A business model describes how an organization creates, captures, and
delivers value to its customers. Every business performs some activity
with the intention of generating value for its customers. At a conceptual
level, what does that look like and what existing businesses can you point
to as examples to determine that your model is sound?
Identifying your business model is helpful for two important reasons.
First, by studying businesses with a similar business model, you can
increase your own odds of success—an activity referred to as modeling.
Second, it provides a blueprint by which you can begin taking action to
define your business model. If you already have a model, you still can
make improvements or reinvent it by comparing it to well-established
models—an activity referred to as benchmarking.

MODELS

Seven business model
archetypes
After spending considerable time mapping the various business models
online, we began to realize that many of the models were similar. We
observed there are fundamentally three archetypes that drive all business
models: Trade, Product, and Service. This was a breakthrough observa-
tion for us, because it paved the way for the model we then created.
Just as a color wheel starts with three primary colors and derives a set
of basic colors from the original three (red, green, blue), we’ve done
the same with our model. Many of the interesting online businesses are
hybrids of two of the three primaries; we call these the hybrid archetypes.
They include the Marketplace, Brokerage, and Subscription models.
And lastly there is the Ecosystem, which possesses traits of all three
primary archetypes.
Figure 6.1 illustrates this framework, which can be a useful place to start
thinking about how to structure your business. To make this framework
more useful, we also overlaid two prototypes to demonstrate each arche-
type. These prototypes are more defined and actionable models of the
more abstract archetype concept. This is not an exhaustive list of possible
prototypes, just a set of examples that illustrate the concept and provide
actionable material that you can use. Following the detailed description
of each archetype, we provide a list of the prototypes and a set of exam-
ples for each that appear to be succeeding online.
Trade
Trade is the primary archetype that describes the business of connect-
ing buyers and sellers, rather than offering something to be bought or
sold. The trader is the consummate “connector” who knows everyone
and helps to make introductions. Profits are generated by commission or
arbitrage, not by selling units or hours.

Marketplace as a Supplier - Transforming Indirect ProcurementMarkit
To complement Markit’s recent report Optimising Indirect Procurement With Marketplaces, Andres Agasild, Markit CEO & Co-Founder, gave a presentation (MARKETPLACE AS A SUPPLIER: TRANSFORMING INDIRECT PROCUREMENT) to more than 100 CPOs and other procurement experts from around the globe at the World Procurement Congress Virtual 2020. This is the slide deck that accompanied the presentation.
You're Too Focused on Product/Market Fit - Brian Balfour at SaaSFest 2016Price Intelligently
Over the past ten years, software gurus have been preaching the notion that you need to find product/market fit. Balfour presents an extremely cogent argument that because of the speed of technology now, this advice is no longer valid. In reality, you need to find market, product, channel, model fit (in that order). Balfour lays out his argument in this presentation at Price Intelligently's SaaSFest 2016 by cataloging his experience over his career and view of the market.
As a product manager, your entire job revolves around deciding what you need to do next, in other words, having a product strategy. Successful product strategy means balancing all factors such as internal capabilities, competitive landscape, user needs and available opportunities. Moharyar discusses these challenges and provides a few simple frameworks one can apply to assess which direction to take to ensure the overall success of their product.
Moharyar has over 5 years’ experience as a product manager, working for companies such as Apple, Bell and Loblaw Digital. Moharyar is passionate about early stage start-ups and is a lead instructor for Product Management at BrainStation. His background in engineering, combined with his Master's in Business Administration from Queen's University, has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of product management. Moharyar blogs on popular Product concepts and at one point was the number 1 “Most Viewed Author” on Minimum Viable Product on Quora.

Step 2 Attend Meeting with ACME· Read the ACME meeting documen.docxrjoseph5
Step 2: Attend Meeting with ACME
· Read the ACME meeting document to know what was discussed.
Step 3: Review Marketing Information on Consumer Buying Behavior
· Read all attached step 3 documents to answer questions in step 4.
· As you read through the following materials, begin to think about how this information will apply to the report you will prepare for Erik and Tarek. To successfully complete the report, you'll need an understanding of marketing. You’ll also benefit from a keen understanding of digital marketing, consumer buying behavior, and evaluating business attractiveness.
· As you conduct your analysis of ACME's consumer environment, remember that there are two types of market research: primary and secondary research. Both types of research are required in real-life, and each of them has its pros and cons. However, for this Project, only secondary research is required.
· Finally, to fully understand ACME's position, read about offerings—what a company provides its customers, be it a product, a service, or a mix of both. Also consider the differences between a product and a service. You know that a product can be more than just a physical good, it can be a service attached to a physical product, a "pure" service, an idea, a place, an organization, or even a person.
· After you have read these materials, proceed to the next step, where you will begin your analysis of the specified consumer markets
Step 4: Conduct a Consumer Buying Behavior Study
As previously mentioned, I would like you to conduct an analysis of the consumers in our main markets. Your analysis should consider both current and potential product users and should address the following questions:
· What needs are being met by the product purchase? What are the benefits to the consumers? Make sure that you differentiate between features and benefits; go beyond manifest motives and consider latent motives.
· Who is involved in the purchase process? Who are the influencers? Who are the buyers? Who are the end users?
· Where are the products sold, and what are the distribution channels?
· How often are the products purchased? Is there seasonality to sales?
I need you to produce a six-page preliminary consumer buying behavior report (excluding cover page, reference list, tables, graphs, and exhibits) explaining your findings on consumer needs, wants, and preferences in these markets. Make sure that your report is specific to consumers of ACME’s potential product and not to consumers in general.
Step 5: Complete Your Value Proposition
· I wanted to clarify that a customer-focused value proposition explains the reason why a customer purchases a product or uses a service (i.e., the value that a company delivers to its customers).
· Deliverable: (complete this part separate from step 2-4) Based on your research of consumer needs in our main markets, describe your value proposition, or the benefits that ACME and its potential new product would provide to customers. Remember.

