The FBM KLCI index lost 0.29 points or 0.02% on Monday. The Finance Index increased 0.15% to
14007.55 points, the Properties Index up 0.45% to 1133.27 points and the Plantation Index
down 0.84% to 7857.88 points. The market traded within a range of 9.49 points between an in-
tra-day high of 1679.96 and a low of 1670.47 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include APFT, XOX-WA, JAG, NEXGRAM, SCOMI, HSI-C14, MSPORTS, XOX,
SANICHI and AIRASIA. Trading volume increased to 1622.59 mil shares worth RM1642.96 mil as
compared to Friday’s 1585.13 mil shares worth RM1728.29 mil.
Leading Movers were YTL (+3 sen to RM1.58), GENTING (+12 sen to RM8.12), MAXIS (+6 sen to
RM6.23), HLBANK (+10 sen to RM13.16) and PETCHEM (+4 sen to RM7.04). Lagging Movers
were MISC (-17 sen to RM8.76), IOICORP (-4 sen to RM4.71), BAT (-44 sen to RM55.40), SIME (-6
sen to RM7.92) and PETGAS (-10 sen to RM22.40). Market breadth was positive with 468 gainers
as compared to 364 losers.
The KLCI erased its mid-day gains by ending lower at 1674.59 points amid mixed performance in
US market on last Friday as oil prices continued to slide.
