1. October 5th Evil truth Genesis 3:1-7
1. Evil questions the Word of God
a. “Did God ACTUALLY say?”
b. Evil takes what God actually says and twists it to deceive you and bring
Evils plan to bear
2. Evil lies about the Word of God
a. “You WILL NOT surely die”
b. Oh, yes you will – spiritually and physically without God
3. Evil promotes the flesh
a. “You will be like God, knowing good and evil”
b. Telling Flesh it can have everything it desires is a powerful tool in Evils
armory
i. Ear tickling preachers
ii. New Age fakes
iii. “Chicken in the Pot” politicians AND MORE
iv. It is hard for flesh to push aside Santa Claus!
4. Evil tempts flesh to rebel against God
a. “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a
delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,* she
took of its fruit and ate,…” ESV
5. Evil leads flesh to tempt flesh
a. “and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.”
6. Evil brings pain to flesh
a. “Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew they were naked.”
b. You might wonder why this was painful
2. i. Their eyes opened to the knowledge of good and evil
ii. They were aware of sin
iii. They brought sin, pain and disease into their lives
iv. They were now accountable
1. Before they were protected by their obedience and innocence
a. Now that was gone.
7. Evil brings separation from AND fear of God
a. “The man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord
God…”
b. God wants to be with us
c. Sin separates us
i. Jeremiah 5:24-25 “They do not say in their hearts, 'Let
us fear the LORD our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn
rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the
harvest.' Your iniquities have turned these away, and your sins have kept
good from you.” ESV
8. Evil is against you
a. That Serpent of Old, satan – was NOT on Adam and Eves Side
b. John 10:7-10a “So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am
the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the
sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be
saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and
kill and destroy……. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

9. Evil is NOT Eternal
a. Evil and good do not coexist in some kind of symbiotic relationship where
they need each other.
i. No Ying and Yang
3. ii. One day God will utterly and completely Destroy evil -
And what we call GOOD today
iii. Only Faith, Hope and Love will remain
10. God is FOR YOU
a. Galatians 1:3-5 “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil
age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever
and ever. Amen.” ESV
b. John 10:10b “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
c. Romans 8:31-33 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us,
who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for
us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall
bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.”
