Carlos Alonso Rodriguez gave a presentation about himself in English. He is 25 years old and from Valladolid, Spain, where he has lived for 24 years except for his final year of studying Economics in Ireland. He obtained degrees in Business Management in 2012 and Economics in 2014 from universities in Spain and Ireland. Carlos discussed his academic and professional experiences, including working with a youth organization and at Leroy Merlin home improvement store. His goals are to improve his English certificates, complete his master's program with motivation, and find work either for the government as a civil servant or after further studies.

1. ENGLISH PRESENTATION ABOUT MYSELF
Good afternoon everybody and thank you to attend at this presentation. It´s a pleasure for me
that the most of you are here. My name is Carlos as the teacher said and I am 25 years old. I
am from Valladolid in Spain, the city where we are right now and I have lived here for around
24 years because the last academic course I was in Galway, in Ireland, in order to do my final
course in Economics degree. Today I can say that I am happy after passing all the exams there.
Some of my goals for this presentation are the promotion of myself and the promotion of
some organizations where I have worked for. Any questions or doubts please feel free to ask
me at the end of the presentation. Thank you.

Firstly, I am going to talk about My Academic Experience. Secondly, I will speak about My
Professional Experience and finally I will talk about My goals, opportunities, future plans... The
last point is the question time.
MY ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
I got my first degree in Business Management in 2012 after studying 5 years at the faculty of
Economics and Business in Valladolid University with a grade of 7.4 points out of 10 points. I
was able to get knowledge in Company Law, Maths, Financial and Analytical Accounting,
Sociology, Microeconomics, Accountancy, Macroeconomics, Human Resources, Business
Management...
My second degree was got in June 2014 in Economics. I studied one year in the previous
faculty and the second year I studied at Cairnes School of Business & Economics in National
University of Ireland, Galway. I got 8.95 points out of 10 points. Some knowledge learned was:
Game theory, Econometrics, Public Sector Finance, Business Economics, Financial Systems,
Comparative Economics Thought, Development Economics, Money and Banking, Advanced
Statistical Methods for Business...

2. recognised for the Nations United, where it has a B status advisory in representing the
international youth, becoming the greatest International youth. We promote the exchange
among the people around the world, we get students from Valladolid University to send them
to the abroad (for example students from the Education Faculty) in order to do their
practicums. But also we received people from the abroad, for example nowadays there is a guy
from Poland working in an English Academy called One Way. Right now we are recruiting
people to work with us as volunteer to manage the association in Valladolid. We also select
people from all the countries, so if you are interested on please let me know later.
Finally, I will speak about my experience in Leroy Merlin. It was from June to August 2011 in
Leroy Merlin Zaratán, now it locates in Rio Shopping close to La Flecha.I worked as Advisory
services doing some tasks like: checking orders and supplies, organized customers quality
surveys, Recorded profits mark-up in the Services Area…
MY GOALS, OPPORTUNIETIES AND FUTURE PLANS
Some goals in the short term are: get better some certificates in English and finish this master
with motivation.
Do a good job with the Master Thesis Work and do the best in my internship in International
Trade. If I am happy with the company and they want to select me for more time I will stay
there for more time butin the another case I would have to look for new opportunities.
In the long term I would like to work for the government, so become civil servant, but I am not
sure in what area yet.
On the other hand I could do a PGD in Economics or accountancystudies, probably in others
countries.
Finally, I could start looking for a job after the end of the master, but who knows…
