There was a dragon in Krakow that wanted to eat the king's daughters. Many knights tried to kill it but failed. A shoemaker named Dratevka came up with a plan to trick the dragon. He filled a lamb with sulfur and left it near the dragon's cave. When the dragon ate the lamb, the sulfur ignited a fire in its body, causing it to run toward a river for relief. However, drinking so much water caused the dragon to explode, killing it. The shoemaker was then rewarded with the king's daughter and they lived happily ever after.
Salphur in Staszów
Staszek led his tribe to settle in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, which was inhospitable but felt right to Staszek. Soon after settling, animals from the tribe's flocks began disappearing. Staszek discovered they were being taken by a dragon living in a nearby cave. Though slow, the dragon had a mesmerizing gaze that paralyzed its prey. Staszek decided to trap the dragon in its cave by filling it with large boulders. While the dragon was buried, it did not die, and still causes tremors from underground. The settlement was named after Staszek.

1) The legend tells the story of Hungarian Prince Emeryk who was invited to visit the Polish King Bolesław Chrobry. Before his journey, Emeryk received blessings from his father and relics of the Saint Cross for protection.
2) While hunting with the King, Emeryk became separated from the group and encountered a large, beautiful deer. When he tried to kill it, Emeryk saw a lightning cross in its head and the deer disappeared.
3) Lost in the forest, Emeryk was guided by an angel to a wooden monastery where the monks cared for him. Emeryk gifted the monks the golden cross relic from his father, and the King later built a church and monastery called
ARTA'S BRIDGE
A group of workers in Arta, Greece were building a bridge but it kept collapsing every night. A bird told them the bridge would only be completed if they sacrificed a person. Sadly, the head worker's beloved wife was chosen. She was told her wedding ring fell in the foundation and when she went to look, they sealed her in. Realizing her fate, she cursed those who crossed the bridge but took it back, not wanting her brother cursed. With the sacrifice, the workers finally finished the bridge which still stands today.

- 3. Rubbish Unsorted rubbish on the inadequate landfill in Pocieszka threaten the environment. The local community also export rubbish to the illegal dumps in the forest.
- 4. The Power Station ‘Polaniec’ The Power station ‘Polaniec’ makes the air full of the large amount of pollution created in the process of combustion the coal. The power station also heat the water from Wisla river what is harmful for environment.
- 5. Salt in a river The spring rains collect the salt from the streets which is crumbled during the winter. Next that salt is transported with canalization to the Czarna River. As a result the amount of the salt in the river increase.
- 6. Fertilizers The fertilizers and the plant protection products transpotred from fields and gardens by the rainwater run down to the ground and the river that makes the environment polluted.
- 7. Rainwater Polluted rainwater from the houses` roofs is transpotred to the river. It should be gathered near houses in special tanks and used for example to wash.
- 8. Energetic heat generating plant Energetic heat generating plant pollute the air producing exhaust fumes.
- 9. Low emission The old central heating furnaces in houses produce a lot of harmful substances during the winter. Using modern kettles which are heated with gas we can decrease the smog.
- 10. Cars The cars passing the centre of the city make it more polluted. Having the bypass there would not be as much shakes that destroy the buildings in the centre of the city. What is more the local people would not have to breathe in carbon and nitrogen oxidies.
- 11. Our friends Fortunately we have got friends that takes care of the environmental protection. A lot of forests near Staszow reduce the pollution and because of that we can live in a clear area.
