In this individual project, you are required to identify a busines.docxbradburgess22840
In this individual project, you are required to identify a business intelligence application (system) in an industry or organisation and explain how the system can help and/or support these businesses improve their functional activities and gain competitive advantages. Alternatively, you are required to identify a problem in an industry or organisation and explain how a Business Intelligence solution can help and/or support these businesses improve their functional activities and gain competitive advantages. These might include, decision making, organizational performance issues, data and information issues and any other relevant BI issues. You BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE – Individual Report
will be required to write a business report in Word and develop a clear discussion derived from the relevant literature related to your topic. You are encouraged to use examples of BI tools or applications to illustrate the findings in your report. Examples are the spreadsheet package Excel, database application Access, BI tools like SAS, Cognos etc., development programs, diagrams, charts and tables that help better understand your report.
The report should be targeted at the Board of Directors or Executive Management group and be formatted as a formal business report. The content of the report, including tables and graphs must be appropriate for a Senior Management audience.Assignment focus:
There is a large amount of information available on Business Intelligence. I suggest that you identify key themes described in the course and use those themes as a basis of their analysis. This approach will give you the ability to study the key aspects of the course at a reasonable depth.
While the theoretical underpinnings of the assignment will be primarily drawn from lectures/seminars, tutorials and the textbook, students are expected to supplement this with academic and practitioner-based literature.
A limitation of this assignment is that you have only got a short period of time to identify, collect, analyse, and report on your findings. Assessment of your work will take this into account as long as you demonstrate a “reasonable attempt”
Narrow down your focus to an issue/problem that is small enough to allow you to complete your analysis in 6 to 8 weeks while avoiding addressing a trivial issue.
Use tables and graphs, as appropriate, to communicate your findings and recommendations
Criteria guide for Project
A general guide used for marking is attached. A rubric will be used to assess and mark the project.
Section
Executive Summary
Introduction and Background. Describe the business context, the problem and the main aims of the report.
Literature review: relevant literature review to the topic, systems and/or the BI applications proposed in this report.

Theme: Digital Technology in Our Lives
Research Essay 2
Guided Research Writing / Fall 2016
Introduction to Assignment:
We have been exploring the theme of digital technology in our lives, which is related to our earlier
theme of academic integrity and our own experiences in this class. During our written and spoken
discussions, many ideas have arisen, including how much new technology has changed human’s lives
and possibly our brains, opinions and research on multitasking, the benefits and drawbacks of using new
technology, the typical panicked response throughout history when a new kind of technology is created,
and ways to reduce the negative effects of technology in everyday life.
Assignment Requirements:
For this assignment, you will write a 3 to 4 page essay (typed and double-spaced) that answers one of
the following questions:
1. How can new technologies such as the Internet be used most effectively? In other words, how
can we minimize their negative effects and enhance their positive effects?
2. When the written language began to be widely used in Greece in the fourth century B.C.,
Socrates, a philosopher of the time, opposed it, saying that writing was a lot less flexible than
oral language and also that it would have a negative effect on our mind, destroying our ability to
memorize. What are some similar objections to the development of new technology?
3. How have new technologies such as the Internet affected education?
To successfully complete this assignment, you group must support your thesis with a variety of evidence
from at least three of our sources.

