About the Survey
We surveyed over 750 corporate IT professionals in the United
States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain to understand
their existing data management and protection practices and their
ability to comply with various requirements outlined in the EU
GDPR.
The survey was fielded in April 2017 and targeted IT professionals
across a variety of business categories, including financial services,
healthcare, government, technology, automotive, retail, media and
entertainment and professional services.

As specified by the EU GDPR,
individuals have the right to have
personal data erased when:

• Personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for
which it was originally collected/processed
• The individual withdraws consent
• The individual objects to the processing and there is no overriding
legitimate interest for continuing the processing
• The personal data was unlawfully processed (i.e. otherwise in breach of
the GDPR)
• The personal data has to be erased in order to comply with a legal
obligation
• The personal data is processed in relation to the offer of information
society services to a child
