Cricket is a sport played between two teams of 11 players where the objective is to score runs by hitting a ball with a bat. The field is an oval-shaped grass surface with a rectangular pitch in the middle where the bowler and batsman face off. The wicket, consisting of three stumps with two bails, is located at each end of the pitch and is considered broken when a bail is dislodged. A batsman uses a bat no longer than 38 inches to hit a leather-covered cork ball measuring 9 inches in circumference.
