Dear Bob,
I encourage you to write a story about the event Go Nutz for Nuts to get those nut and
candy lovers informed about these sales Girl Scouts of Central California South put on
yearly since not a lot of people seem to know about them.
The event is for all ages but it is target to young children. Anyone who loves nature,
nuts, or has young children is welcome to come. Although it is a family event, those
between the ages of 6 and 12- years-old will do the scavenger hunt while getting to be
around nature. The rest of the family is welcome to tag along and enjoy what nature has
to offer without helping the participants with finding the items. Toward the end of the
event prize giveaways will be given to further promote the nut and candy sales. While
waiting for the event to start, anyone is welcome to get their face painted and join in
dancing since music will be playing.
The event will be held in Woodward Park on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 right before the
start of the new Nuts and Candy selling season. The event will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
With the sales made during the Nut and Candy selling season, girls will have the
opportunity to set and achieve goals, improve their financial literacy, and learn about
teamwork through activities. They will only be to do successfully if they are able to sell
to a larger clientele. Ultimately with their combined Nut and Candy sales along with their
magazines sales of more than $500, the Girl Scout will earn Council Nut Bucks, which
can be used for books, uniforms, membership fees and admission to council programs.
Spokespeople will be available for interviews before and after the event. I would be
please to put you in touch with them. You will also have the opportunity to take pictures
throughout the event. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ruby De La O
