M.Tech Energy Systems
With the development of renewable energy sources gaining strategic and geographical importance and
a focus on energy conservation, there’s a growing need to develop specialized professionals who have
an in-depth knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
The M.Tech Energy Systems program offered by UPES is designed to create professionals who are well
versed with all the four quadrants of Energy Systems viz. Renewable Energy, Energy Auditing &
Management, Conventional Sources of Energy, and Financing & Project Management in Energy Sector
including the latest topic of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The students are also exposed to
latest energy auditing instruments/ equipments and are encouraged to participate in live energy
auditing projects which the university undertakes for the industry from time to time.
The delivery methodology comprises a rich mix of case studies, lectures, guest lectures, interactive
group work, presentations, discussions, tutorials, live projects, summer internships and directed self
study. Break-up of M.Tech Energy Systems Students on the basis of
Students’ knowledge of the theory, practice and execution of business decisions is further
supplemented with frequent interactions with Industry leaders as well as policy framers in the form of
their prior qualification
