The one who says he resides in God
ought himself to walk just as Jesus
walked.
1John 2:6
The one who says he is in the light
but still hates his fellow Christian is
still in the darkness.
1John 2:9
We have come to know love by this:
that Jesus laid down his life for us;
thus we ought to lay down our lives for
our fellow Christians. But whoever
has the world’s possessions and sees
his fellow Christian in need and shuts
off his compassion against him, how
can the love of God reside in such a
person?
1 John 3:16-17
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not
envious. Love does not brag, it is not
puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-
serving, it is not easily angered or
resentful. It is not glad about injustice, but
rejoices in the truth. It bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things. Love never ends…. And
now these three remain: faith, hope, and
love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7;13
For this reason, because I have heard of your
faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the
saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you when
I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the
God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in
your growing knowledge of him, –since the eyes
of your heart have been enlightened–so that you
may know what is the hope of his calling, what is
the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the
saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of
his power toward us who believe, as displayed in
the exercise of his immense strength.
Ephesians 1:15-19
But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God
of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—
to make you intelligent and discerning in
knowing him personally, your eyes focused
and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is
he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of
this glorious way of life he has for Christians,
oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us
who trust him—endless energy, boundless
strength!
Ephesians 1:17-19, The Message
The LORD says, “Wise people should not boast
that they are wise. Powerful people should
not boast that they are powerful. Rich people
should not boast that they are rich. If people
want to boast, they should boast about this:
They should boast that they understand and
know me. They should boast that they know
and understand that I, the LORD, act out of
faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth
and that I desire people to do these things,”
says the LORD.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness
of people who suppress the truth by their
unrighteousness, because what can be known
about God is plain to them, because God has
made it plain to them. For since the creation
of the world his invisible attributes—his
eternal power and divine nature—have been
clearly seen, because they are understood
through what has been made. So people are
without excuse.
Romans 1:19-20
No one has ever seen God. The only one, himself God,
who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has
made God known.
John 1:18
Now this is eternal life–that they know you, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent. I glorified
you on earth by completing the work you gave me to
do. And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the
glory I had with you before the world was created.
John 17:3
The world fears the power of the atom,
yet we belong to the God of the
universe, who not only created that
atomic power but also raised Jesus
Christ from the dead. God’s
incomparably great power is available
to help you. There is nothing too
difficult for him.
