This risk assessment document provides a template for identifying potential hazards during a film photography shoot involving equines. It instructs the user to consider all likely hazards, who or what may be harmed, existing controls, and assigns a risk level. Specific hazards from working with equines that are identified include getting kicked, stood on, bitten, or having dirt get on the camera. Controls such as keeping distance with fences and using camera straps or lens caps are noted. A risk assessment chart is provided to guide assigning risk levels from extreme to low.

When conducting a risk assessment, consider all the likely hazards; who may be harmed, property which may be damaged, and the controls
already in place. Then, for each likely hazard, bearing in mind the controls already in place, record the ‘risk assessment’ level. The further
action(s) to be considered will be determined by the level of risk assessment.
