Bachelor in Geographic Engineering at University Agostinho Neto (Faculty of Sciences) 2001– 2004
High School at PUNIV (Pre-Academical Institute) 1997 – 2000
Career
History
SCHLUMBERGER August 2010 – April 2015
3D Seismic Senior Data Processing Engineer (London - England) January 2014 – May 2015
Responsible for running meetings to update the client on technical matters, manage client’s expectations,
delivering seismic service quality at the highest standards predominantly from North Sea, performing tests,
monitoring production and supporting the acquisition and onboard processing team to meet client’s expectations.
Key Achievements
- Took control of major high priority new technology testing (3D Deghosting) which helped to secure an in-
house contract with Shell. Successfully persuaded Maersk to add this technology in the scope of work
which on its turn helped to exceed revenue targets.
- Played a major role in a key discussions internally (with the AG and the team) and externally (with the
client) on a four survey-towed streamer multi-azimuth project which allowed the client (Wintershall) to
take the final decision on the best methodology to merge different dataset.
- Led a Q Marine testing which’s objective was to understand the main differences between 2D and 3D(new
Schlumberger technology) Deghosting techniques.
- Supported the early stages of testing (Denoise, Deghosting and Demultiple) of an Isometrix dataset which
for Multiclient.
- Successfully supported the OBP (Onboard processing team of the Amundsen vessel – Q Marine) to meet
the objectives of providing significantly enhanced images of potential reservoir for a Multiclient data from
the North Sea.
- Proactively ensured completion and implementation of key procedures that helped the Gatwick data
processing centre to decrease the turnaround time of over 20 different projects.
- Built relationships quickly and adapted well to new environment and cultural differences.
- Mentored interns (from Imperial College in London) and junior Geophysicist.
- Supported the Depth imaging team in performing the interpretation of different datasets (predominantly
from Angola) as well as taking crucial decisions for the success of different project.
2D/3D Seismic Data Processing Engineer (Luanda - Angola) August 2010 – December 2013
- Delivering seismic service quality at the highest standards, performing tests, monitoring production,
helping to do the quality control of the data focusing on quality, Management of timelines and client
communication, supporting the acquisition and onboard processing team to meet client’s expectations and
coaching of interns and junior Geophysicist.
Key Achievements
- Successfully completed the first Geology and Geophysics training course. Put forward recommendations to
improve the rate of success preventing the loss of new employees (junior Geophysicist)
- First Angolan in making a regional presentation (for Europe and Africa) which described the successful
use of a Schlumberger technique which identifies acquisition related noise in a record time.
- Spot differences in amplitude and structural continuity in the merging area of a Multiclient project which
led me to be nominated as the head of the investigation team of any kind of problems for that project.
- Led a 2D Cabinda’s Land project which helped Sonangol to take drilling decisions.
- Took part of an onboard training of the Amundsen vessel while it was acquiring data for Total Angola in
Angolan coast.
- Coached and mentored a thesis of a Geophysicist intern (from Agostinho Neto University).
- Mentored junior Geophysicist
2. CGG VERITAS March 2010 – July 2010
Seismic interpretation (Luanda - Angola)
Supported the interpretation team in performing the interpretation 2 dataset using the SMT(software)
A COLINA DO SOL PRIVATE SCHOOL February 2003 – May 2010
Teacher of Geology and Physics
Key Achievements
- Successfully implemented field classes of Geology (at Cabo Ledo, Miradouro do Sol and Sumbe) which
helped the pupils to have a better understating of the sedimentary rocks, the soil, the rivers and basic
understanding of the oil genesis.
