• Must- Mustn’t: Use- Probability/ Logical
assumption, Necessity, Prohibition.
• She must be stuck in traffic.
• Might- no contraction: Use- Probability
• You might be catching flu.
• May- no contraction: Use- Probability,
Permission.
• I may or may not be able to play valleyball this
summer.
• May I please go to the bathroom?

• It will rain tomorrow.

• Would- Wouldn’t: Use- Polite question, Invitation,

• Can- Can’t: Use- Ability/ Impossibility, Suggestion,
Request.

• Should- Shouldn’t: Use- Uncertain prediction, Moral
duty.
