I am a dedicated and dynamic education professional with a wealth of skills and capabilities acquired during
diverse leadership and management roles in industry, education and wider public service. I am well qualified
and experienced in teaching and learning in both post-16 and higher education settings. I am a confident and
motivational leader with experience of achieving objectives through rigorous and transparent evidence-based
decision-making. I am impassioned about ensuring the provision and accessibility of education to all
individuals, particularly those from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. I am proficient in education
research and process, with a practical nature to delivering change, and through my various roles in education

2005 – 2013 West Midlands Police
Special Constable, Section Officer & Acting District Officer
• Member of the Community Action Priority Team (CAPT) for Birmingham City Centre.
• As Acting District Officer I was responsible for the welfare and operational readiness for 70 officers and
as Section Officer for leading and managing a team of 10 officers on a day to day basis.
• As a Special Constable I provided high visibility policing throughout Birmingham’s major shopping and
entertainment areas to increase public safety and confidence.
• Duties also included detecting and preventing time, making arrests and investigating offences, writing
reports, interaction with the public and dealing with a variety of public issues.
2008 – 2009 Coventry City Council (Looked After Children Education Service)
Tutor for English and Maths
• Providing additional support in English and Maths to students homed with foster parents to build
confidence and offer emotional support outside of academic studies
• Collaborating closely with foster parents, teachers and other interested parties to gather information and
