Experience Medtronic, Development Engineer (2015-present)
Part of a multidisciplinary center of excellence to provides technical expertise in the fields of
mechatronics, tissue mechanics, analytics, and scientific communication for pre-concept,
product development, marketing, and sales of surgical devices.
Q-PRO Bracing Technologies LLC, CEO/Co-Founder (2014-present)
Founded and operated an orthotic company based around a “smart knee brace” to treat knee
osteoarthritis. Raised over $50k in grants to build an alpha prototype and conducted relations
with design and manufacturing partners, grant providers, and potential investors.
Kinematic Design Lab, Researcher, Advisor: Dr. Kazem Kazerounian, (2010-2015)
Studied kinematic design, smart fluid actuation, mechatronics for robotic systems, and
compliant mechanism design that culminated in the design of a “smart knee brace” to lower
knee forces and provide shock absorption for knee osteoarthritis. Innovations include a novel
brace mechanism to follow knee motion within 1°, additive manufactured titanium compliant
mechanism to reduce bone contact force, and magnetorheological fluid dampers for muscle
support.
Biomechanics Lab, Researcher, Advisor: Dr. Shiva Kotha, (2008-2010)
Studied bone mechanics to understand fatigue and stress fractures, created FEA simulation to
predict stress fracture sites. Implemented ultrasound to stimulate bone regeneration and detect
stress fractures.
