Electrostatic charge elimination in mask manufacturing line
Problem
Any mask production has to be done in very hygienic conditions, free of dust and other contaminants.
However, non-woven fabrics that are used in masks can have high levels of electrostatic charges due
to friction, contact/separation, cutting, slitting, sudden changes in temperature, etc. Static invariably
attracts unwelcome dust.
In addition to the dust problems that are associated with a charged fabric, spunbond and meltblown
layers may not cling together or could get misaligned due to static charges. At the delivery end, static
charges may also result in improper stacking and jamming of the completed masks.
Solution
Install Valstat​®​
VR or VC series static eliminators, as shown in the sketch above. Powered by PS
series HV power sources, they nullify the static charges from the nonwoven fabric during
manufacturing and stacking effectively.
The result is a well-aligned and stacked mask output at optimum machine speed with minimal
stoppages and wastage.