Assignment Television Commercial AnalysisPurposeTo assess y.docxssuser562afc1
Assignment: Television Commercial Analysis
Purpose
To assess your ability to:
· Collect marketing data
· Analyze commercials for target markets
· Evaluate various marketing tactics
Overview
Have you ever watched a television commercial and wondered who the target market was for that commercial? While the content of the commercial, including the message and applied marketing messages, is created for a specific group or groups, content is only one part of the entire process of advertising used in a television commercial. Also consider the importance of time of day and the program during which the commercial is shown.
For this assignment, you will evaluate commercials that appear during your favorite television show. Your focus must be on the commercials rather than on the show. We strongly suggest that you record the show with all the commercials. This will allow you to go back and review the commercials thoroughly. Ultimately, you will consider various aspects of the commercials, including the goods and/or services, the messages, the marketing messages of appeals (e.g., the use of humor, fear, sex, rational), and the target market.
Action Items
1. Watch and record one episode of one of your favorite half-hour-long television programs. If you do not have the means to record the show at your home, consider doing so at a family member's or friend's house. If these options are not available, do your best to take detailed notes of each commercial. The program needs to be at least 30 minutes in length. Rationale for recording the show is detailed in the Overview.
2. Observe and evaluate the commercials that appear from the break prior to the show through the break following the end of the show. Include in your document your notes about each commercial using the list below. Place these notes in an appendix to your document. Your notes for each commercial will include:
A. The product name and description (e.g., McDonald's fun meal or McDonald's Quarter Pounder).
B. The message of the commercial (e.g., healthy skin is good, invest in gold, eat here during our happy hour).
C. The advertising appeal that was used (humor, fear, sex, informational).
D. A description of who you believe to be the commercial's target market (e.g., married males, in their 30s or 40s, middle- class, some college, homeowner, athletic, are do-it-yourself type of people).
3. Conduct secondary research (e.g., search for the program website or any other credible sites) to determine the main intended audience of the television program that you watched. Include proper citations for your sources.
4. Write a 5-page document in which you:
A. Compare and contrast the different commercials shown during the program. Describe the main themes that you noticed.
B. Compare the target market for the commercials to the primary or intended main audience of the television show. Did some of the commercials seem "out of place?" Did some commercials fit better than others for this program? Provi ...

MovieFlix Company is faced majorly with the problem of marketing and customer loyalty, specifically the challenge of marketing and locating potential customers and retaining the existing ones effectively (Sin, et al, 2005).
For any company, one thing that they must be clear about is that the customers they have are not exploitable sources of income but rather business assets that are to be nurtured overtime (Sin, et al, 2005) but as for MovieFlix it has not managed to retain the few customers it has. Without customers the business cannot run, and as for MovieFlix with the challenge it has of maintaining the customers it has and worse to it locating and identifying new ones is becoming difficult as the days go by, how then can it flourish in business? This totally is a problem that can, and in the long run will, paralyze the company to liquidation if not solved as early as possible.
Since the 1990s, customer loyalty has been a very popular marketing strategy because it has been seen as the major driver of any company’s profitability (Reichheld et al, 2000) but as for MovieFlix it is yet to adopt this strategy. Having customers who are very loyal to the company means certainty in income, and also gives a chance to the company to serve the customers well meeting their needs. Note, created customer loyalty is supposed to create profit overnight (Reinartz & Kumar, 2002).
Now, having a problem like this one for MovieFlix has got several causes and are interrelated somehow. One of the most likely cause specifically for MovieFlix is the leadership structure of the company. As seen, the structure is not that efficient to help the marketing department function efficiently (Duffy 2003). This may be due to ignorance or personal issues with the department heads, because the whole leadership should be united in helping the marketing department distribute their services efficiently and widely. It is awkward to have an efficient input yet the output is not efficient.
Another cause is the employee’s loyalty to the company. With the little help accorded to the marketing department, they are yet to explore maximum potent they have to market the company services (Heskett et al, 1992). Since I said the causes are related, this employee loyalty case for MovieFlix flows stems out from the problems in the leadership structure. It shows that the leadership of the company is yet to understand how employee loyalty is important (O’Brien & Jones, 1995) so that it moves to empower them maximize their energy whenever accorded a task. If the employees were very loyal to the company to maximize their potent then even if the leadership had issues it would not have affected the company’s pro ...
This communications proposal suggests that Night Raven Graphic Design adopt a standardized communication plan and style guide. The proposal would create uniform guidelines for internal and external communications like emails, memos, and documents. It aims to improve communication between employees and with customers, which is important for the company's success. The proposal discusses developing employee communication skills and creating a budget for distributing a communications manual. The goal is to establish a foundation for effective communication now and in the future.

