The document discusses an ethical dilemma involving a child whose well-being is in question. The nurse noticed the child seemed uncomfortable with the mother's boyfriend and unwilling to interact with others. Though child protective services found no issues, the nurse and others feel concern for the child's welfare. The best option is to report the case to child protective services and the state office of children and family services to ensure the child's long-term safety and well-being are protected, even though doing so may upset some involved parties. As advocates for patients, nurses have an ethical duty to report any situation that could undermine a child's health or the role of the healthcare system.

Introduction to Human Services Counseling/HSCO 500
OUTLINE
It is important to ensure that children under the foster system care receive undying love and care from the people assigned different jobs in the system. There has been lots of research developed on the issue the primary concern being on child welfare in the human profession based on the foster care systems.
Thesis statement: assessment of the child well-being in the personal business based on the foster care systems.
I. Introduction
Being under the care of people in shelters does not guarantee the safety or rather efficient welfare for children since there are challenges they face, and it is equally important to focus on the issues. In that case, the caregivers must assume the role of a mother and meet their responsibilities regardless of the difficulties. However, at times, it is usually contrary from these, and instead, the caregivers make the lives of these children miserable.
II. Child welfare under foster cares systems overview
A. Introduction
i. Individuals involved; The article pays attention to the foster system caregivers and their significant responsibilities to vulnerable children. To offer support and facilitate foster caregivers it is significant to have an insight on ways they perceive and meet their responsibilities. The analysis was conducted through interview conduction on twenty women who have the responsibility to offer care to the children in the foster homes in Australia. From the examination, these women see themselves as mothers to these kids rather than paid employees. The article also reveals the difficulties and challenges participants go through when taking care of these children in the foster systems. The paper offers crucial information on the challenges the employee in the children welfare foster systems go through, and it will help in making comparisons.
ii. Foster system regulations; There are challenges that children in the foster systems go through, and this article points out one of these, which is maltreatment in foster care. The article draws on a crucial review of a study published in America, the UK, and Australia. The evidence that exists on this issue is inconclusive though the limited available information implies that maltreatment may be recorded for up to two percent of the kids in foster systems annually. The primary focus of the article is of the perpetrators and the abuse nature and the substantiation problems. The article is of importance in this research because it outlines the challenges in the foster care system and the factors that increase these risks on the children and what can be done to correct the situation.
iii. Conditions for a child to be under the foster care system; Different reasons make children be pla ...

Child Abuse
Introduction
This research paper will involve the reviewing of the issue of child abuse. Child abuse is an issues that has been happening in the society since the ancient times. However, in the modern world, the categorization and the definition of child abuse has changed. Definition of child abuse will involve the inclusion of the different forms of the abuse, common modes of child abuse and the interventions that can be used for addressing of the issues of child abuse. There are different reasons as to why the research study about child abuse is important in the current world, due to the fact that the gathering of data and information about child abuse will help in the devising of strategies and ways of addressing this crisis. According to reports by different organizations such as World Health Organization(WHO), most of the cases of child abuse can be avoided or even treated. Forms of child abuse such as physical, sexual, neglect and even emotional or psychological abuse can be prevented through understanding them.
Rationale for the selection of the topic of child abuse as a research paper is to pass information to the people about the adverse effects associated with child abuse, interventions which can be used for addressing the issue of child abuse and the possible reasons for the increase in the cases of child abuse in the modern world. Consequently, researching on this topic of child abuse helps in the minimization of cots that would have been incurred fostering care, counselling in the family as well medical care. Rationally, most people still have the mentality and perception that child abuse is characterized by the old definitions of working in farms and factories as well as plantations. However, in the current world, child abuse has been revolutionized as well. Issues of sexual abuse and exploitation, such as trafficking, rape and commercial sex are emerging issues in child abuse. Adverse effects of child abuse are normally evident due to the fact that some aspects of child abuse such as emotional hardly heal (Jud, Andreas, Jörg M. Fegert, and David Finkelhor, 17). Due to the fact that issues of child abuse have been ignored in the society, analysis and research on this issue will help in the addressing and handling of this issue.
Background
Different definitions and forms of child abuse have been suggested by both scholars and researchers. Basically, child abuse or even child maltreatment involves the previously identified forms, that is sexual, emotional, neglect and physical. Most of the countries have been sensitizing on the issue of child abuse, with these four notable forms of child abuse having penalties and custody depending on the seriousness of the case. Different perceptions and ideas have been presented with regard to corporal punishmen.

