2. K-Pop aka Korean Pop is a musical genre, which consists of
many other music sub-genres such as hip hop,
a bit of Dubstep and mostly electro.
In addition to music, K-Pop had gained
popularity among teenagers and young adults
throughout not only Asia, but internationally as
well.

Seo Tai-ji & Boys in 1992 and it was a turning point for
popular music in South Korea.
While combining elements of popular musical genres in the
US such as rap, rock and techno, the group soon achieved
great success in South Korea.

formation of SM Entertainment, which is alongside
many
of the other talent agencies such as YG Entertainment,
Stardom Entertainment and Big Hit Entertainment.

of Gangnam Style, which managed to brake YouTube’s
view count with now 2.5 billion views.
Not only did it become the world’s most watched video, but
it introduced K-Pop internationally.