Presentations
In a professional career, one may be called upon to conduct research and deliver findings in professional settings. No matter how extensive the research or accurate the conclusions, a weak presentation can undermine an argument. A presentation is a tool to assist in making an argument. When creating presentations, students develop skills in researching an issue, synthesizing the information, organizing data logically, and presenting findings in an effective manner.
Principles of an Effective Presentation:
· You may utilize a product such as Microsoft’s PowerPoint or Google Presentation to create your presentations.
· There are various template designs that you can find on the web for your presentation. However, first consider your presentation from the perspective of your audience prior to selecting a specific style. Distracting backgrounds, large blocks of text, all uppercase fonts, elaborate font styles, grammatical errors, and misspellings are distracting. Be consistent with the style of text, bullets, and sub-points in order to support a powerful presentation that allows your content to be the focus.
· Each slide should include your key point(s). Do not place large blocks of text on the visual. Your presentation is not a means of presenting a short paper. In an actual presentation you would not “read” from your slides but rather use them as prompts.
· Any notes or narration you would use in delivering this presentation to a group should be listed in the “notes” section of the slide.
· References should be listed at the bottom of the slide in slightly smaller text.
· Use clip art, AutoShapes, pictures, charts, tables, and diagrams to enhance but not overwhelm your content.
· Be mindful of the intended audience and seek to assess the presentation’s effectiveness by gauging audience comprehension (when possible).

1. Team assignment Activitya. CONTRACT DRAFTING PROJECT – A tea.docxpaynetawnya
1. Team assignment Activity:
a. CONTRACT DRAFTING PROJECT – A team presentation
b. TORTS PROJECT – A team presentation
We will set up the teams for this group assignment beforehand:
The Wahoo Team – Torts Team A – HH Team - Each assignment should have a minimum of at 2 citations/references
Be sure to refer to Multimedia Project and Oral Presentation Rubrics for these two team projects. I will give you further guidance about these projects once the course begins.
CONTRACT DRAFTING ASSIGNMENT (Team Project) should be no longer than 1 page.
For this activity, you will work in a team, represent an assigned client (either Wahoo or Almost Paradise), prepare an ideal contract, negotiate with another group, and submit a legally enforceable, agreed-upon contract. Prepare one document and make copies for the other team to review and negotiate. For the activity, you will assume the facts below.
Almost Paradise is a family owned, rustic lodge. The grounds are private and secluded. The housing includes seven individual cabins and a 10-room, lodge-styled guest house. They have done solid business for 10 years, primarily advertising Almost Paradise as the perfect “romantic get-away.” Recently, more competitors have located in the proximate area and business has slowed. Facing cash flow issues, Almost Paradise wants to create a marketing plan that will increase their exposure generally and broaden their appeal to families and outdoors enthusiasts.
Wahoo is a midsized company that specializes in drafting marketing plans for hotels, motels, and lodges. As part of their service they offer to provide overall consultation and create marketing plans rooted in print, television, radio, and the web.
Almost Paradise is interested in retaining Wahoo and securing their services for the next year. They have not found an alternative marketing company with which they are comfortable. Almost Paradise wants to do some intense marketing in the short term to drum up business for an upcoming busy-season. They also want to work on some longer-term efforts that they can unveil afterwards. Almost Paradise wants to focus on web and television mediums primarily, with some secondary print ads. They also want to reach out to all of their past customers. Wahoo’s business is somewhat slow right now and it is eager to secure the Almost Paradise contract.
· Draft an ideal contract: As a team, before negotiations begin, draft a contract which you consider a realistic “ideal” for your side. Submit that contract to the other party and the instructor in class on the due date and explain why you chose to include the provisions that you did (either through marginal annotations or a written summary or orally in class). What advantages have you secured for your client?
· Negotiate: In class, you will negotiate with the other team. The instructor will guide the format and how negotiations will begin. (One side can submit a proposal. Both sides can submi ...

The artist Georges Seurat is one of the world's most fascinating artists. His technique of pointillism was pivotal in inspiring future generations of painters to think about painting in both individualistic and non-conformist ways. This week's reading references many artists from different movements (i.e. Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci).
Conduct research on an artist from any movement that you find interesting. Choose one of their works. Analyze the image using the four visual cues from your reading: color, form, depth, and movement. Explain how the artist makes use of these four cues.
In your deconstruction of the image, also explain how the physiology of the eye helps you to see the four cues.

