The Hammer Lab at Hofstra University was observed for ethnographic research. The lab contained 29 students between ages 19-22 using school-designated computers. Most students had headphones in and appeared focused on their studies. A few students gathered to discuss printer and wifi issues in their dorms. One student was disturbing others by playing loud music.

The Hammer Lab, one of

ethnographic research.
The lab consisted of 29
students, 25 of them using
school designated
computers. Everyone was
within the age range of 19-
22.
It was a highly calm and
quiet setting. Majority of the
people have headphones in
their ears and seem busy
with their studies.
Many students who are not
working on the designated
school Mac’s, have their own
MacBook laptops.
Around 5 students gather in a
corner and discuss their
problems with the printers,
along with the weak wifi
connections in their dorm
rooms.
The man in the black hoodie
plays his music very loudly,
which is disturbing the other
students trying to study.
