I targeted drama students. -Dramatic language, exaggeration, over the top.-Articles and cover lines are about shows and acting.-Action shots to give a real feel of how the show was.-Young language, but no slang, more sophisticated view as the audience are quite serious about it.-All the images were of young people, identification.-model’s are people who the audience look up to and aspire to be; successful performers.
The most similar magazine to my product is ‘Broadway’ Magazine, which is distributed by a digital distribution company named Magcloud. Magcloud is a website that prints magazines on demand, meaning that consumers can order as many or as few copies as they want. The magazine is available by order, as it is a very specialist product and most newsagents would not stock it, which is why I think thatit would be a good distributor to use as smaller, specialist companies can order copies, but so can individuals as they deliver amounts to order. There is no cost to the producer, the customers pay the distributor and they take a percentage of the profits.
More...-Quite quirky, unusual, dramatic characters, from focus group.-Confident, usually have aspirations of working on stage, television or in film.-Enjoy stage shows and film adaptations of them.-Generally listen to a variety of other music as well as Broadway music - Questionnaire
Main article – About a musical - Use action shots of a performance.Other articles – not just on theatre music, other things as they have other likes and hobbies outside of Broadway music.Layout- unique, quirky, artistic; double page, yearbook look.House style- Colours; red, white and black in general, suitable for males and females. -Red has connotations of fame, the red carpet, red curtain, appeals to men and women. -Black and white together have connotations of sophistication and classical. -Fonts are quite bold, stand out, like the target audience.Language- very dramatic adjectives -article is very over the top and enthusiastic. -use of pronouns, so they identify with the magazine. -Front cover - Gradient due to light and dark in image, outline, stands out.Font very similar to Grease

The preliminary project gave us a chance to experiment and adjust to Photoshop. To learn how to lay out a magazine according to conventions. How much research goes into making a product. How simple details can affect the whole product. That everything from the colours to the images to the language used, give a certain message to the reader.
