The FBM KLCI index lost 2.84 points or 0.17% on Friday. The Finance Index fell 0.02% to 14330.03
points, the Properties Index up 0.48% to 1218.35 points and the Plantation Index rose 0.95% to
7704.74 points. The market traded within a range of 7.99 points between an intra-day high of
1693.07 and a low of 1685.08 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include HWGB, RGB, PUC, CAP, ESCERAM, SUMATEC-WB, MYEG-CK, SU-
PERMX-C1, INIX and INSTACO. Trading volume increased to 2275.66 mil shares worth
RM2020.66 mil as compared to Thursday’s 2183.65 mil shares worth RM2169.79 mil.
Leading Movers were PETDAG (+60 sen to RM23.16), MISC (+10 sen to RM9.23), BAT (+58 sen to
RM60.20), SKPETRO (+2 sen to RM2.21) and RHBCAP (+4 sen to RM6.20). Lagging Movers were
ASTRO (-5 sen to RM2.87), KLCC (-10 sen to RM6.91), GENM (-6 sen to RM4.38), IHH (-8 sen to
RM6.50) and DIGI (-1 sen to RM5.19). Market breadth was positive with 500 gainers as com-
pared to 388 losers.
The KLCI closed marginally lower at 1685.70 points amid overnight losses in US market. The per-
formance of our index was dragged down by absence of fresh catalyst.
