3. Adapter mobile charger definition
• They typically consist of a power adaptor that you plug into your power
socket and a charging cable that you connect to your phone, laptop, tablet,
etc. Other variants consist of a charging pad to allow you to power up
your electronic devices wirelessly.
4. Components of adapter
• Step Down Transformer
• Bridge Rectifier (Four diodes)
• Capacitor 1000μF
• 7805 Voltage regulator IC
• LED
• Resistor 1000Ω
• USB female pin
• Wires
6. Working
1. Step down AC Voltage
2. Rectification
3. Filtration
4. Voltage Regulation
7. Step down AC Voltage
• The only way to step down voltage without a transformer, is to add
resistance to the circuit, whether that is by adding more length to the
feeder, which would increase voltage drop, or by adding a resistor in the
circuit. Either way, you are adding resistance, but with the resistor, you
don't need more wire.
8. Rectification
• Rectification is the process of converting alternating current (AC) which
reverses its direction periodically to direct current (DC) which flows only
in one direction.
9. Filtration
• The AC component is undesirable and must be removed. For this, a filter
circuit is used. "A Filter Circuit is a circuit which removes the ac
component from the output of rectifier and produces the pure dc output
across the load." The filter circuit should be placed between the rectifier
and the load

11. Application of mobile charger
• Mobile charger is used to charge mobile phone
• This DC supply can also be used to charge power source for digital
circuts,breadboard circuts,Ics etc..
• Used to operate devices that take 5V DC input.
