This document discusses global warming and its causes. It states that global warming is caused by both natural phenomena and human activities like burning fossil fuels, which increase greenhouse gas emissions. Burning a single gallon of gasoline releases 19 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The document then provides information on the greenhouse effect and increasing levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere as measured at a Hawaiian observatory. It concludes by listing some individual actions that can help mitigate global warming such as reducing waste, using less heating and air conditioning, changing light bulbs, driving less and buying energy efficient products.
Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate. There is great debate among many people, and sometimes in the news, on whether global warming is real (some call it a hoax). But climate scientists looking at the data and facts agree the planet is warming. While many view the effects of global warming to be more substantial and more rapidly occurring than others do, the scientific consensus on climatic changes related to global warming is that the average temperature of the Earth has risen between 0.4 and 0.8 °C over the past 100 years. The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years. Scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate carrying out global warming research have recently predicted that average global temperatures could increase between 1.4 and 5.8 °C by the year 2100. Changes resulting from global warming may include rising sea levels due to the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms and other severe weather events.

This paper discusses the potential hazards of burning of fossil fuels, mainly global warming. In the light of scholarly researches, its evident that fossil fuel burning aids to increase global warming by giving off greenhouse gases.

Cut out in Carbon Emisson is one of the most important topic amongst all the countries. This presentation emphasis on methods by which Carbon emssion can be reduce..
2. Global warming is an average increase in the temperature of the
atmosphere near the Earth’s surface and in the troposphere,
which can contribute to changes in global climate patterns.
Global warming can occur from a variety of causes, both natural
and human induced. In common usage, “global warming” often
refers to the warming that can occur as a result of increased
emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities.
3.
4. Global Warming is Human Caused !
Human activity--such as burning
fossil fuels--causes more greenhouse
gases to build up in the atmosphere.
As the atmosphere "thickens" with
more greenhouse gases, more heat
is held in. Fossil fuels such as oil,
coal and natural gas are high in
carbon and, when burned, produce
major amounts of carbon dioxide or
CO2. A single gallon of gasoline,
when burned, puts 19 pounds of
carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
12. The greenhouse effect refers to circumstances where the short wavelengths ofvisible light from
the sun pass through a transparent medium and are absorbed, but the longer wavelengths of
the infrared re-radiation from the heated objects are unable to pass through that medium.
Increase in Greenhouse Gases
The increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide, one of the three majoratmospheric
contributers to the greenhouse effect has been carefully documented at the Mauna Loa
Observatory in Hawaii. The 1990 rate of increase was about 0.4% per year. The interesting cyclic
variations represent the reduction in carbon dioxide by photosynthesis during the growing
season in the northern hemisphere.
Increase in Atmospheric Carbon
Dioxide
14. 1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning
3. Change a Light Bulb
Wherever practical, replace regular light bulbs with compact
fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs.
4. Drive Less and Drive Smart
Less driving means fewer emissions.
When you do drive, make sure your car is running efficiently.
5. Buy Energy-Efficient Products
