This document provides directions for a research paper on the death penalty. Students are asked to research specific court cases where the death penalty was issued and state whether they are generally for or against the death penalty. They are then directed to analyze several specific death penalty cases, stating whether they agree with the punishment in each case and explaining their reasoning. Finally, students are asked to consider whether cases involving testimony from two specific doctors should be re-opened given potential innocence and, if so, how justice and compensation should be achieved.
