The FBM KLCI index gained 4.99 points or 0.29% on Tuesday. The Finance Index increased 0.32% to
15456.09 points, the Properties Index up 0.56% to 1204.91 points and the Plantation Index rose
0.32% to 7467.1 points. The market traded within a range of 7.01 points between an intra-day high of
1727.07 and a low of 1720.06 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include HSI-HD, HSI-CT, AIRASIA, SKPRES-WA, LCTH, HSI-CV, FBMKLCI-HM,
SCNWOLF, CAP and APFT. Trading volume decreased to 1479.68 mil shares worth RM1687.31 mil as
compared to Monday’s 1498.48 mil shares worth RM1456.32 mil.
Leading Movers were AMMB (+13 sen to RM5.88), YTL (+2 sen to RM1.57), WPRTS (+5 sen to
RM4.30), AXIATA (+6 sen to RM6.35) and BAT (+60 sen to RM64.00). Lagging Movers were SKPETRO (-
9 sen to RM2.32), PPB (-16 sen to RM15.16), HLFG (-8 sen to RM15.28), IOICORP (-1 sen to RM4.24)
and UMW (-2 sen to RM10.20). Market breadth was positive with 477 gainers as compared to 287
losers.
The day ended with the KLCI closing higher at 1721.10 points after taking cue from overnight gains in
Wall Street. Market sentiment has improved after Greece reached an agreement with its creditors.
