The excretory system, also known as the urinary system, removes waste from the body. It contains the kidneys, which filter waste from the blood and produce urine, the ureters which carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder, the bladder which stores urine until it is released from the body, and the urethra which carries urine from the bladder out of the body.
