Essay On Sabiller
SABMiller is a leading brewing and beverage company that concentrates on delivering
refreshment and sociability to millions of people globally. Over its 120 year history, SABMiller
has produced over 200 beers in more than 80 countries, appropriating the title as the second largest
brewer in the world. Not only does it focus its efforts in the alcoholic beverageindustry, but also as a
company formulating sustainable efforts to make a change in the world and society today. Social
media is heavy within the brewing industry, but is more prevalent and successful for direct beer
brands, rather than parent companies such as SABMiller, AB InBev, or Diageo. SABMiller

Online, however, SABMiller could use a facelift. Firstly, the website is mobile compatible and
user friendly. The site is navigationally pleasing in that it defines where users are and where they
can continue to search. Everything about SABMiller can be found and learned easily on the
site and the content is perfect for the audience. Based on the Marketing Grader site, SABMiller
needs to improve in two areas: performance and SEO. If SABMiller optimizes its website
performance it could result in increased traffic, improved conversion rates, more leads, and an
increase in revenue. Additionally, as a fast and relatively small site, SABMiller could also fix its
Search Engine Optimization. SABMiller needs assistance in discovering and engaging directly
on the site. A simple fix would be to amend the meta description in order to deliver a clear
purpose and description of the content on the page. Connected and promoted on the website are
SABMiller s five social media platforms which generate content based on the blogs, news stories,
and media releases that SABMiller produces. As mentioned above and below, SABMiller s social
presence is in need of the most work and thus, my recommendations are essential to support
SABMiller for the future in this digitally focused age. Although I am focusing on SABMiller, this
also pertains to the other leading brands within the industry as their websites and social platforms

How Speed of a Computer Is Affected By Different Storage Devices

Abstract Today s computers have different ways to store data. Some examples of these ways are
devices as the hard disk (aka magnetic disk), floppy disk, RAM, CD ROM, tape, and the flash
(aka jump drive, USB memory stick, and thumb drive). Storage devices come in two different
sources; primary or secondary. Each of these devices causes the computer to process data at
different speeds. This paper will show how each of these devices store data and how they affect the
speed of the computer.

The Flash (aka Jump Drive, USB Memory Stick, and Thumb Drive) is a small device that plugs
directly into a USB port on the outside a computer. It has made the transfer of data information
very easy. The flash can be used easily to access large reports, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.
without experiencing any slow response times trying to retrieve stored data on a computers
hard disk. It is becoming a more preferred type of storage today because of its sturdy build
making it easy to be carried in a pocket, on a keychain, or even on a lanyard. This is another
option that is an inexpensive type of storage. As earlier defined, RAM provides fast access
storage when a computer is on. However, if there is too many things open at once RAM can
become sluggish. Every time an application or program is opened the RAM has that much more
information and data to sort through while trying to process the request. For the computer to run at
an optimal speed, unused applications or programs should be closed. This has an effect on the
computers clock speed also. According to Webopedia Clock Speed (n.d.), Also called clock rate, the
speed at which a microprocessor executes instructions. Every computer contains an internal clock
that regulates the rate at which instructions are executed and synchronizes all the various computer
components. In conclusion these comparisons discuss some of the different storage

Weimar Republic Failure
There are many historians that believe the Weimar Republic was doomed from the beginning of its
existence as a rump state of the once powerful German Empire. Other historians believe the
republic is not such a failure as it seems in textbooks and online articles. Both sides unanimously
agree that the Weimar Republicwas a failed attempt at bringing democracy to a predominantly
monarchical (and tyrannical) Europe. The majority of historians that agree the ill fated Weimar
Republic was a smudge on Germanyduring the Interwar Period have a large amount of validities
to support that claim. However, these validities also apply to the latter (to a lesser extent) , with
one major problem resolved by the republic. One of the claims is that the Weimar Republic was
simply too weak to establish itself as a political power in Germany, being contested by left and
right wing extremist groups. There were often frequent rebellions in Germany, led by Communists
and Marxists. The military at the time was far too outnumbered to quell these rebellions in their
own jurisdiction. Another major impediment was the hyperinflation of the currency of that time,
the German Mark. After the Great War, Germany was in a state of utter devastation and rebellion.
The Kaiser had just fled Germany, and she was now without a leader, essentially cutting head off
the snake. The military had also returned in a similar shape. The German economy was in ruins.
The Weimar Republic was still responsible for

The Utalitarian Approach to Moral Obligation
Wand(1979) expounds on Hume ethical theory in relation to moral obligation is a theory of good
and evil rather than one of duty and obligation , according to Wand (1956:55): this statement is
quite erroneous for Hume does not merely wish to discover the foundation of our moral actions .
Hume account of how motives prompt men to moral actions is quite complex, but Wand (1979)
also asserts that Hume distinguishes between two basic type of action to make it more
understandable. The first type are those action which men will perform without the aid or influence
of reason or custom; the second are those action which it can be expected men will normally
perform with the aid or influence of reason or custom.
Hume distinguishes these two types of action in terms of the specifically moral nature of their
motive, whether or not the action is done from a sense of duty; thus for Hume, there are four classes
of action: The first, are those actions prompted by the natural or moral motives; The second are
those actions prompted by artificial, non moral motive; third; those actions promoted by artificial
moral motives. In consideration of his account of moral motivation; Hume s ultimate intention is to
show that it cannot be a natural duty to carry out certain types of obligation such as being just or
keeping promises. Hume thinks that the actions envisaged cannot constitute duty; it would never be
a duty unless human nature possesses some rational inclination prompting individuals to

The Handmaid s Tale, Offred

of Gilead as a woman stripped of what she once knew and the becoming of a housemaid. As the
story begins, we find that the regime strategically encroaches the rights of women, their
independence, and seizes anything they thought to be pleasurable deeming it contraband. Offred

The ways of Gilead were manipulative and controlling; they limited the amount of
communication with both the handmaids and citizens and used Angels, the police force and the
eyes who were always watching. Gilead painted a portrait of Christianity in a man made control
mechanism to those in the area. They were not aware of what was going on outside of Gilead
and were trapped. We see in the acts of punishment, as they hang men and women for their
crimes encouraging others to watch and display the dead bodies on the way that stands tall in
the city. Their ways were also barbaric and inhuman; as a horrific event occurred after the
women celebrate, the joining of marriage for new wives Aunt Lydia takes this opportunity to
execute two handmaids and a wife. Moments after forming a circle she announces to the crowd
that two guardians were convicted of rape, but one was already shot leaving this one for the
handmaids. Adding fuel to the fire, she voices there were two handmaids involved one being
pregnant had lost the baby. They beat him to death without questioning authoritative figures.
Though we are unaware if the crimes those who were put to death were true or falsified to fit the
needs of the eyes or other government officials we just know that whatever they say is perceived
as true. It makes me wonder how much of this so called Christian inspired republic is based on
the bible and how much is based on man. Gilead used religion as a weapon to put fear in their
citizens and forced them to lose their identity. Through in ways

The three categories of models are for, designing and implementing systematic approaches to, in

evidence based clinical decision making can be described as a prescriptive approach to making

Graduated License Program Advantages
A graduated license program would and has proven far more effective than raising the driving age
to eighteen would be. Teens shouldn t be immediately given the privilege of driving as soon as
they turn sixteen. There is no possible way a written test can fully prepare them for the
responsibilities and risks that come with driving. A program that gradually grants them that
privilege through hands on practice and adult supervision would help teens be less inexperienced
on the road. Age isn t the issue, it s lack of experience and carelessness. GDL is the blatantly
correct choice. I don t fully support either option, because even with a graduated license program,

Ants With Your Order Today
Ants with Your Order Today, Sir? The majority of people in this country would dream of
working in an ice cream shop and sweeping rainbow sprinkles off the floor everyday; I had
accomplished this aspiration. I found my way into the ice cream business as a lowly sophomore
and stayed there until I was a senior, three seasons. By ice cream standards, this means I am an
experienced veteran and can make a perfect soft serve swirl with my eyes closed. This particular
ice cream shop was filled with only girl employees and was mainly a high school position; you
may be thinking my boss is a pedophile, but he s not. As a senior, one has to show others that she
is maturing and put on a leadershiprole to convince onlookers that she is almost at a functioning
adult level. I had always loved my job, but this past summer I stepped in the leadership role in a
way that I never had before; I had to confront my boss with a serious problem. Before I jump to
far ahead, it is important to note that I was quickly becoming a head girl within the
establishment. Many older girls were leaving, and younger girls were filling the gaps. I became
accustomed to orienting new employees that my boss didn t have time for. It was a new challenge
for me and demanded all my patience, which happens to be one of my faults. The accumulation of
duties were moments of obligation in themselves, yet I consider the climax of these moments to
have taken place in early August of 2015. During a lull in afternoon