We live in a disrupted world, because of this – procurement has to transform itself and become digitally adept in it’s own right. This e-transformation of procurement is a MUST if procurement wants to further increase the value it delivers to organizations and, therefore, survive.
The procurement organization of the future must be effective, efficient, and sustainable.
This requires a “global” approach to defining and executing the “E-Transformation” focusing on the three pillars that are: people, process, and technology.

Marginal Costing
Definition: Marginal Costing is a costing technique wherein the marginal cost, i.e. variable cost is charged to units of cost, while the fixed cost for the period is completely written off against the contribution.
The term marginal cost implies the additional cost involved in producing an extra unit of output, which can be reckoned by total variable cost assigned to one unit. It can be calculated as:
Marginal Cost = Direct Material + Direct Labor + Direct Expenses + Variable Overheads
Characteristics of Marginal Costing
1) Classification into Fixed and Variable Cost: Costs are bifurcated, on the basis of variability into fixed cost and variable costs. In the same way, semi variable cost is separated.
2) Valuation of Stock: While valuing the finished goods and work in progress, only variable cost are taken into account. However, the variable selling and distribution overheads are not included in the valuation of inventory.
3) Determination of Price: The prices are determined on the basis of marginal cost and marginal contribution.
4) Profitability: The ascertainment of departmental and product’s profitability is based on the contribution margin.
Features of Marginal Costing
1) Marginal Costing is a technique of decision making.
2) The total cost is classified into fixed and variable cost.
3) Fixed cost are ascertained separately and excluded from cost of production. The fixed costs are charged to Profit and loss account.
4) The stock of work in Progress and finished goods are valued at variable cost. Fixed cost will not be included in valuation of the stock.
5) Contribution is ascertained by reducing the variable cost from the selling price.
6) The profitability of products or process is determined on the basis of contribution.
7) Profit is ascertained by reducing the fixed cost from the contribution of all the products or departments or process or division etc.
8) The profitability of various levels of activity is ascertained by calculating cost volume profit relationship.
Facts Concerning Marginal Costing
1) Cost Ascertainment: The basis for ascertaining cost in marginal costing is the nature of cost, which gives an idea of the cost behavior, that has a great impact on the profitability of the firm.
2) Special technique: It is not a unique method of costing, like contract costing, process costing, batch costing. But, marginal costing is a different type of technique, used by the managers for the purpose of decision making. It provides a basis for understanding cost data so as to gauge the profitability of various products, processes and cost centers.
3) Decision Making: It has a great role to play, in the field of decision making, as the changes in the level of activity pose a serious problem to the management of the undertaking.
Organizational Challenge of Enterprise RoadmappingRich Mironov
At INDUSTRY EUROPE conference (Dublin, April 2019): Especially at enterprise software companies, there are some inherent mis-alignments among internal stakeholders that can complicate our product planning. This talk was an occasionally humorous look at the systemic conflicts between single-account-focused sales teams, market-focused product managers, and executives. How do we respect and understand each other when we may have very different objectives?

Clima y Compromiso Organizacional Oxford Group Red Globe
Auto estima y conciencia.

Negocios Internacionales Oxford Group

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

CRM Initiatives at TATA Motors Ltd.
Given that the customer is king (or queen), it would be logical to presume that establishing — and
nurturing — a relationship with such royalty is a priority for enterprises looking to sell a product or
service. Fact is, it may be a priority but organisations rarely pay more than lip service to what goes
by the grandiose nomenclature of customer relationship management. For Tata Motors, though, this
has always been an imperative.
It made eminent sense for India’s premier automobile company — with over 1 million customers,
22,000 employees and a geographically fragmented business that operates out of 1,600 locations in
a notoriously cyclic business environment — to put many eggs in the relationship management
basket. But this was an idea cooked in the cauldron of adversity.
Tata Motors got started on what it has tagged the customer relationship management-dealer
management system (CRM-DMS) at the turn of the millennium, when it was battling to regain
relevance at a difficult time in its history. That’s when it realised that survival in the auto business
depended on managing its relationships with its customers, dealers and anyone else who had a deep
connection with the mother company.
This was no mean task, considering the scale and complexity of the issues involved. Two
parameters — customers, and their interface with the company, the dealers — were the critical
links in a complex chain that Tata Motors had to deal with. The solution led to the emergence of
Tata Motors’ integrated CRM-DMS, which is today the largest such application in the automobile
industry worldwide, linking to more than 1,200 dealers across India and tracking the needs of some
25,000 customers.
Tata Motors had no standard or benchmark to model its solution on when the relationship concept
was first considered, back in 2002. The company realised that it had to look at the business in a
fundamentally different way. Instead of selling to the customer,...