Below are some links that offer helpful tips and examples for developing your presentations:

The artist Georges Seurat is one of the worlds most fascinating art.docxSANSKAR20

In this week’s readings, a dispute in the French royal court is described about whether Poussin or Rubens was the better painter. Take a painting by each, either from our book or a Website below, and compare them and explain which you prefer. There is another conflict between the playwright Moliere and a well-born Parisian; Louis XIV stepped in. Explain how Louis XIV used the various arts and his motives for doing so. Identify one (1) example of a modern political leader approaching the arts this way.
The philosophers Thomas Hobbes and John Locke disagreed on the understanding of political authority, with Locke taking what is commonly called the “liberal” view. spill that

Virginia and interrupted
water deliveries to approximately
300,000 of that
state's residents has led to the introduction
of federal legislation aimed at preventing
the recurrence of such events.
Although improved protection of surface
water enjoys broad support, questions
have arisen as to who should oversee
and fijnd the additional regulatory
efforts called for in the bill.
On January 9 it was discovered that
thousands of gallons of chemicals used in
coal processing had leaked from storage
facilities at a tank farm located along the
Elk River in Charleston, West Virginia.
The chemicals entered the waterway approximately
1.5 mi upstream of a public
water supply intake, forcing officials
to recommend that residents of a ninecounty
area in and around Charleston
not use their drinking water. Lasting for
more than a week, this situation caused
considerable concern about health effects
and spurred calls for regulatory
protections.
On January 27 Senator Joe Manchin
(D-West Virginia) introduced the
Chemical Safety and Drinking Water
Protection Act of 2014 (S. 1961), legislation
that aims to protect surface water
from contamination from chemical
storage facilities. The bill would revise
the Safe Drinking Water Act to establish
state programs for overseeing and
inspecting chemical storage facilities
that are deemed to pose a risk to public
water sources. Within one year of enactment
of the legislation, states would
have to set requirements for chemical
storage facilities covered by the new
programs. These requirements would
address such topics as "acceptable standards
of good design, construction, or
maintenance," along with leak detection,
spill and overfill control, inventory
control, inspections of facility integrity.
and life-cycle maintenance, according to
the legislation.
Additional requirements would pertain
to emergency response and communication
plans, employee training and
safety plans, and the financial responsibility
of the owners of chemical storage
facilities. States would share with drinking
water providers the emergency response

The artist Georges Seurat is one of the worlds most fascinating art.docxSANSKAR20
The artist Georges Seurat is one of the world's most fascinating artists. His technique of pointillism was pivotal in inspiring future generations of painters to think about painting in both individualistic and non-conformist ways. This weeks reading references many artists from different movements (i.e.
This paper should be 2-3 pages long. Be sure to cite any resources using proper APA notation.

Edition Guidelines: Annotated Bibliography
An annotated bibliography is the full citation of a source followed by notes and commentary
about a source. The word “annotate” means “critical or explanatory notes” and the word “bibliography” means “a list of sources”. Annotations are not the same as abstracts. Abstracts
are purely descriptive summaries often found at the beginning of scholarly/ academic journal articles. Annotations are meant to be critical in addition to being descriptive.
Format:
The format for an annotated bibliography is similar to that of a research paper. Use one-inch margins on all sides, double-space your entries, and arrange each entry in alphabetical order. Hanging Indents are required for citations in the bibliography, as shown below. The first line of the citation starts at the left margin and subsequent lines of the citation will be indented.

This article discusses the problem of unintentional online plagiarism and many
students’ inability to evaluate, critique, synthesize, and credit online sources properly.
Two case studies from different disciplines, which were designed to foster critical evaluation of the Internet and scholarly sources, are discussed in detail. The CARS (Credibility, Accuracy, Reasonableness, Support) checklist for evaluating research sources is also introduced and applied in these case studies. I found this article useful because much of the content of these case studies can be easily adapted to fit assignments in different academic disciplines. One information literacy assignment in one quarter at college is not enough. If students are expected to use the Internet in a responsible way, educators must provide guidelines and relevant experience that allows students to apply those guidelines in practical ways.