Feedback and Evaluation for a Federal Program to Give...
The Government as far back as the 1950s backed subsidized and unsubsidized student loans.
However, over the years the cost of a college education has increased and has become a financial
burden for some families as their debts began to rise. The U. S. Department of Education amended
the Title IV of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 1965. Student loans are a form of
financial aid that a student can receive while in college and consist of federal loans and private
loans.
The Internal and External feedback mechanisms A high number of students are graduating from
college with a debt that is stemming from student loans with high interest. Over the years, students

The financial markets begin to show signs of non payments of credit on student loans, which was
alarming to policy makers who eventually intervened. The feedback received from this brought on
the amendment of the Title IV of the Higher Education Act. Students were struggling to make ends
meet with the worry of repaying their student loans as they entered into the workforce, they found
that they were unable to purchase homes, prepare for retirement, nor have the option to start their
own small businesses and so forth. Suggestions were made to the task force for policymakers to
implement repayment options that would be affordable to students, and have private lenders to
restructure loans. Another suggestion was to repair a student s credit if and when they repay their
loan in full. Federal student loans can be issued directly to the student or to the parents. However,
if that loan is made to the student, the student is not required to make any payments if enrolled as
a part time student. Should the student drop below the part time status, there is a six month grace
period to rekindle your status and the payments will be deferred, otherwise there is no grace
period. Any loans made to the parents can have large loan amount, however, payments will have to
start immediately. Private loans can be made to

Explain the way in which Duffy presents the strengths and limitations of language in two poems.
When drawing from both Warming Her Pearls and Selling Manhattan , it is evident that Carol Anne
Duffy maintains a certain avant garde approach to the vast array of possibilities that language
presents.
She acutely exposes the ambiguity that language holds in its meanings, presenting the reader with
endless connotations to consider. Duffy also draws attention to its inability to fully express the
extent of human emotions.
Both of the above stated poems focus on societal and cultural stratification, with Duffy s use of
language carefully designed to emphasise the distance between different social groups. Selling

While Duffy again has used the word I , the context of the language in which it is employed
consequently generates a distance from Minuit. While the colonist clearly does not care to consider
the feelings of any being other than himself, the very first line of the
Indian embodies the exact opposite. Not only is the Indian seen to
wonder about the thoughts of others, more specifically, he is even contemplating how the ground is
feeling. This again creates a lucid contrast to the capitalist views of the settler, emphasising the
Indian s value in the natural earth around. The personification that
Duffy has shaped through language for the ground adds human qualities, suggesting that all
surroundings are as important as the self, even the ground that we walk upon. The Indian s esteem
in valuing, and his general respect for the natural surroundings is echoed again in the first line of
his next stanza. Here he wonders about the water s spirit . No language is evident in Peter Minuit s
stanza that would suggest a genuine concern for the spirit. Minuit does nevertheless state, Praise
the Lord , which would at first glance suggest the possession of similar principles and beliefs to the
Indian s interest in the spirit . Minuit s referral to God is however extremely cruel and entirely
ironic, with him almost joking about powers beyond his own greedy hands. It is evident that if he
did in fact with honesty Praise the Lord that he would not

Our market sharing will see an increase of 2% each of the first 3 years. We will be able to measure
being on the top in our industry by the increase of customers which results in an increase of
profits. We anticipate a 5% increase of customers our first year followed by 6% the second year and
8% the third year. These will be our key factors in our financial objective.
Customer Value Perspective
Customers are important for our new program to work and we need to keep these three strategic
objectives in mind for it to be successful. Customers will help our business grow by using their
property to make a profit. We feel in the first year 25% of our customers will take advantage of our

Ethics And Moral Standards On Student Behavior
Is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior?
The education field represents the one of the largest industries in the United States. Due to the
enormous capacity of professionals, many supervisors and managers intend to set clear standards
for every educator. Therefore, teachers embody the strict guidelines to accept the recognition of an
exceptional educator. Teaching symbolizes effort, care, and knowledge, characteristics that
exemplify a small portion of every educator. Along with great accomplishments, responsibility and
ethics impact an educator s action. As a result, ethics and moral standards influence future
generations at a higher level every time.
Although ethical and moral standards change over time, the ... Show more content on

The presence of confusion in a situation, causes differences and disputes leading to ethical
dilemmas. In a perfect, ideal society nothing could possibly encounter arguments, but in a realistic
world common ground in disputes, the result from two or more opposing sides compromising to
find a solution. In order to avoid and eliminate excessive ethical dilemmas in the education
industry, many professionals establish certain ethical standards to prevent work environment issues.
Contrary to the set standards, many educators explain the unfairness in which teachers receive
evaluations.
So, is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior? The problem lies in the grading
process. The teachers are commonly evaluated everywhere in the world. Sometime the way teachers
are evaluated, lacks the complete capacity of the teacher. Although multiple evaluations are taken
during the school year, even some of the observations are not as clear as the teachers. Since the
evaluations are somewhat unexpected, teachers have no way of controlling the way their class will
act. Therefore taking into consideration the student s behaviors may cause a misinterpretation.
For example would it be okay to finalize the teacher s grade based on the way the students
behave? Since the evaluations are at least twice a year, it is very likely that the teacher will not
score as high as the demanding rubric of most of the evaluations. But teachers need to be

Islam Reflection Paper
Although Islam is the second largest religion in the world with a following of 1.8 billion
followers, no other religion has faced more scrutiny and hardship in the past decades. This has
been caused by media and governments labeling Islam as a whole with their extremist groups like
Al Queda and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. I even thought that the principals held by these
extremist group were more common in Islamthan they are. After studying Islam and gaining more
information I came to respect this religion more than any other we studied this semester because of
its seriousness and unity. The Quran and Hadith provide concrete details and instructions to follow
in the faith of Islam. No texts from any other religion are as upfront with their beliefs than these.
Muhammadwas and continues to be a powerful and understanding leader that has led it to
becoming the world s fastest growing religion. I enjoyed studying the powerfulness of
Muhammad and the direct voice of God in the Quran that is sets Islam apart from Judaism and
Christianity. His influence and words continue to deeply inspire muslims even though he has
been dead for centuries. Muhammad is one of the most interesting religious figures of any
religion. He is a mix of all the other important figures from other religions. Like the Bhudda, he
began his life as a normal citizen and then became a spiritual figure. At least for me, this allows
me to find his words and teachings more believable because he is completely human. He is like
Jesus because he is a prophet of God, but he isn t described as half human, half God. This gives
him the same importance and validity as a translator of the Holy Spirits word. Since Muhammad
is completely human his interpretations can be more believable because there isn t room for
confusion on how he was created. Not only was he a spiritual leader of Islam but, he was also a
political leader of the Islamic state. I think his leadership background with his business and
political background allows Muhammad to better preach the word of Allah. The Hadith also plays
an important role in the figure of Muhammad and Islam. It almost functions like a story to tell the
life of Muhammad in critical detail. The intricate

The Effects of Cognitive Coaching on Education and in Supporting Teacher Leadership
Creating a profession of teaching in which teachers have the opportunity for continual learning is
the likeliest way to inspire greater achievement for children, especially those for whom education is
the only pathway to survival and success (Sumner, 2011, p. 10). Educators today are required to
have a different set of skills to effectively prepare students to be global competitors in the
workplace. Educators cannot make these alterations in teaching methodology and instructional
delivery without support. Coaches support and encourage teachers, improve teacher strategies,
promote teacher reflection, and focus on desired outcomes (Sumner, 2011). A key... Show more

Cognitive Coaching Supporting Teacher Leadership
Cognitive coaching allows teachers to take ownership of their professional development by
encouraging them to be accountable of their cognitive learning process. The self reflection that is
involved in cognitive coaching coupled with professional vision enables teachers to become a
catalyst of change both in the classroom and beyond.
Patti amp; Holzer (2012) stated:
The coaching relationship provides a safe haven for mindful attention to self change in the areas of
self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management. It is through this
individual process that the teacher and administrative leader positively impact the culture and
climate of the classroom and school (p. 270).
Every teacher has the capabilities to improve their knowledge and skill and cognitive coaching
affords the opportunity of exploration into one s self, challenging old beliefs and habits, emerging
a better, stronger leader. Leadership is not mobilizing others to solve problems we already know
how to solve, but to help them confront problems that have never yet been successfully addressed
(Fullan, 2007). The reflection learned through cognitive coaching helps develop problem solving
skills as teachers examine their experience, generate alternatives, and evaluate actions. Educators

