Standard 62.1: A VAV Dynamic Reset ApproachTraneOregon
Standard 62.1: A VAV Dynamic Reset Approach
ASHRAE Standard 62.1 “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality,” provides minimum design requirements for proper ventilation in commercial, institutional and hi-rise residential buildings. It allows optional “dynamic reset” controls to help match current system ventilation capacity to current load, but leaves design details for such controls to the designer. ASHRAE Standard 90.1 and ASHRAE Standard 189.1, on the other hand, both require demand controlled ventilation (DCV) for some zones, but they too, leave out design details. While relatively simple for single-zone systems, DCV can be much more complex for multiple-zone systems.

All Hands on Deck - Getting Visitors Involved in the Work of the Museum (AAM ...sloverlinett
It’s the age of participatory engagement, and the crowd is making vital contributions in areas where only experts used to tread. How can museums harness their visitors’ collective skills and intelligence, not just to make exhibits and programs more engaging but also to help carry out the museum’s scientific, historical, aesthetic, or environmental work? In this panel, we looked at how three science-themed institutions are approaching this new frontier and what the future holds in three state-of-the-art facilities now on the drawing boards: a new learning space at the National Museum of Natural History; a redesigned visitor center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida; and the new Nature Research Center at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. In the q&a, we debated the whys and hows of bringing citizen science inside the museum and inviting visitors to lend their hands, eyes, and minds to the cause.

Breaking the Silos: Creating Collaborative Opportunities with Art, Math, and ...West Muse
This multi-disciplinary panel will share how their partnership challenged them to discover the math in something significant to their organizations – a craft, photograph, or an auction. This project pushed the panel to find commonalities with atypical partners, unify under a concept, and establish powerful
connections with like-minded individuals. Participants will learn how to break traditional disciplinary silos with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) exploring the relationships between math, science, and art. #trendingtopic

3. Session Understanding Goal:
How do artists and scientists use
collaboration, communication, and observation to
understand the world around them?
How do artists and scientists communicate information?
What creative processes can we learn by studying the
work of expedition teams comprised of artists and
scientists?
6. Activity Overview
Assuming the roles of these early teams, today you will work in
“expedition” groups to survey a specific area in Golden Gate
Park. In contrast to the drive for development which funded the
nineteenth expeditions, your team has been commissioned by the
park to identify specific areas of the park that significant but
frequently overlooked. In addition to finding and documenting
these areas, your team is also responsible for developing an
awareness campaign to both spark the public’s interest in visiting
the park and build support for preserving the park for future
generations.
Before setting out to your identified location, in your group you
should determine if each member of the group will fulfill a specific
role i.e. geologist, ornithologist, artist, or if you will collective
assume all these roles individually while exploring your chosen
environment.