The goal is to create characters and a voice that feel authentic to adolescence and would be appealing to adolescents to read.
For example, identity, coming-of-age, romantic relationships, work/school balance, and firsts (kiss, car, job, etc.) are a few of the relevant topics for this age group, although there are any number of topics you could use in your own version.
Instructions:
A “scene” would be about two pages of text, taking place in one location, where characters are present in that scene and interacting in some way. Some scenes may further character, most will probably further plot, some may further theme or emotion -- the crucial part is just to have dialogue and description and be sure to show rather than tell when appropriate.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Identify the company's mission statement.
Netflix’s mission statement states that ‘Netflix’s core strategy
is to grow our streaming subscription business domestically and
globally. We are continuously improving the customer
experience, with a focus on expanding our streaming content,
enhancing our user interface and extending our streaming
service to even more Internet-connected devices, while staying
within the parameters of our consolidated net income and
operating segment contribution profit targets
Identify the company's vision statement.
Netflix’s vision statement is to become the best global
entertainment distribution service. To license entertainment
content around the world, creating markets that are accessible to
film makers and helping content creators around the world to
find a global audience.
Explain what role these have in the way the business operates.
The success of any company is based on adherence to its
foundations. The foundation of any company is structured on
the mission and vision statement that guided its ‘birth’. Any
deviation from the foundation leads to loss of authenticity.
Netflix is an entertainment company that focuses on providing
its customers with high quality entertainment at all times.
Since its inception in the year 1997, the company has made a lot
of progress in terms of service delivery. As of the year 2010,
Netflix provided services to about 125 million people in over
190 countries (Sundet & Bakøy, 2017). This huge success is
attributed to Netflix’s adherence to its vision and mission.
The vision and mission affect Netflix’s operations in the
following ways;
11. Netflix has ventured into investment in real estate. In 2016, the
company assigned funds that were directed towards building its
own studios. The decision to build actual offices/studios where
customers can access Netflix personnel was meant to help
improve customer services. The mission statement clearly
indicates that the company is focused on improving customer
service. When people have accessible tangible offices that they
can visit when seeking services, they tend to trust a company
more. This is because the human mind tends to trust tangible
things compared to virtual things. By building offices in
different parts of the world, Netflix became more reliable and
dependable.
The vision statement contains a clause that states ‘to focus on
expanding our streaming content.’ Since the year 2016, Netflix
changed its operation system of specifically providing TV series
and movies that the company had obtained streaming rights.
Netflix took up a new channel of providing original content so
as to improve the quantity and quality of movies and TV series
that viewers can access. Provision of original content on
Netflix has helped increase the number of Netflix subscribers.
The mission statement states that the company’s aim is to
become the best global entertainment distribution service. As of
the year 2018, Netflix already operates its own CDN called
Open Connect (Jenner, 2016). The system enables the company
to provide better streaming services when compared to other
companies in the same industry.
Evaluate whether the company's actions seem to align with their
vision and mission statements.
An analysis on the above mentioned strategies proves that
Netflix has aligned itself to its mission and vision in the
following ways;
Building Netflix offices has helped assure Netflix customers
12. that their queries can be addressed whenever they need help.
This is a sure step towards meeting the mission statement goals.
Adopting a CDN of its own has helped ensure that people have
better streaming experiences. Unique streaming experiences are
one of the major responsibilities that the company has
committed itself to in its vision statement.
The above examples prove that the company has made a lot of
progress in working towards meeting all the standards outlined
in the two company policies.
Examine how the mission and vision of the organization might
affect or guide you as an employee or manager in the company.
As a Netflix employee, my operations within the company will
be greatly affected by Netflix’s mission and vision. Some of the
ways in which my operations will be regulated include;
Provision of high quality services- Both the mission and vision
of the company requires that customers are provided with high
quality services (Daidj & Egert, 2018). If assigned duties in the
new Netflix offices, my interaction with the customers will have
to reflect good customer service. The kind of interaction that I
have with them will determine how satisfied they are.
Although the company focuses on going global, its mission
dictates that its operations lie within its consolidated net
income. This clause implies that I need to ensure that I do not
go overboard when it comes to spending the company’s
finances. Every investment/expenditure that I incur on behalf of
the company has to be within the company’s financial
capability.
From its vision, it’s clear that Netflix is a global company. The
manner in which international companies operate is different
from what happens in local companies. The kind of planning
that is done has to be one that is acceptable to different viewers
and in different cultures. Being insensitive to culture and
viewer types can lead to the loss of customers.
13. Analyze what you think would be the effect if the company did
not have a mission statement
Without rules, chaos arise in organizations. Netflix would be in
chaos if it did not have a mission statement to govern its
operations. Managers in the company would have no idea on
which direction they need to steer their subordinates.
The company would not have a well-defined goal of improving
customer service. Maybe the company would be a bit sluggish
in working on improving the services that it provides. Having a
mission statement makes it a reality that the company has to
work towards obtaining.
The mission statement helps classify Netflix as an international
company. Without the mission statement, the company would
not work on establishing its business points all over the world.