Prevention And Treatment Of Periodontal Disease
Introduction
Periodontal disease is one of the most common chronic inflammatory diseases and is also the
second most frequent cause of tooth loss among adults. The toxins produced by bacteria stimulate
an inflammatory response in which the body turns upon itself and results in the supporting tissues
of the teeth being progressively destroyed. Periodontal disease is multifactorial and susceptibility is
dependent on the composition of individual s microflora together with specific local and systemic
risk factors. Local risk factors include any plaque retentive features which hinders plaque removal
such as crowding, calculus, overhangs and orthodontic appliance. Systemic risk factors include
diabetes, genetic and smoking. Smoking is an important risk factor for the initiation and
progression of periodontal diseases and a number of researches have demonstrated the detrimental
effect of smoking on patient s periodontal status as well as their response to periodontal treatment.
Content of cigarette
Smoking has widespread systemic effects as it contains over 4000 toxic chemicals including
Benzene, Formaldehyde and Ammonia. Benzene is a solvent used in making fuel, Formaldehyde is
used to preserve dead bodies and Ammonia can be found in cleaning fluids. There are also potent
carcinogens such as Nitrosamines and Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The component of
inhaled smoke includes nicotine, carbon monoxide and tar. Nicotine has numerous effects such as

This memo is in response to your request for an analysis of the economic implications of the
potential merger of US Airways Group and the AMR Corporation (parent company of American
Airlines), plans for which were announced in February of this year. While US Airways Group is
currently operating normally, AMR Corporation is under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to
a lack of profit, putting it in a precarious business situation. This proposed merger is AMR
Corporation s proposed path out of bankruptcy, and one which both airlines claim could result in
more than $1.5 billion in additional revenues and cost savings on an annual basis. (Wall Street
Journal, 2012)
This proposed merger would create the largest airline in the United States by market share, with a
combined 21.2% of the domestic market using pre merger market share levels (see Figure 1). The
proposed merger would also bring the total number of major domestic airlines down to four: Delta,
United, Southwest and the proposed new airline. These major domestic carriers would combine to
control roughly 69% of the market, a dominant position.
Any thorough economic analysis of the proposed merger has to focus in on this critical issue: the
risk of having too few

The Issues Of The Midwifery And Obstetrics
In recent years, midwifery and obstetrics have become two of the most prominent and primary
ways of care for women of childbearing age in comparison to unassisted births and other
documented methods. Although midwifery is not as prevalent as obstetrics, there is a rise in
midwifery today. In the United States women and their partners are faced with the choice of
who should provide care before, during and after pregnancy. As of today there has been a rise in
how many births are attended by nurse midwives than it was a quarter of a century ago but the
number of births attended by an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) is still significantly higher.
Faced with either option, OBGYN or nurse midwife, women of childbearing age are not
adequately informed or are misinformed on their choices when it comes to each specialty. This
paper explores the issue of women being thoroughly informed on their birth options and on which
provider is necessary. This paper also compares the two professions, midwifery and obstetricsin the
realm of pregnancy, pregnancy care and childbirth. This examination of professional practices for
pregnant women points out the limitations of each obstetrician gynecologists and their attendance
in low risk pregnancies and deliveries and suggests the need for midwives more than ever.
Choices: Midwifery Today
What is choice? Is it making an informed decision based on facts or is it deciding between
opposing factors based on pure emotion? Perhaps it is just

Preventing Infectious Diseases Due to Climate Changes
The essential method for preventing climate change from affecting human health is to stop climate
change altogether. While some degree of climate change has already occurred, the idea is to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions to the extend where this phe¬nomenon is considerably slowed. The
in¬tergovernmental panel on climate changehas determined that a 50% reduction in greenhouse
gasemissions (compared with 1990 levels) by 2050 will be necessary to stabilize the global
temperature increase at 2 2.4 В°c compared with preindustrial times. The Kyoto protocol, which
was de¬veloped in 1997 by the UN framework convention on climate change, has now been
ratified by 187 nations (but most no¬tably not by the us) and was put into effect in 2005.18...

While governments must take the lead in halting climate change, it is also our re sponsibility as
individuals to do our part to reduce our own contributions to green¬house gas emissions. At
home, we can use more energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, properly insulate our houses,
and recycle. We should drive more fuel effi¬cient vehicles and use public transportation
whenever possible. Tools are available to help us calculate our personal carbon emissions to
identify areas where we could potentially improve.
Investing in infectious diseases research and prevention efforts
While reducing emissions to halt climate change is of the utmost importance, we must remember
that the best case scenario would be a global temperature increase of around 2 В°c. Therefore, we
must also fo¬cus our efforts on mitigating the effects of climate change, including its potential
impact on the global distribution of infec¬tious diseases. In order to accomplish this, additional
research is needed on the epide¬miology and ecology of the infectious dis¬eases that will
likely be affected by climate change. However, these diseases typically fall under the category of
neglected dis¬eases, meaning that they primarily affect people living in poverty. In 2007, the
national institutes of health in the US spent less than 1% of its entire op¬erating budget on
research related to the neglected diseases. More recently,

The Creation of Federal Laws in Australia
The Creation of Federal Laws in Australia The Commonwealth of Australia was created with the
1901 unification of six recently independent British colonies. All were solidified under the
authorship of a Constitution that same year which predicated the form of government and the legal
orientation of the new nation. (AG, p. 1) In doing so, it also vested the power to create federal laws
in Australian Parliament and, in one sense, gave it exclusive authority to do so. And in this sense,
one might render the interpretation that one advantage Australiahas is that it has a written
constitution which gives nearly all the power to make laws for Australia to the Commonwealth
Parliament. However, a more complete understanding of the structure of Australian law suggests
that this is a great understatement and one which does not make full accounting for the roles played
either by the states that are confederated to make up Australia or by the judicial branch of the
federal government. A consideration of the roles played by Parliament, the states and the court
systems reveals that in fact, while the power to legislate laws is entrusted in Australian parliament,
this entitlement is only possible through an interdependence with these other dimensions of the
government. First, it is appropriate to examine the conditions that will have allowed for one to
make the blanket statement quoted here above. Namely, the Australian Government (AG)(2011)
documents that Section 51 of the

Doppelgänger In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Doppelgänger is a German phrase from the mid nineteenth century meaning mirror image, which
correlates to the conception that two individuals are a living double. Thousands of years ago,
individuals considered an ancient widespread belief of spiritual doubles to be a sign of impending
death. This was primarily due to the lack of scientific knowledge and study, which lead society to
gain faith in paranormal activities. Those cases of doppelgängerare referred to as, evil twin
(Ancient Origin 5) which means that the identical other may seem as a favorable shadow, but in
reality, is a malevolent and hostile being. Furthermore, these cases are considered works of fiction,

He is left alone and is infuriated because of the abandonment he endures from his creator, the
very minute he is born. Frankenstein chooses to shun him because he is immensely disgusted by
its physical appearance. For example, this is shown by the resentment the creature shows when
he states, ...Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me... (Shelley 111) In addition, the disfigured
beast also portrays the obsessive behavior of ambition, which makes him mentally identical to
his maker, against whom he seeks revenge. However, his objective is mainly focused on finding
his master and making him suffer for the unethical acts that he has committed. Eventually he
meets his creator and demands him to create a female mate, someone who he can relate to and
share the similar grotesque persona with. Temporarily he receives assurance upon his request,
but later Frankenstein reneges on his vow. This causes the creature to threaten his creator and
swear that he will exact revenge upon him and his family. Given the fact that William has
already been murdered and Justine was framed for it, Frankenstein cannot ignore the powerful
threat. The wretch is an incredible mastermind when it comes to committing murder because he
flees multiple times and successfully manages to avoid leaving any evidence behind. His
passion to destroy his creator blinds him while he takes the lives of the innocent. This is proven
when step by step, he takes away all the members with whom his maker shares a close bond.
Soon, the creature murders Henry Clerval, Frankenstein s dearest childhood friend and promises
him, I will be with you on your wedding night. (Shelley 206) These concepts support how the
scientist provokes his creation to hatred and his family to sadness with his negligence, due to his
selfish, misguided ambition to prioritize his research before his loved

