Liberty; an excuse to conquer. Luis Carlos Romo Astiazarán
Thesis statment In this essay, I will attempt to demonstrate how the British Empire influenced the United States in terms of conquering other countries.
Liberty Liberty only makes sense when the freedom of one person does not encroach upon the other but rather re-enforces it. Liberty only exists between equal human beings. Inequality implies the hierarchical positioning of one human over another and, as such, implies the subjugation of one to the other. Inequality creates slavery; it is only in a society of equals that true liberty can breathe.
The British empire It all started in Britain, with all the wars, tyranny and the social disagreement during almost a century. Britain was so obsessed with liberty. But with the time, they started to acquire something more than just liberty, like trading with other countries, and this brought slavery and conquering other countries to become more powerful, but with these actions, they killed the word liberty. They were doing the opposite they fought for.
This actions, this tyranny, the conquering, the excuses and the slavery, is exactly what is taking place in the United States, they fought for their freedom and defend their liberty and fought for what was right, and now they are taking the liberty from others.
Iraq and the united states become enemies  United States has a much larger history of involvement with that nation. Its interest in the Middle East grew after World War II because of the oil. The Middle East was functioning as a pipeline for British and French empires prior to the war, but the U.S. quickly came to dominate the petroleum resources of the region. America controlled more than 40 percent of the oil reserves of the Middle East. Then on January 16, President George Bush started “Operation Desert Storm” which, in short order, devastated Iraq.
In the past decade, many Iraqis have died, with some human rights groups putting the number close to a million because of intolerable health conditions caused by the war and embargoes on basic medical resources. And now, looking at all this information, the current attacks of the United States against Iraq has even less justification. The United States has developed relations with Iraq to suit its own purposes, supporting regimes which harm their own citizens, encouraging and funding wars against neighboring states, providing technology for weapons-building, and using Saddam as a justification for war and sanctions.
conclusion This is just the history repeating itself, conquering countries and taking their liberty just for power and money. They don’t care about all the lives they take, all the suffering and destruction they cause to other people. This is not the last time the United States will do something similar to this, and also not the only country. The power is something that all the richest countries want and always will. The British Empire left something on the countries they conquered, something more than just their language, their culture or their religion, they left their meaning of liberty, and the need of power and money.
