● 1st Meeting of all spanish fablabs in summer 2013. Why an
association of FabLabs is needed?

● There is little communication between spaces, their
communities and the projects being developed.
● 1st meeting of all fablabs was during Replic_age 2014 at
Madrid.

12. Hypothesis
● No sense in making competition, we should establish a
dialogue to be complementary and work together.
● A digital fabrication ecosystem led by FabLabs will generate
a better and more innovative ecosystem, allowing
entrepreneurs and creators to develop their projects at the
city.
● FabLab Madrid Network is the key for a resilient ecosystem
of innovation in the city.

15. Helping project Loom
● We want to build one loom at every Fab Lab/Makespace in the city,
● We have already done 1 workshops in the city where fabbers and
makers from university, institutions and grass-root fablabs built
Walter’s loom,
● We will work together in order to create a new version of the loom
project, in order to help the design evolve and improve its performance.
● Next workshop we will invite textile artist and craftsmen to join us.