Allowing Marine Parks To Keep Marine Mammals
The main thesis presented in the essay is whether to allow marine parks to keep marine
mammals. The first main argument Bill Daly s presents is the fact that individuals would rather
see marine mammals in the wild life than captured inside a tank. Bill Daly s states In fact, there
are more places where they can be seen in wild than places where they can be seen in captivity
(Daly 2016, p.469). This argument presents the fact that many of the places people visit have many
areas to see marine mammals in the wild, which is an option many tourist would prefer. The second
argument presented in the essay is that when it comes to research of marine mammals, marine
parks are only useful to study animals that are captured. Bill Daly states Dolphin

Disagreements Between North And South America In 1787
Autumn M, Colin H, Brayden C.Harding, Kyle R and Adam C In Philadelphia in 1787, 55
delegates including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Gouverneur Morris attended the
Convention to improve the Article of Confederation. There, they also discussed the many issues
between the North and South. There were many disagreements between the Northern and
Southern states, here are the two main disagreements. The first disagreement was the Southern
states wanted to keep slavery mostly for their own farms, so they can gain money from the slave
labor. The other disagreement was the North was so against slavery that Governor Morris
denounced slavery. He said it was the curse of heaven . This led up to the fugitive slave clause
and it states, a slave who escapes from slavery to a state where slavery was prohibited, shall be
delivered up on claim. The Southern states wanted this so that their slaves would not run away, the

Comparing The Novel Uglies And The Maze Runner
In today s society, equality is a big deal, with many people still fighting for their rights. People all
over the world are still being discriminated against, a topic that is not uncommon for a vast amount
of dystopian novels. In fact, it s a very common theme for multiple dystopian pieces. Scott
Westerfeld s Uglies, Joelle Charbonneau s The Testing, Liam Hughes The Social Classes, Kurt
VonnegutJr. s Harrison Bergeron, and Wes Ball s interpretation of The Maze Runner all have
social discrimination integrated into their story lines. Despite the many problems in dystopian
societies, authors also present the classic hero that rises above those issues and works to rebuild
their government or community. However, a hero isn t just born, they re made through a series of
events such as problems with social classdiscrimination. When writing the book Uglies, the
author, Scott Westerfeld, used a sufficient amount of details to emphasize the differences in
social classes and how each class is distinctly separated. By labeling the citizens in the colonies,
Westerfeld was able to show how each class was viewed. The novel follows a character named
Tally, who is a teenager living in a time set ahead of our own. In this community there are
different stages a person goes through while growing up. All citizens first start out as littlies, or
kids younger than twelve. Once over twelve the kids move to their own town, called Uglyville,

Effects Of Imperialism In 1914
1. Introduction: The British Empire
An important feature of the Queen Victoria s reign was the rise of imperialism in United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom and the territories under its control reached its greatest expansion in the 19th
and 20th century, during the Victorian Era.
Between 1815 and 1914, many territories of the world, such as Canada, India Australia or many
parts of Africa, were added to the British Empire, which brought many negative repercussions for
the rest of the globe (for instance, the empire created class and wealth divisions in England).
The British Empire in 1914
One negative consequence of the British expansion, which I am going to explain briefly in this
project, is the racial oppression that non white people suffered mainly because of the English
conquest of their territories: British people thought that they were the best race ... Show more

British people thought that social classes were the result of personal achievement and aptitude.
The separation of classes was significant because each person had to keep to their assigned place in
society:
The English poor man or child is expected always to remember the condition in which God has
placed him, exactly as the negro is expected to remember the skins which God has given him. The
relation in both instances is that of perpetual superior to perpetual inferior, of chief to dependent,
and no amount of kindness or goodness is suffered to alter this relation. (LГ©vi Strauss 285)
However, as mentioned above, not only non white people were treated with contempt in the
Victorian Age. In the nineteenth century, a lot prejudices towards the Irish began to arise: they

personified as Esther Greenwood details the inequality and expectations of a young woman in

Themes of women s rights in The Bell Jar are documented in depth by Plath throughout the novel

Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism
Learning about both Hinduism and Buddhism, particularly about the art and architecture of both
cultures made me realize they are not that different as I thought first. Both cultures are beautiful
and rich, and if someone takes a deeper look can see that they are depending on each other.
Many people forget that Buddha was born into a Hindu society, and his views and beliefs which
led to a brand new culture are based on Hinduism. Of course I am not saying the two are the same
because that wouldn t make any sense. However, the similarities are visible, just the way
differences are visible too, and these things make both cultures so amazing. First I would like to
point out some of the similarities and differences between Hindu and Buddhist faiths which I think
are important to understand their art. Both religions put karma and reincarnation into the center of
believes. Both religions believe in several spiritual practices in attempts to get beyond the thinking
mind and into a state of relaxation and awareness. However, they do not share their gods, in
Hinduism they share their religion with many gods and goddesses, and in Buddhismthere is no god,
Buddha himself was a leader. Knowing the two cultures basic views and believes it is easier to
compare their art and architecture, since mostly they are based on the religions.
The first similarity which I think is very oblivious is the stupa. Stupas are present in both cultures
and the base for the temples in Hinduism and Buddhism

public. They have a way of manipulating news to help Democrats and the liberal agenda. Strong
conservatives and Republicans are more likely to distrust the media news (Lee Tien Tsung).
Although the media deny being bias, there are ways to prove that it does exist without the proof
of studies and research. When journalist only report from one side of the story and use phrases
from witnesses or experts from the one side that they are reporting on, media bias is presented. If the
journalist fails to report on the conservative side of the story, or the conservative part is either
barely mentioned or comes at the end of the story instead of mentioning it during the liberal view,
this is another example. Another way to identify this type of reporting would be looking for the
journalist to put a spin on the story. This happens when journalist make one side of the story more
appealing than the other. (Baker) Since the general public is able to spot bias in the media, they no
longer trust the news. Back in 2001, when four major networks starting running evening news
broadcasting, the ratings had dropped significantly (Alterman 7). Other means of bias stories in the
media have been proven with the help of studies, research, and by taking polls and surveying the
general public. Surveys can be insightful to see how the public views things. Many journalists take a

Jonah Quotes From 12 Unlikely Heroes
Lessons about God As A.B. Simpson once stated, All that God requires of [his children] is an
opportunity to show [them] what He can do. God is an omnipotent being, but some people doubt
his power; nevertheless, God will ensure that His plans are carried out despite the challenges
placed before Him. In the book Twelve Unlikely Heroes, John MacArthur retells the story of Jonah
and explains how God used him to deliver the Ninevites, regardless of his prejudices against them.
Jonah s story conveys three important lessons about God, but there are other remarkable biblical
characters which contribute to those lessons as well. The first lesson that the story of Jonah
accentuates is that God is the sovereign Creator, which is a lesson that can... Show more content on

Jonah, for instance, is notorious for his rebellious thoughts and actions against the Ninevites for
their wickedness. Even though God punished Jonah by forcing him to undergo three days in the
belly of a fish, his myopic attitude toward the Ninevites remained unchanged. He despised them so
much, that he would have preferred death over [their] salvation (UH, Jonah 122). Jonah s
exasperation with the Ninevites was rooted in the fact that God would give them mercy as long as
they repented; He knew that God could rescue any sinner, but Jonah wanted nothing to do with
divine pardon being extended to Israel s hostile enemies (UH, Jonah 122). Although Jonah strongly
opposed giving the Ninevites salvation, God used the rebellious prophet to bring [the] rebellious
people to faith in himself (UH, Jonah 124). With the Lord s help, Jonah eventually approached the
sinful people with diffidence and helped hundreds of thousands of them gain salvation from God.
The book of Jonah communicates that God is an all powerful Creator, Judge, and Savior, which
is also conveyed in the books of some of His other children. Through their stories, it is evident
that the Lord overcomes all obstacles in order to offer mercy to those who deserve it and to carry
out His plan. He never fails those who trust in Him, because everything He does is for their own
benefit, even though it may not seem that way at the

Diverse and Virtual Teams
The world is a growing and changing place, and in business we have seen many changes occur.
Most of these changes are of a result of globalization and multiculturalism Diverse and virtual
teams have developed in response. The work force has become more diverse and spread out, and it
has forced managers to adjust and change their management styles to adapt to the new work force
needs. This paper will address the risks, the benefits, and the ways managers plan to manage the
new diverse and mobile teams. In the past there was not much diversity among work teams. There

