World agricultural industry investment in export market development for grain.SOS Interim Management
A very interesting report led by the US Wheat Associates that investigates the level of market development expenditure for grain exports by competitor countries. Interesting comments about the Australian industry. Our export market development does not sound very threatening.
Chinese investment in Spain topped 600 million euros in 2014, according to an ESADE study.
According to this report, 93.8% of Chinese direct investment in Spain since 2000, some €1.662 billion, occurred in the 2012-2014 period. Of that amount, €610 million was invested in 2014, 49% more than in 2013. Moreover, by the end of the year, total investment in 2015 could be even higher, as a result of various major transactions recorded over the last six months in the real estate/hotel and agribusiness industries.

And then with research such as this.

Atlas Advertising CEO Ben Wright and Investment Consulting Associates' Managing Director Douglas van den Berghe discuss trends and opportunities in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the United States.
Given today's ease of sharing information worldwide, it has become easier than ever to export to markets on the same continent or land thousands of miles away. However, the variety of markets that exist means not all countries provide ideal conditions for your product or service. A business must choose its export market(s) carefully by gathering relevant and accurate information, speaking with trade experts, and performing a country-level risk assessment. This presentation was originally given on Feb. 8, 2018 to founders of tech ventures based in Seattle's eastern suburbs who are seeking business opportunities in markets abroad.

n The gap between labor costs in the U.S. and overseas
is shrinking. Pay and benefits for the average Chinese worker
rose by 10% a year between 2000 and 2005 and sped up to 19% a
year between 2005 and 2010.
n Domestic energy costs are falling, while costs overseas
remain high. Natural gas costs three times more in China, France,
and Germany than in the U.S. The U.S. will continue to have an
energy-cost advantage over other countries. It will take between
five to ten years to create infrastructure to export a significant
amount of U.S. natural gas.
Global manufacturing cost competitiveness
has shifted over the past decade.
Due to these and other conditions, exports from the U.S. are at the
highest point in 50 years and are expected to go higher. The time is
ripe for American manufacturers of all sizes to consider creating or
expanding their export business.
Due to these and other conditions,
exports from the U.S. are at the highest point in 50 years.