Strategic Plan
Proposal of a New Division
Creating a new division within an existing company, primarily
based on a new service or product enables that particular
company market different services and products. In essence, the
core business of a company is the launching point for a new
business opportunity. A company that bears a strong
understanding and apprehension of its market can likewise
identify service or product gaps it conceives it can fill in its
market. In regard to these opportunities and demands, a
business has to determine if compatible synergies exist between
the proposed new services or products and its core business
(Niyogi, 2016).
Consequently, starting a new division require careful planning
and thought. It requires a significant commitment of the
resources of a company, including capital expenditures,
technology, and manpower. It is all the same essential to
research thoroughly for an opportunity when devising a business
case as well as formulate clear mission, vision, value and
strategy statements. In addition, the new division ought to be
counted as a long-term consignment to the customers as it will
prescribe customer loyalty as well as build a brand image the
company assays to establish respectively.
In this respect, the context focuses on Netflix and its inspiration
of creating smart glasses, an optical wearable device made in
the form of a pair of glasses that is mounted on the head. Smart
glasses technology employs the android mechanism that directly
displays information in the field of vision of the user. The smart
glass brings a suitable technology alongside a computer
display/screen in front of the eyes of the user so as to present
15. real-time data from a background information system. The
display as such can be either be projected on the lens of the
glasses or can be in form of a separate component that is
focused to the user’s eyesight. The user can swimmingly
observe the environment free from any kind of distractions
when he does not employ the information that is provided by the
“smart glasses”.
The mission statement of the Netflix smart glass division states,
“Innovation is the Future with Augmented Reality.” This device
will be innovational as everyone has a cell phone apparently,
most probably, a smartphone. Their relevant applications, as
well as diverse portable terminals, are presently basic
equipment for the mobile workers. But then wearable
technology corresponds the next developmental stage, where
devices seamlessly glide by and using these devices is eyes free
and much easier with hands.
The Netflix innovational smart glass features a sleek design that
is much lighter and informs real-time data with accurate visual
perception to the users. Its aerodynamic design allows them to
be either easily portable or otherwise integrated to clothing.
With the smart glass technology, it poses no difficulty to
provide variable additional and accurate information for a
mobile user without agitating the actual work or rather the
workflow.
The division will address the needs of the customers as well as
enable the company achieve a competitive advantage. The
eyewear technology Netflix assays at exploring layers
information onto the user’s outlook in a much more effective
manner. Being of different opinions from the virtual reality
headsets, the smart glasses grant users a sense of digital and
physical worlds conclusively, furnishing a much more innate
experience. This is answers through either an Augmented
Reality technology, (AR Technology), an Optical Head-
16. Mounted Display (OHMD), or by HUD, (Heads Up Display
Glasses). The smart glass technology also offers a competitive
advantage through its differentiation mechanism in terms of
design and adaptability across different platforms apart from the
film industry as it caters for real-time video streams that can be
applied across various domains.
The new division’s vision aims at “Edging out technology for
prominent solutions”. Consequently, Netflix business model
seeks at ascertaining high-value customers, delivering
significant margins as well as offering substantial value to
customers. In this regard, the division follows the subscription
model or the recurring revenue model as mostly perceived. With
this kind of model, the objective is to batten down the users on
a long-term contract in order for them to continue using the
product considerably into the future. In the subscription model,
customer loyalty and retention are the primary goals for the
company given that the customer acquisition costs can be high.
When correctly employed, the recurring revenue model bears
