from East 
London and Cannon Street mainline station.

What is Fab Bike? 
Fab Bike is a pop-up experience that conveys the Fab Lab spirit in a 
fun, exciting and easy to understand way. 
Fab Bike creates spaces where people can enjoy making things in a 
environment using a variety of digital fabrication tools, including a 
laser cutter, 3D printer, micro-controllers and other portable making 
tools. Fab Bike London is an experimental project that can be 
erected as a temporary workshop in coffee shops, public buildings 
and schools in London. 
The Fab Bike will offer access to 
• Educational materials about personal fabrication technologies 
• 3D printers, design software and material libraries 
• Use of a laser cutters for cutting and engraving wood, paper and 
leather 
• Workshops with Arduino, Raspberry Pi micro controllers and sensors 
• Ethical and sustainable design approaches for makers and hobbyists 
• Access to professional guidance on using crowd funding platforms 
• Access to a UK community of makers, hobbyists, designers and 
inventors

design curriculums 
• Coffee shops to providing a relaxing and public workshop to showcase 
digital fabrication, providing participants access to the technologies; a 
place to meet and share ideas and learn new things. 
• Public and private buildings (art galleries, corporates, technology hubs) 
as an experiential showcase of digital fabrication and 3D printing. 
• Bespoke venues seeking unique experiences for participants (Royal 
College of Arts, Southbank Royal Festival Hall, Covent Garden, British 
Museum, Science Museum) 
• Fab Bike will launch as a pilot in central London. Over a 3 month period 
we will aim to host six workshops in the Charing Cross, London bridge, 
Clerkenwell and Southwark area.
