2. MULTI FACTOR AUTHENTICATION vs 2-FACTOR
AUTHENTICATION.
Multifactor authentication (MFA) is a security system of authenticating users by
requesting more than one method of authentication. It requires the user to supply
different categories of credentials before they are allowed access to the system.
Multifactor authentication requires the user to provide a combination of information
which includes
1. A password/ PIN
2. A security key ( token, one time pin(OTP), etc)
3. A biometric verification ( Fingerprint, etc).
3. MULTI FACTOR AUTHENTICATION VS 2-FACTOR
AUTHENTICATION.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) this a type of mutli factor authentication that
requires 2 layers credentials for authentication.
It requires 2 factors to identify the user.
The first factor is the password, the second factor could be a token or a one time pin
(OTP), or even a biometric credential.
2FA ensures users safety online.
4. MULTI FACTOR AUTHENTICATION VS 2-FACTOR
AUTHENTICATION.
The difference between MFA and 2FA is simple. Two-factor authentication always
utilizes two of these factors to verify the user's identity.
Multi-factor authentication could involve two of the factors or it could involve all
three. “Multi-factor” just means any number of factors greater than one
