The photographer had to make decisions around lighting, angle, and focus to capture the group photo. They used a single lamp for lighting and had to position it low to properly illuminate the subjects while also capturing the shot from a distance to get everyone in frame. While the lighting worked, the lack of a flash meant the photo did not have a professional look. The photographer was trying to convey a message of unity and togetherness through the composition and representation of the group. They were pleased with the result but thought it could be improved by taking another photo.
