This document summarizes the key things the student learned in creating a magazine portfolio project for their media studies class. They started by researching real magazine conventions for covers, contents pages, and spreads. For their cover, they used a large eye-catching image with text and included numbers to attract readers. Their contents page balanced information and images effectively. For spreads, they experimented with layout, color, and varied image styles. Throughout the process, the student learned new skills in Photoshop for manipulating images and effective page design principles. They also gained experience directing photo shoots and improving their photography skills. Comparing their preliminary and final work showed increased understanding of the software and production skills.
