Chinese Iron ore prices are showing signs of bottoming
out. The benchmark 62% Fe import price including
freight and insurance at the Chinese port of Tianjin raced
ahead $3.10 or 5.9% to $55.30 a tonne, capping three days
of gains according to data provided by the Steel Index.
The latest Iron Ore prices has been inspired by a bounce
back in Chinese steel prices with the most-traded rebar
contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange touching
$340 this week. That's up from record low of $305 at the
start of the month. The steel price has also been boosted
by rumors in China that Beijing has halted all construc-
tion inside the city and ordered steelmakers in areas sur-
rounding the capital to make drastic cuts in production
and ahead of September 3 military parade.
Euro zone inflation remained stable at 0.2 percent in July,
flash data from Eurostat showed Friday. Inflation has
stayed in positive territory for the third straight month.
Inflation is well below the European Central Bank's target
of below, but close to, 2 percent over the medium term.
Meanwhile, core inflation that excludes energy, food, al-
cohol and tobacco, accelerated to 1 percent from 0.8 per-
cent in June. It was expected to remain at 0.8 percent.

COMMODITY BUZZ
Copper sinked to six year lows on LME today, while other
exchanges also faced collapse after China reported yet an-
other depletion in the PMI numbers. The official PMI
numbers of China declined in the month of July 2015 caus-
ing panic selling in commodities like Copper and Alumin-
ium.The Caixin China manufacturing purchasing manager's
index, or PMI, fell to a final reading of 47.8 in July, a two-
year low. A number below 50 indicates economic contrac-
tion. This followed Saturday's announcement by the gov-
ernment's National Bureau of Statistics that China's official
PMI slipped to 50 in July from 50.2 in June. The month of
August 2015 will be closely eyeing the reports on Chinese
economy.
WTI Crude oil neared its six month lows yet again as poor
US economic data and a weak opening on the DOW hit the
sentiments. US Consumer spending in June rose by the
smallest amount in four months. Consumer spending edged
up 0.2% in June. Overall purchases of durable goods, the
category that covers autos, fell 1.3% in June. US ISM manu-
facturing PMIcame in at a less than expected 52.7 for July,
indicating that the economy might not be growing as
strongly as previously thought. DOW is in red right now
and the WTI Crude futures are trading at $45.97 per barrel,
down 2.44% on the day. on the day .
