The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham commissioned Summit Consulting & Training Ltd to provide emotional intelligence training to their Children's Social Work Teams. The training was well-received by staff, who found it engaging and useful in their interactions with colleagues and clients. It allowed staff to step away from their daily responsibilities and reflect on different perspectives. The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (Social Care Training Team)
commissioned Summit Consulting & Training Ltd to work with our Children’s
Social Work Teams. This was part of our Employers Health Check
consultation activity with staff. Staff wanted to have some investment in their
personal development outside of their specialised job roles to improve
working together as teams, building professional relationships and
understanding different values and motivations that people hold.
Summit Consulting appeared as an attractive training provider as they were
offering training on Emotional Intelligence which matched the type of learning
experience we were looking. We arranged an Away Day for all the social
workers to attend and Summit covered the subject area very well. The
training was engaging and interesting and covered a variety of topics which
the delegates found useful in their day to day interactions with each other and
their clients.
The event enabled staff to step out of their hectic day to day roles and take
time to reflect on a different perspective or approach to the problems they
faced. As social workers they are used to challenging views and opinions and
they demonstrated some of their skills during the event, however this was
positively challenged in return by the trainer who helped them to explore other
ways of thinking.
We would recommend Summit Consulting & Training and found their
approach to our learning needs flexible and professional.