many benefits, including measurable and predictable revenue,
higher customer retention levels, increasing profit and sales
margins and access to growth. In terms of predictable revenue
streams, the recurring revenue model will cater for measurable
and predictable monthly revenue as users will be paying for
using the service or product probably on a long-term basis.
This, therefore, allows the company predict its income on a
monthly basis.
With regard to higher customer retention, the company will
generally register a higher rate of customer retention compared
to those that do not engage this kind of model. In the main, the
model boosts company sales and with long-term subscriptions,
sales are constantly made regularly on a monthly basis. Netflix
therefore only needs to retain its customer pool by keeping them
engaged and happy with the product it offers. Moreover, the
17. model ensures growth as the model is scalable. At one time
when a user is locked into the subscription over a certain period
of time, the company can therefore grow and expand at a faster
rate mainly by the fact that the company does not need to spend
time on customer retention.
The vision, mission, and value of the new division consequently
align with Netflix’s mission and vision of “becoming the best
global entertainment distribution service, licensing
entertainment content around the world, creating markets that
are accessible to filmmakers and helping content creators
around the world to find a global audience” according to the
company’s listings. The new division vision, mission, and value
ensure this by identifying the user image as well as meeting
their needs while supporting the content vision and mission.
From that fact, having a content vision and mission is key in
aligning the new division to the overall mission, vision and
values respectively. These values as such cater for further
clarification pertaining the principles which guide the company
in its daily activities and decisions.
Netflix values productivity, judgment, intelligence, honesty,
creativity, reliability, selflessness, communication, and passion.
In addition, vision, mission, and values guide the strategic
direction of the division by defining the core strategic direction.
Netflix cannot devise a strategic plan without necessarily
identifying the vision, mission, and values statements. By
formulating ethical and strong values that stand as the
foundation, a mission can thence be stated. A mission, on the
other hand, helps customers and employees understand what the
company is all about.
A mission consequently assists the company move toward its
ultimate objective or goal of what the end ought to look like
when the company achieves its mission and by understanding
and identifying how the vision, mission, and values, interact
18. with one another, the division can, therefore, contrive a
successful and well-designed strategic plan that engages a
competitive advantage (Hagemann, Maketa & Vetter, 2017).
In the circumstances of social responsibility, culture, and
ethics, the new division ensures technological interventions that
facilitate decision making, deliberation, and formation of norms
and knowledge for this emergent technology. Customers expect
fair, courteous and professional treatment form the employees.
Social responsibility and ethical treatment, therefore, is
important to customers. Providing on-site assistance, education
and training to customers bestow an additional value where
competitors cannot be in a position provide. Through a diversity
of perspectives, the division assays at engaging and seeking out
a diverse set of experiences and perspectives for the employees
as far as culture and ethics are concerned. The division also
considers the crucial role of partnerships and collaboration
among the employees which creates teamwork and social
responsibility.
Furthermore, social responsibility starts at the leadership level.
This prescribes responsible leadership which is maintaining
focus and boldness and a pragmatic approach to both efforts and
thoughts to ensure improvements. In this respect, the upper
management will, therefore, need to ascertain if the division
supports the overall corporate strategy. They need a firm
business case that has a clear market analysis opportunity,
consumer and market trends, the regulatory and legal
environment, personnel, operational issues and financials so as
to evaluate the opportunity effectively. Defining the required
elements for success apparently will help the upper management
team determine whether or not they are willing to invest in the
division.