There can be many challenges that arise in diverse teams such as communication challenges.
Managers should ensure that people within the team are communicating clearly in a way that
everyone understands. The manager should also encourage team members to communicate
with their own individual networks to bring more knowledge and information to the group.
Managers also need to regularly provide positive feedback to the team. This will reassure the
team that they are effective in what they have done and can see progress that they have made.
Lastly, effective managers need to act as a role model to the team and mentor them. Mentoring
gives employees skills and advice on what they need to do to be successful. The manager should
also act in a way that they want the rest of the team to behave and show that they believe diverse
teams can be of great benefit. Virtual and mobile teams (also known as distributed teams) are
individual members or groups of a team working independently without a common work location,
to meet collective organization goals. Virtual and mobile teams can be spread out as far as across
town, to all the way around the world. Virtual and mobile teams allow businesses and teams can
work effectively work apart, and achieve the benefits of being in different key locations. Some
benefits of virtual and mobile teams are the ability to bridge organizational and geographical
boundaries and offer organizations the ability

Difference Between Errgonomic And Non Ergonimic Carrier
The carriers are generally devided into two groups : ergonomic and non ergonomic.
Non ergonomic carrier is a type of carrying tool, which disregards the right position of the baby
when it comes to the health point of view. On the other side, ergonomic carrier is made in a way
to place the baby into a position, that properly supports the entire body and healthy body
development. This is the main difference between ergo and non ergonomic carriers. You can
easily distinguish them on the first glance. In ergonimic carrier, the baby is facing the parent s
body, has a rounded back, legs stretched wide and supported all the way to the knees. In the
second case, the child is turned back to the parent, which does not allow him to have a properly
rounded back, he is facing forwards and his legs are loosely down.If the word kanguru came to
your mind, then you are right. You won t find it in our selection, because it s a non ergonomic
carrier.
Let s talk a bit more about individual ergonomic carriers.

Descriptive Essay On Haunted House
My bus ride home came to a screeching halt. My bus driver is not a very good driver. I stepped,
well more like jumped down the steps of the school bus and I wish I could say I stuck the
landing, but sadly I didn t. I almost went head first into a tree, but I caught myself and played it
off as I quickly got my balance back and walked towards my house as if nothing had happened. I
watched as the wind blew through the tree branches, knocking even more warm colored leaves to
the cold ground. I swear these trees have an infinite amount of leaves to give to the autumn wind. I
have always had a special place in my heart for autumn. The food is amazing, the weather couldn t
be better, and the hoodies, don t get me started on hoodies. On top of all that, today is Halloween.
On top of my grandma making amazing food, every Halloween, my familygets together and works
a haunted house my we build in our backyard, as well as a graveyard in the front yard. After
winding through the maze of tombstones I walk up there stairs to my porch and into my front
door and I instantly smell the abundance of chilli that everyone in my family goes crazy about.
Well everyone except me. I ve never really been a fan of chilli, but there is plenty of other food I
could gorge myself with. My personal favorite being candied apples. Something about apples
cooked in melted Cinnamon Red Hots just makes my my mouth water.
I hung up my backpack and walked into my kitchen very happy. My grandma was sitting in her

Chemiluminescence Lab Report
Chemiluminescence is a reaction well known to those who enjoy crime scene shows. Luminol is
first synthesized in the experiment. Then, the crude luminol produced is oxidized to release
photons giving off a light blue glow in a dark room. In a crime scene show, the blood acts as a
catalyst aiding in the oxidation of luminol and hydrogen peroxide resulting in the blue glow 1.
Introduction:
As seen on any crime scene investigation show, such as CSI Miami, traces of cleaned up blood
left behind can been seen with the spray of a chemical called luminol. When applied on an area, it
lights up where blood has been due to a chemical reaction. Chemiluminescence it is also found in
the insect called fireflies 2. The reaction uses ATP as an energysource ... Show more content on

If the amounts of luminol produced would be much less if the amounts of NaOH and acetic acid
were changed. This is due to less acetic acid being able to form the precipitate or the crude luminol.
3.In the luminol synthesis reaction, why was cold water used for rinsing the filtration step? How
would the efficiency of the filtration be affected by hot water used instead?
Cold water was used because it does not dissolve solids as readily as hot water does. Using hot
water in the filtration step would result in some of the crude luminol being dissolved. This would
be less efficient since product is being removed and would give less of a product yield.
4.When isolating the solid through precipitate and vacuum filtration, why was the solid not rinsed
with a solvent like ethyl acetate or dichloromethane?
Water is used because it is not an organic solvent. Ethyl acetate and dichloromethane are both
organic solvents and would dissolve the crude luminol product. This like adding hot water would
reduce the yield of the product and reduce efficiency.
5.What is the difference between chemiluminescence and fluorescence? Where does the energy for
light emissions come from in each

Cellphone Impaired Driving
How many accidents do you know that have been caused by impairment with a cell phone? When
looking around an intersection, it is common to see drivers looking in their laps instead of the
road. Multiple messaging apps like facebook messenger and snapchat are making cellphones hard
to put down for long amounts of time. It is crucial to find out if cell phones can be linked to
impaired driving. In this experiment, we will test the effects of talking on a cell phone during a
driving test and see if talking on a cell phone will lead to worse driving scores compared to drivers
not talking on a cellphone.
First off, when tasked with creating an experimental design, you must randomly assign your
participants into different testing groups. For this experiment, we will have the control group and

Essay On Iraq War
The post 9/11 conflict in Iraq and the undeclared war in Vietnam both had a profound impact on
the United States. These two military conflicts have been a source of contention among the
American public for decades. These wars became tedious as a result of their longevity, both the
Vietnam War and the war in Iraq lasted for almost a decade, and according to the US Department
of Defense and Time magazine, those wars cost upwards of 100 billion dollars each. Another
similarity between the VietnamWar and the war in Iraq is the high number of causalities. The
Vietnam War has an estimated 1,353,000 casualty count that includes allied military deaths, NVA
/VC military deaths, and civilians that died from both North and South Vietnam, from years 1965...

According to the Hoover Institution, a research institution supported by Stanford University, in the
beginning of the Vietnam War, the objective was to prevent the Viet Cong guerrillas from
overthrowing the South Vietnamese government. However, the article points out that by 1968,
president Johnson had lost sight of any objective he had previously. While in office President
Bush sought total victory in Iraq, which he defined as building the Iraqi society into a stable
democracy. In contrast, President Obama s objective was to remove US troops from Iraq. These
wars also had different military strategies. In Vietnam from 1965 to mid 1968, American troops
focused on killing as many of North Vietnamese soldiers and Viet Cong guerrillas as the could, with
the hopeful end result of them quitting. In Iraq the primary commission of American soldiers was
not to kill, but to instead provide security to the population, assist local officials to persuade the
people to support the government, fund tens of thousands of development projects and to institute

Recombivax HBV Vaccine Analysis
Hepatitis B immune globulin remains a central component of prophylaxis in HBV infected patients
undergoing liver transplantation. Its monotherapy given at a high dosage can prevent recurrence in
65% to 80% of patients. The cost of long term prophylaxis with high dose HBIG is extremely high
and combination therapy using HBIG with a nucleoside analog is more uniformly effective. The
current protocol is combination of HBIG with a nucleoside analog after liver transplantation. These
combination protocols have reduced the rate of virologic breakthrough to 10% or less (Terrault and
Vyas, 2003).
Prevention of primary infection by vaccination is also an important strategy to decrease the risk of
chronic HBV infection and its subsequent complications. The hepatitis B vaccine contains a
protein(antigen) that stimulates the body(immune system) to make protective antibodies or adaptive
immunity against the virus (Goldstein et al.,2005). The use vaccines like Engerix B and
Recombivax HB(monovalent vaccines) as single antigen hepatitis B vaccines are typically given
as a 3 shot series. For adolescents 11 15 years old, an alternative 2 dose Recombivax HB regimen
may be used. Engerix B and Recombivax hepatitis B vaccine can be used interchangeably and
administered concurrently with hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) ... Show more content on

Consequently, the second generation of HB vaccine, a DNA recombinant HB vaccine was also

hepatitis B vaccination should be included in national immunization system in all countries with a
hepatitis B carrier prevalence (HBsAg) of 8% or greater by 1995 and in all countries by 1997. By

Government Intervention Case Study

government intervention in the marketplace. Each were a necessary response to a failing aspect of

each intervention and evaluating the efficiency of each. When President Franklin D. Rooseveltcame
into office in place of Herbert Hoover in 1933, the Great Depressionhad taken a tight, ferocious