Introduction
The aim of the paper will be to analyze child abuse. The history of the social problem, impact, persuasion campaigns, altruistic behavior and impact of the intervention methods will also be provided. Child abuse has become a common social phenomenon that is worth addressing. Unless the intervention strategies and persuasive elements are utilized, minimizing the incidences of child abuse will be a major challenge.
Nature and history of your issue
The society is grappling with the increased rates of child abuse. The phenomenon has been attributed to a rise in poverty levels and domestic violence. Child abuse takes different forms, which include inflicting pain through beating, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and child labor. The history of child abuse can be traced to the 18th century, especially during the industrial revolution (Bragg, 2003). Children were perceived as the source of cheap labor, therefore, were high demand in industries. Today, through concerted efforts of various government and human rights activists, the explicit forms of child abuse have been on the decrease. However, issues of child neglect, emotional abuse, and child labor remain a significant challenge.
According to the 2013 National Statistics on Child Abuse (NSCA), it was estimated that about 1,520 children below the age of 18 died of child abuse. The NSCA report indicated that close to 3.1 million children in the country were victims of maltreatment. As a result, the children received preventative services from various Child agencies in the U.S. close to 80% of the cases were related to child neglect. The report indicated that 2% of the children were victims of sexual abuse while 18% suffered physical abuse. Additionally, the report noted that both parents caused most of the violations.
In 2014, there was a rise in the number of children receiving emotional support from the Child Protective Services compared to the previous. Despite the child abuse campaigns, statistics indicated that cases of child neglect were still on the rise. In 2014, the victims of sexual abuse were more compared to those of physical abuse. It was reported that more than 205,438 were victims of sexual abuse compared to 60,897, who were the victims of physical abuse.
Contrary to the belief that strangers propagate ill-treatment of children, specifically sexual assault, studies provide a different perspective. It is reported that most of the abuses are committed by people who are close to the children, including their parents and close relatives (Sherman &.Holden, 2009) Demanding careers and poverty are some of the major issue factors contributing to child abuse. As mentioned before, neglect has been on the rise. Thi.

Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

An Ethical Dilemma. Making A Moral Decision
According to Marquis and Huston (2015), a moral decision-making model constitutes an
amalgamation of principles of bioethics and nursing process. Bioethics in the nursing field seeks
to resolve ethical issues nurses encounter in the course of their work that involves assessing,
diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating patients while upholding the principles of
autonomy, beneficence, and justice.
In addressing ethical dilemma using the decision-making model, it is critical to collect all
the necessary data and in formatting regarding the case. In the current case (A nagging
uneasiness) there are underlying cases if child abuse and neglect. The parents of the child are
embroiled in a divorce case, and the father is concerned about the possible mistreatment of the
child and the child is uncomfortable with the current mother’s boyfriend who is making the child
irritable and unwilling to interact with strangers. Although the Child Protective Services did not
identify any irregularities, it is critical to ensure the child receives the necessary attention. To
address the plight of the child, the nurse, social work department, the ethical department and
physician should collaborate in the process of decision-making.
Having had to bring up a child a child who has been bruised from various activities, I
have come to acknowledge the importance of empathetic concerns. Having provided for the
child and being benevolent to all children at my child’s age, I have come to appreciate the
importance of understanding early sign warning.
I highly relate to the case of the child having have cared for a similar child; it is easy to
find my values as relating to deontological approach. Deontological ethics highlights the
importance of the principle of duty or doing once duty or responsibility regardless of

consequences. As such, I could be guided not to intervene in the case because we are unsure of
the consequences. However, as a nurse, I have a deontologic responsibility to ensure my clients
receive the best services (Wilson, 2013).
In the moral decision-making model, it is essential to outline all the possible alternatives
and their consequences. The possible alternatives in the current case include ignoring the plight
of the child, calling social service, reporting to CPS, or reporting to the state office of children
and family services. In the first alternative (do nothing), the child may continue expressing abuse
and neglect, thus making the alternative the least appealing. The second alternative is to inform
the social work department. Given that the patient and all the involved parties have departed, the
alternative is moderately weak. Thirdly, the involved parties can report the case to the state
office to children and family services. Although the physician, the supervisor, and OCFS may be
angered, it is the most viable alternative that may guarantee long-term security of the child, other
factors may influence the integrity of the alternative.
The most viable alternative is to inform the CPS and OCFS. As a registered nurse, I have
an advocacy role that compels me to act on behalf of the client at a policy level. Nurses are
expected to report any case that violates the interest of the patient or undermines the critical role
of health care system.
Although the decision to report the case may be unpopular, it is the only sure way to
ensure that not only the health of the child but also the security and overall wellbeing of the child
is maintained. An evaluation of the case indicates the complex nature of nursing practice and the
importance of having up-to-date information and patient-centered care.
