Rumanian popular dishes include a soup called "chorba de perisoare" made with meatballs containing beef, pig meat, rice, salt, and onion. Another dish is "sarmale", stuffed cabbage leaves rolled with a mixture of minced meat, rice, and onion, boiled and eaten with cornmeal porridge and sour cream. A third specialty is "mici", small grilled meatballs made from a mixture including meats and bicarbonate that are delicious when fried.