Between 1971 1973, former president Richard Nixon imposed the New Economic Policy, which,
for a 90 day period, would freeze wages and prices in an effort to combat inflation. Although it
seemed at first like the move had a lasting effect, inflation again became a problem once the
controls were relaxed. Nixon again layed down the controls; this was in part because of the
OPEC oil embargo, but the second time it didn t work at all. Although Nixon resigned just four
months after the crisis, price controls on oil continued (Robertson). Initially, the new economic
policy appeared to restrain some wage and price pressures. In the policy s second phase, a 15
percent wage increase was granted for coal miners . In February 1972, two dominant union leaders
withdrew from the supervisory panels created by the administration. Nixon had begun to alienate
his own constituency. Milton Friedman referred to the jerry built freeze and the controls as deeply
and inherently immoral ... [because they] threaten the very foundations of a free society. Later,
Nixon realized that the controls went against his own philosophy, stating the economy involved

The Importance Of Fluency Instruction For Reading...
Data In looking at the raw data, all but one of my five sixth grade students in my class scored
below the 50 percentile. This shows a need for fluency instruction and possibly a reason why
students struggle in the area of reading comprehension. I administered the fifth grade level passage
of the words per minute assessment, all of my students were readingat an independent level, but
struggle to read the text fluently, thus affecting their comprehension. Most of the students scored 3
/5 on comprehension part of the assessment. Based on this data it is clear that my students need
some aspects of fluency instruction. Because I had seven students total in my class, I did a whole
class choral readinglesson with the entire group. The two readers I did not assess I knew would
benefit from fluency based on observations of student s reading fluency when they have
volunteered to read aloud in class. All of my students need some type of fluency instruction and
there was not a single student who has mastered an area of fluency instruction.
Technical Reflection
In administering the word per minute assessment, I think I excelled at making the students feel
comfortable while giving the assessment. I had the student working with me at a small table while
the rest of the class did independent work. I let the student know I was going to record them, so I
could listen to it later. Then, I just listened to the student read. I have found from previous
experience giving running record