Synopsis
Regardless of the SWOTT analyses, smart glass tech is
apparently a hugely exciting inferred concept. Within the
industry, there are many different products being produced
currently, which could well be placed under the innovational
constraints. Regarding, the economic, legal and regulatory
forces and trends, various discourses have been improvised
towards the eyewear technology. In this instance, Netflix needs
to follow through its implementation strategies so as to ensure
proper institution of the new division with regards to the smart
glasses technology.
In terms of economic forces, smart glass technology employs a
monopolistic competition. There are several companies within
the market products which sell similar but secreted products.
Each company encompasses a demand curve that bears a
negative slope as their products and services denote some
differences compared to their rivals. For example, if the smart
glass price increases, a decrease in demand is prevalent as
customers will prefer its competitive products from other firms
in a situation where when there are new competitors entering
the industry (Kurubacak, & Altinpulluk, 2017).
24. With legal forces, there is stringent regulation imposed by the
government, demanding strict attention to exceptional rules and
regulations. This mainly creates a logical framework in terms of
business operations. Within the smart glass industry, the rule-
based approach is often employed in order to streamline
business operation as well as increasing business efficiency.
The logical framework as such is created by the rules and
regulations of the government, which successively makes it
proficient in managing staff and avoid having the various
concern as regards to situational decisions or ethics. On the
contrary, the division will be restrained by its own regulations,
hence simplifying the decision-making process.
The organization essentially adapts well to these changes
through change management aligned with strategic management
and leadership. Change management is basically a set of
interventions and capabilities that cede the people-oriented face
of a change campaign. Successful change management mainly
targets leaders as well as engaging employees across the
organization, at the same time, adjusting key modifying
processes such as employee engagement and performance
management. This enables employees to make a positive
transition to new acceptable behaviors, hence sustaining the
benefits of the new division.
These adaptations are met by ensuring that the leadership team
entirely stand as a role model supposedly for the change.
Starting transformations to change from the top stand as a
manner of modeling new behaviors leaders ask their employees
to adopt as well as hold each another accountable for the
success of the initiative. When executives of the division talk
about creating a culture of performance, they are inclined to
demonstrate that particular culture through for example what
that culture entails.
25. Attending to the supply chain of the new division in the smart
glass creation, the flow starts from a material handling and
logistics software solution provider. In warehouses that build
large case pallets, the highest degree of development I term of
performance is driven by combining of Voice, WMS, and smart
AGVs. The software provider also caters to these technologies,
however, the company is presently conducting various tests with
others users so as to see if Voice solution replacement will
improve performance. Augmented reality wearable glasses may
outdo voice performance in distinct scenarios, first, if the
products require additional scans to capture serial or lot codes
as capturing the codes with a vision system is faster. Second,
the optimization of pallet building would credibly work far
better alongside the augmented reality glasses as compared to
other specified solution types. The supply chain mainly follows
the distinctive competencies, offering higher quality, excellent
service, lower cost and faster service than the competition.
Consequently, the new division has leveraged or rater
supplemented their superior product development as the core
competency. Marketing is channeled with the latest products as
regards to innovation such as tablets, smart watches multi-use
laptops among many others.
For the strategic plan development, the primary internal
organization consideration starts with strategic management.
Strategic managers have to recognize the current state of the
environment as well as their industry and furthermore, be in a
position to predict their future positions. Workforce issues have
to be taken to keen consideration as well as managers must
conceive the strengths and weaknesses of the workforce when
forging strategic plans. Highly skilled workforce pool can
adequately respond much differently as compared to an
unskilled workforce within the same change context. Company
politics and employee loyalty play a vital role in how proficient
the workforce is to the specific changes. A proficient workforce
with good creativity and innovation track record is well suited
26. for identity with, as well as taking charge of defined strategic
initiatives.
Based on the analysis, there are exceptional challenges the
company faces as regards to future prospects. Companies that
engage the smart glasses technology are fighting hard in the
maintenance and expansion of their ground. Despite the fact
that businesses are defining great workflow solutions via
eyewear technology, consumers will, all the same, have to delay
a bit a longer so as to reap the welfares of mass handiness and
usage. Be not mistaken as on the contrary, the promising public
consumer sector stands not a dupe for neglection. Quite the
contrary, this so happens as manufacturers have to overcome the
exception of attaining a harmonious balance within the division
so as to adjust wear ability and functionality at an approachable
cost (Jung, & Dieck, 2018).
