3. Bay (Qumait)
• A horse that always has a black mane and tail, usually black points,
remaining body color varying from tan to brown.

4. Black (mushka)
• Black refers to a horse that is solid black all over its body with light areas.

5. Brown (Bhora)
• A brown horse varies from medium to dark, almost black,
brown with a black mane and tail.
• A brown can always be distinguished from a black by the
light areas at the muzzle, eyes, flanks and inside the
upper legs.

• Dark red or brownish red with the mane and tail either the same or
lighter in color than the body

• A white horse has pure white hair, pink skin and brown, hazel or
blue eyes.

12. Appaloosa(chitra)
• Horses which have a spotting pattern either over the hips or
scattered over the body.

13. Roan(mityala)
• Horses which have a mixture of white and colored hairs.

14. Paint (Pinto) (abluk)
The paint or pinto horse is
characterized by irregular colored and
white areas.
Paint and pinto horses have four color
patterns: piebald, skewbald, tobiano,
and overos;

15. A black and white spotted horse is a piebald (Siyaah abluk)
A skewbald (Laal Abluk) horse has spots of white and any color
other than black.

16. In the tobiano pattern, the white color extends downward over
the horse’s back.
In the overo pattern, the white extends up from the belly and legs
towards the back.

17. Palomino(sona, Sona Kulla)
• Horses which are a golden color, with a white or light colored mane
and tail.

18. Gray (Sawa)
• Horses which have a mixture of white and black hairs with black
color of skin.

19. A flea-bitten gray is basically white with small patches of dark
hairs all over the body.

20. A dapple-gray has dark hairs arranged in circular patterns on the
white base.

21. Dun (Buckskin)‫بادامی‬
Dun and buckskin colors are
modifications of the bay color pattern.
Dun and buckskin
colors are both
characterized by
black mane, tail,
and points.

22. A dun or buckskin horse
may show a dark stripe
down its back and across
its shoulders.
Dark stripes may also
extend across the
forearms of dun and
buckskin horses.

23. The body color of dun and buckskin
horses range from a pale yellow to
a dirty canvas color.