  • 2. Essay On Sabiller SABMiller is a leading brewing and beverage company that concentrates on delivering refreshment and sociability to millions of people globally. Over its 120 year history, SABMiller has produced over 200 beers in more than 80 countries, appropriating the title as the second largest brewer in the world. Not only does it focus its efforts in the alcoholic beverageindustry, but also as a company formulating sustainable efforts to make a change in the world and society today. Social media is heavy within the brewing industry, but is more prevalent and successful for direct beer brands, rather than parent companies such as SABMiller, AB InBev, or Diageo. SABMiller focuses its social media efforts on sharing its blogs, news, and media releases... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Online, however, SABMiller could use a facelift. Firstly, the website is mobile compatible and user friendly. The site is navigationally pleasing in that it defines where users are and where they can continue to search. Everything about SABMiller can be found and learned easily on the site and the content is perfect for the audience. Based on the Marketing Grader site, SABMiller needs to improve in two areas: performance and SEO. If SABMiller optimizes its website performance it could result in increased traffic, improved conversion rates, more leads, and an increase in revenue. Additionally, as a fast and relatively small site, SABMiller could also fix its Search Engine Optimization. SABMiller needs assistance in discovering and engaging directly on the site. A simple fix would be to amend the meta description in order to deliver a clear purpose and description of the content on the page. Connected and promoted on the website are SABMiller s five social media platforms which generate content based on the blogs, news stories, and media releases that SABMiller produces. As mentioned above and below, SABMiller s social presence is in need of the most work and thus, my recommendations are essential to support SABMiller for the future in this digitally focused age. Although I am focusing on SABMiller, this also pertains to the other leading brands within the industry as their websites and social platforms are equally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Speed of a Computer Is Affected by Different Storage... How Speed of a Computer Is Affected By Different Storage Devices Traci Benge CIS/201 May 7, 2012 Charles Jacks Abstract Today s computers have different ways to store data. Some examples of these ways are devices as the hard disk (aka magnetic disk), floppy disk, RAM, CD ROM, tape, and the flash (aka jump drive, USB memory stick, and thumb drive). Storage devices come in two different sources; primary or secondary. Each of these devices causes the computer to process data at different speeds. This paper will show how each of these devices store data and how they affect the speed of the computer. How Speed of a Computer Is Affected By Different Storage Devices The hard disk of a computer is a secondary type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Flash (aka Jump Drive, USB Memory Stick, and Thumb Drive) is a small device that plugs directly into a USB port on the outside a computer. It has made the transfer of data information very easy. The flash can be used easily to access large reports, presentations, spreadsheets, etc. without experiencing any slow response times trying to retrieve stored data on a computers hard disk. It is becoming a more preferred type of storage today because of its sturdy build making it easy to be carried in a pocket, on a keychain, or even on a lanyard. This is another option that is an inexpensive type of storage. As earlier defined, RAM provides fast access storage when a computer is on. However, if there is too many things open at once RAM can become sluggish. Every time an application or program is opened the RAM has that much more information and data to sort through while trying to process the request. For the computer to run at an optimal speed, unused applications or programs should be closed. This has an effect on the computers clock speed also. According to Webopedia Clock Speed (n.d.), Also called clock rate, the speed at which a microprocessor executes instructions. Every computer contains an internal clock that regulates the rate at which instructions are executed and synchronizes all the various computer components. In conclusion these comparisons discuss some of the different storage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Weimar Republic Failure There are many historians that believe the Weimar Republic was doomed from the beginning of its existence as a rump state of the once powerful German Empire. Other historians believe the republic is not such a failure as it seems in textbooks and online articles. Both sides unanimously agree that the Weimar Republicwas a failed attempt at bringing democracy to a predominantly monarchical (and tyrannical) Europe. The majority of historians that agree the ill fated Weimar Republic was a smudge on Germanyduring the Interwar Period have a large amount of validities to support that claim. However, these validities also apply to the latter (to a lesser extent) , with one major problem resolved by the republic. One of the claims is that the Weimar Republic was simply too weak to establish itself as a political power in Germany, being contested by left and right wing extremist groups. There were often frequent rebellions in Germany, led by Communists and Marxists. The military at the time was far too outnumbered to quell these rebellions in their own jurisdiction. Another major impediment was the hyperinflation of the currency of that time, the German Mark. After the Great War, Germany was in a state of utter devastation and rebellion. The Kaiser had just fled Germany, and she was now without a leader, essentially cutting head off the snake. The military had also returned in a similar shape. The German economy was in ruins. The Weimar Republic was still responsible for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Utalitarian Approach to Moral Obligation Wand(1979) expounds on Hume ethical theory in relation to moral obligation is a theory of good and evil rather than one of duty and obligation , according to Wand (1956:55): this statement is quite erroneous for Hume does not merely wish to discover the foundation of our moral actions . Hume account of how motives prompt men to moral actions is quite complex, but Wand (1979) also asserts that Hume distinguishes between two basic type of action to make it more understandable. The first type are those action which men will perform without the aid or influence of reason or custom; the second are those action which it can be expected men will normally perform with the aid or influence of reason or custom. Hume distinguishes these two types of action in terms of the specifically moral nature of their motive, whether or not the action is done from a sense of duty; thus for Hume, there are four classes of action: The first, are those actions prompted by the natural or moral motives; The second are those actions prompted by artificial, non moral motive; third; those actions promoted by artificial moral motives. In consideration of his account of moral motivation; Hume s ultimate intention is to show that it cannot be a natural duty to carry out certain types of obligation such as being just or keeping promises. Hume thinks that the actions envisaged cannot constitute duty; it would never be a duty unless human nature possesses some rational inclination prompting individuals to ... The ways of Gilead were manipulative and controlling; they limited the amount of communication with both the handmaids and citizens and used Angels, the police force and the eyes who were always watching. Gilead painted a portrait of Christianity in a man made control mechanism to those in the area. They were not aware of what was going on outside of Gilead and were trapped. We see in the acts of punishment, as they hang men and women for their crimes encouraging others to watch and display the dead bodies on the way that stands tall in the city. Their ways were also barbaric and inhuman; as a horrific event occurred after the women celebrate, the joining of marriage for new wives Aunt Lydia takes this opportunity to execute two handmaids and a wife. Moments after forming a circle she announces to the crowd that two guardians were convicted of rape, but one was already shot leaving this one for the handmaids. Adding fuel to the fire, she voices there were two handmaids involved one being pregnant had lost the baby. They beat him to death without questioning authoritative figures. Though we are unaware if the crimes those who were put to death were true or falsified to fit the needs of the eyes or other government officials we just know that whatever they say is perceived as true. It makes me wonder how much of this so called Christian inspired republic is based on the bible and how much is based on man. Teens shouldn t be immediately given the privilege of driving as soon as they turn sixteen. There is no possible way a written test can fully prepare them for the responsibilities and risks that come with driving. A program that gradually grants them that privilege through hands on practice and adult supervision would help teens be less inexperienced on the road. Age isn t the issue, it s lack of experience and carelessness. GDL is the blatantly correct choice. I found my way into the ice cream business as a lowly sophomore and stayed there until I was a senior, three seasons. By ice cream standards, this means I am an experienced veteran and can make a perfect soft serve swirl with my eyes closed. This particular ice cream shop was filled with only girl employees and was mainly a high school position; you may be thinking my boss is a pedophile, but he s not. As a senior, one has to show others that she is maturing and put on a leadershiprole to convince onlookers that she is almost at a functioning adult level. I had always loved my job, but this past summer I stepped in the leadership role in a way that I never had before; I had to confront my boss with a serious problem. Before I jump to far ahead, it is important to note that I was quickly becoming a head girl within the establishment. Many older girls were leaving, and younger girls were filling the gaps. I became accustomed to orienting new employees that my boss didn t have time for. It was a new challenge for me and demanded all my patience, which happens to be one of my faults. The accumulation of duties were moments of obligation in themselves, yet I consider the climax of these moments to have taken place in early August of 2015. During a lull in afternoon ... However, over the years the cost of a college education has increased and has become a financial burden for some families as their debts began to rise. The U. S. Department of Education amended the Title IV of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 1965. Student loans are a form of financial aid that a student can receive while in college and consist of federal loans and private loans. The financial markets begin to show signs of non payments of credit on student loans, which was alarming to policy makers who eventually intervened. The feedback received from this brought on the amendment of the Title IV of the Higher Education Act. Students were struggling to make ends meet with the worry of repaying their student loans as they entered into the workforce, they found that they were unable to purchase homes, prepare for retirement, nor have the option to start their own small businesses and so forth. Suggestions were made to the task force for policymakers to implement repayment options that would be affordable to students, and have private lenders to restructure loans. Another suggestion was to repair a student s credit if and when they repay their loan in full. Federal student loans can be issued directly to the student or to the parents. However, if that loan is made to the student, the student is not required to make any payments if enrolled as a part time student. Should the student drop below the part time status, there is a six month grace period to rekindle your status and the payments will be deferred, otherwise there is no grace period. Any loans made to the parents can have large loan amount, however, payments will have to start immediately. Private loans can be made to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When drawing from both Warming Her Pearls and Selling Manhattan , it is evident that Carol Anne Duffy maintains a certain avant garde approach to the vast array of possibilities that language presents. She acutely exposes the ambiguity that language holds in its meanings, presenting the reader with endless connotations to consider. Duffy also draws attention to its inability to fully express the extent of human emotions. Both of the above stated poems focus on societal and cultural stratification, with Duffy s use of language carefully designed to emphasise the distance between different social groups. Selling Manhattan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Duffy again has used the word I , the context of the language in which it is employed consequently generates a distance from Minuit. While the colonist clearly does not care to consider the feelings of any being other than himself, the very first line of the Indian embodies the exact opposite. Not only is the Indian seen to wonder about the thoughts of others, more specifically, he is even contemplating how the ground is feeling. This again creates a lucid contrast to the capitalist views of the settler, emphasising the Indian s value in the natural earth around. The personification that Duffy has shaped through language for the ground adds human qualities, suggesting that all surroundings are as important as the self, even the ground that we walk upon. The Indian s esteem in valuing, and his general respect for the natural surroundings is echoed again in the first line of his next stanza. Here he wonders about the water s spirit . No language is evident in Peter Minuit s stanza that would suggest a genuine concern for the spirit. Minuit does nevertheless state, Praise the Lord , which would at first glance suggest the possession of similar principles and beliefs to the Indian s interest in the spirit . Minuit s referral to God is however extremely cruel and entirely ironic, with him almost joking about powers beyond his own greedy hands. The education field represents the one of the largest industries in the United States. In order to avoid and eliminate excessive ethical dilemmas in the education industry, many professionals establish certain ethical standards to prevent work environment issues. Contrary to the set standards, many educators explain the unfairness in which teachers receive evaluations. So, is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior? The problem lies in the grading process. The teachers are commonly evaluated everywhere in the world. Sometime the way teachers are evaluated, lacks the complete capacity of the teacher. Although multiple evaluations are taken during the school year, even some of the observations are not as clear as the teachers. Since the evaluations are somewhat unexpected, teachers have no way of controlling the way their class will act. Therefore taking into consideration the student s behaviors may cause a misinterpretation. For example would it be okay to finalize the teacher s grade based on the way the students behave? Since the evaluations are at least twice a year, it is very likely that the teacher will not score as high as the demanding rubric of most of the evaluations. But teachers need to be ... This has been caused by media and governments labeling Islam as a whole with their extremist groups like Al Queda and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. I even thought that the principals held by these extremist group were more common in Islamthan they are. After studying Islam and gaining more information I came to respect this religion more than any other we studied this semester because of its seriousness and unity. The Quran and Hadith provide concrete details and instructions to follow in the faith of Islam. No texts from any other religion are as upfront with their beliefs than these. Muhammadwas and continues to be a powerful and understanding leader that has led it to becoming the world s fastest growing religion. I enjoyed studying the powerfulness of Muhammad and the direct voice of God in the Quran that is sets Islam apart from Judaism and Christianity. His influence and words continue to deeply inspire muslims even though he has been dead for centuries. Muhammad is one of the most interesting religious figures of any religion. He is a mix of all the other important figures from other religions. Like the Bhudda, he began his life as a normal citizen and then became a spiritual figure. At least for me, this allows me to find his words and teachings more believable because he is completely human. He is like Jesus because he is a prophet of God, but he isn t described as half human, half God. This gives him the same importance and validity as a translator of the Holy Spirits word. Since Muhammad is completely human his interpretations can be more believable because there isn t room for confusion on how he was created. Not only was he a spiritual leader of Islam but, he was also a political leader of the Islamic state. I think his leadership background with his business and political background allows Muhammad to better preach the word of Allah. The Hadith also plays an important role in the figure of Muhammad and Islam. It almost functions like a story to tell the life of Muhammad in critical detail. The intricate ... The self reflection that is involved in cognitive coaching coupled with professional vision enables teachers to become a catalyst of change both in the classroom and beyond. Patti amp; Holzer (2012) stated: The coaching relationship provides a safe haven for mindful attention to self change in the areas of self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management. It is through this individual process that the teacher and administrative leader positively impact the culture and climate of the classroom and school (p. 270). Every teacher has the capabilities to improve their knowledge and skill and cognitive coaching affords the opportunity of exploration into one s self, challenging old beliefs and habits, emerging a better, stronger leader. Although midwifery is not as prevalent as obstetrics, there is a rise in midwifery today. In the United States women and their partners are faced with the choice of who should provide care before, during and after pregnancy. As of today there has been a rise in how many births are attended by nurse midwives than it was a quarter of a century ago but the number of births attended by an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) is still significantly higher. Faced with either option, OBGYN or nurse midwife, women of childbearing age are not adequately informed or are misinformed on their choices when it comes to each specialty. This paper explores the issue of women being thoroughly informed on their birth options and on which provider is necessary. The Creation of Federal Laws in Australia The Creation of Federal Laws in Australia The Commonwealth of Australia was created with the 1901 unification of six recently independent British colonies. All were solidified under the authorship of a Constitution that same year which predicated the form of government and the legal orientation of the new nation. (AG, p. 1) In doing so, it also vested the power to create federal laws in Australian Parliament and, in one sense, gave it exclusive authority to do so. And in this sense, one might render the interpretation that one advantage Australiahas is that it has a written constitution which gives nearly all the power to make laws for Australia to the Commonwealth Parliament. However, a more complete understanding of the structure of Australian law suggests that this is a great understatement and one which does not make full accounting for the roles played either by the states that are confederated to make up Australia or by the judicial branch of the federal government. A consideration of the roles played by Parliament, the states and the court systems reveals that in fact, while the power to legislate laws is entrusted in Australian parliament, this entitlement is only possible through an interdependence with these other dimensions of the government. First, it is appropriate to examine the conditions that will have allowed for one to make the blanket statement quoted here above. Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism Learning about both Hinduism and Buddhism, particularly about the art and architecture of both cultures made me realize they are not that different as I thought first. Both cultures are beautiful and rich, and if someone takes a deeper look can see that they are depending on each other. Many people forget that Buddha was born into a Hindu society, and his views and beliefs which led to a brand new culture are based on Hinduism. Of course I am not saying the two are the same because that wouldn t make any sense. However, the similarities are visible, just the way differences are visible too, and these things make both cultures so amazing. First I would like to point out some of the similarities and differences between Hindu and Buddhist faiths which I think are important to understand their art. Both religions put karma and reincarnation into the center of believes. Both religions believe in several spiritual practices in attempts to get beyond the thinking mind and into a state of relaxation and awareness. However, they do not share their gods, in Hinduism they share their religion with many gods and goddesses, and in Buddhismthere is no god, Buddha himself was a leader. Many journalists are predominately liberal and are considered more liberal that the general public. They have a way of manipulating news to help Democrats and the liberal agenda. Strong conservatives and Republicans are more likely to distrust the media news (Lee Tien Tsung). Although the media deny being bias, there are ways to prove that it does exist without the proof of studies and research. When journalist only report from one side of the story and use phrases from witnesses or experts from the one side that they are reporting on, media bias is presented. If the journalist fails to report on the conservative side of the story, or the conservative part is either barely mentioned or comes at the end of the story instead of mentioning it during the liberal view, this is another example. Another way to identify this type of reporting would be looking for the journalist to put a spin on the story. This happens when journalist make one side of the story more appealing than the other. Jonah, for instance, is notorious for his rebellious thoughts and actions against the Ninevites for their wickedness. Even though God punished Jonah by forcing him to undergo three days in the belly of a fish, his myopic attitude toward the Ninevites remained unchanged. He despised them so much, that he would have preferred death over [their] salvation (UH, Jonah 122). Jonah s exasperation with the Ninevites was rooted in the fact that God would give them mercy as long as they repented; He knew that God could rescue any sinner, but Jonah wanted nothing to do with divine pardon being extended to Israel s hostile enemies (UH, Jonah 122). Although Jonah strongly opposed giving the Ninevites salvation, God used the rebellious prophet to bring [the] rebellious people to faith in himself (UH, Jonah 124). With the Lord s help, Jonah eventually approached the sinful people with diffidence and helped hundreds of thousands of them gain salvation from God. The book of Jonah communicates that God is an all powerful Creator, Judge, and Savior, which is also conveyed in the books of some of His other children. How would the efficiency of the filtration be affected by hot water used instead? Cold water was used because it does not dissolve solids as readily as hot water does. Using hot water in the filtration step would result in some of the crude luminol being dissolved. This would be less efficient since product is being removed and would give less of a product yield. 4.When isolating the solid through precipitate and vacuum filtration, why was the solid not rinsed with a solvent like ethyl acetate or dichloromethane? • 51. Essay On Iraq War The post 9/11 conflict in Iraq and the undeclared war in Vietnam both had a profound impact on the United States. These two military conflicts have been a source of contention among the American public for decades. These wars became tedious as a result of their longevity, both the Vietnam War and the war in Iraq lasted for almost a decade, and according to the US Department of Defense and Time magazine, those wars cost upwards of 100 billion dollars each. Another similarity between the VietnamWar and the war in Iraq is the high number of causalities. The Vietnam War has an estimated 1,353,000 casualty count that includes allied military deaths, NVA /VC military deaths, and civilians that died from both North and South Vietnam, from years 1965... According to the Hoover Institution, a research institution supported by Stanford University, in the beginning of the Vietnam War, the objective was to prevent the Viet Cong guerrillas from overthrowing the South Vietnamese government. However, the article points out that by 1968, president Johnson had lost sight of any objective he had previously. While in office President Bush sought total victory in Iraq, which he defined as building the Iraqi society into a stable democracy. In contrast, President Obama s objective was to remove US troops from Iraq. These wars also had different military strategies. In Vietnam from 1965 to mid 1968, American troops focused on killing as many of North Vietnamese soldiers and Viet Cong guerrillas as the could, with the hopeful end result of them quitting. In Iraq the primary commission of American soldiers was not to kill, but to instead provide security to the population, assist local officials to persuade the people to support the government, fund tens of thousands of development projects and to institute the Western rule of ... • 52. Recombivax HBV Vaccine Analysis Hepatitis B immune globulin remains a central component of prophylaxis in HBV infected patients undergoing liver transplantation. Its monotherapy given at a high dosage can prevent recurrence in 65% to 80% of patients. The cost of long term prophylaxis with high dose HBIG is extremely high and combination therapy using HBIG with a nucleoside analog is more uniformly effective. The current protocol is combination of HBIG with a nucleoside analog after liver transplantation. These combination protocols have reduced the rate of virologic breakthrough to 10% or less (Terrault and Vyas, 2003). Prevention of primary infection by vaccination is also an important strategy to decrease the risk of chronic HBV infection and its subsequent complications. The hepatitis B vaccine contains a protein(antigen) that stimulates the body(immune system) to make protective antibodies or adaptive immunity against the virus (Goldstein et al.,2005). The use vaccines like Engerix B and Recombivax HB(monovalent vaccines) as single antigen hepatitis B vaccines are typically given as a 3 shot series. For adolescents 11 15 years old, an alternative 2 dose Recombivax HB regimen may be used. Engerix B and Recombivax hepatitis B vaccine can be used interchangeably and administered concurrently with hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently, the second generation of HB vaccine, a DNA recombinant HB vaccine was also available for general use in 1986. Both of the vaccines were proven to be safe and efficacious in preventing HBV infection. In 1991, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that hepatitis B vaccination should be included in national immunization system in all countries with a hepatitis B carrier prevalence (HBsAg) of 8% or greater by 1995 and in all countries by 1997. By May 2002, 154 countries had routine infant immunization with hepatitis B vaccine (Lavanchy, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Government Intervention Case Study Roosevelt s New Deal, Cleveland s Railroad Dilemma, and Nixon s Oil Crisis are all examples of government intervention in the marketplace. Each were a necessary response to a failing aspect of the American marketplace (Robertson). I will be discussing the nature, purpose, and outcome of each intervention and evaluating the efficiency of each. When President Franklin D. Rooseveltcame into office in place of Herbert Hoover in 1933, the Great Depressionhad taken a tight, ferocious hold on the nation. In his inaugural address, Roosevelt s famous words were, So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror, which paralyzes needed efforts to convert... Between 1971 1973, former president Richard Nixon imposed the New Economic Policy, which, for a 90 day period, would freeze wages and prices in an effort to combat inflation. Although it seemed at first like the move had a lasting effect, inflation again became a problem once the controls were relaxed. Nixon again layed down the controls; this was in part because of the OPEC oil embargo, but the second time it didn t work at all. Although Nixon resigned just four months after the crisis, price controls on oil continued (Robertson). Initially, the new economic policy appeared to restrain some wage and price pressures. In the policy s second phase, a 15 percent wage increase was granted for coal miners . In February 1972, two dominant union leaders withdrew from the supervisory panels created by the administration. Nixon had begun to alienate his own constituency. Milton Friedman referred to the jerry built freeze and the controls as deeply and inherently immoral ... [because they] threaten the very foundations of a free society. Later, Nixon realized that the controls went against his own philosophy, stating the economy involved spiritual as well as accounting issues. He noted that there was a direct link between civil liberties and economic freedom. a relationship strained by wage and price controls. After the disappointing results of the failed price freeze, policymakers looked more sympathetically upon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. The Importance Of Fluency Instruction For Reading... Data In looking at the raw data, all but one of my five sixth grade students in my class scored below the 50 percentile. This shows a need for fluency instruction and possibly a reason why students struggle in the area of reading comprehension. I administered the fifth grade level passage of the words per minute assessment, all of my students were readingat an independent level, but struggle to read the text fluently, thus affecting their comprehension. Most of the students scored 3 /5 on comprehension part of the assessment. Based on this data it is clear that my students need some aspects of fluency instruction. Because I had seven students total in my class, I did a whole class choral readinglesson with the entire group. The two readers I did not assess I knew would benefit from fluency based on observations of student s reading fluency when they have volunteered to read aloud in class. All of my students need some type of fluency instruction and there was not a single student who has mastered an area of fluency instruction. Technical Reflection In administering the word per minute assessment, I think I excelled at making the students feel comfortable while giving the assessment. I had the student working with me at a small table while the rest of the class did independent work. I let the student know I was going to record them, so I could listen to it later. Then, I just listened to the student read. I have found from previous experience giving running record ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
